looking for something and not find it...then found it later? This morning I went in my fridge looking for a bag of coffee to make a pot. Could have sworn I had at least one. Okay, with the move recently, maybe I'm wrong and it's packed somewhere. No, I unpacked all the kitchen boxes first. Well, I just now opened the refrigerator door. Guess what's staring me in the face? Yup! A Barnie's bag of coffee.

I went to get something out of the fridge one night and found one of my ds's baseballs. He said he meant to put it in his toy box, and forgot and put it in the fridge instead.

I'm famous for opening up the fridge or cabinet and just standing there. Waiting to remember what I was originally looking for. Getting old is fun.

I like to put my cereal in the fridge and my milk in the cabinet.

If it isn't sitting right in the front, then according to DH we are out of it or don't have any.

One day DH and I spent hours looking for the TV remote. When my (then) 3 year old DD was getting ready for bed, she opened up the refrigerator and pulled it out of the vegetable drawer where she had hidden it.

Now we check there first

A little off subject, but...
A few weeks ago, we kept smelling something yucky in the food cabinet. We could NOT figure out what it was that was causing the stink, until one day.....

You know those little microwaveable macaroni and cheese kids meals? Well, one of the kids had taken it out, took the (metal pull tab) lid off, decided they didn't want it afterall, so they put the plastic lid back on (the medal lid underneath was removed) and put it back in the cabinet!!! My DH discovered it, somehow. It was all green and moldy!!

I find our remote in the fridge often too...

This doesn't happen as much with the fridge as it does with my purse! I will take EVERYTHING out of it looking for an item and it's not there. A couple of hours later, when I reach in for something else--guess what's the first thing I pull out?

I call it the black hole; DD calls it the Mary Poppins purse.

I've done the exact same thing that browneyes son did - I've put something in the fridge before that belonged in the pantry and my daughter has caught me, thankfully and vice versa - put something in the pantry that belonged in the fridge and she asked me what I was doing. Thank goodness too because that pantry would have SMELLED!!!!! after awhile.

LOL! These are all too funny. A couple times I've caught myself heading to the cabinet with the milk and the fridge with something that doesn't go there. It's usually when DS is talking to me and I'm distracted! Once I couldn't find something and he told me where I put it! LOL! Somewhere where it didn't belong. Glad he was paying attention!

You aren't losing your mind; there is a pefectly logical explanation.

The little guy inside your refrigerator who turns the light on and off hid it from you as a prank.

His life has so few rewards it's best to let him have a little fun.

My DH did this a few months ago and I still tease him. He put away groceries when I brought them home one night after work. The next morning I opened the cupboard to get the cereal out...and found the melted Breyers ice cream I'd bought the night before.

Thank goodness it was Breyers...it comes in a thick cardboard container so it didn't leak. I bet if I had bought Kroger ice cream or any ice cream that comes in that paper box stuff, it would have melted out the sides!

Terri... It just dawned on me in the last few minutes...where's the box of oatmeal I just bought this morning? No, it's not in the pantry where it belongs. I emptied all the bags. Hmmm...I'll have to check the van. I found a can of soup rolling around. Maybe the oatmeal was with it and slid to the floor??? Why do these things dawn on me 45 minutes after the fact? LOL!

My DH does this often. Except he puts the almost full tub of ice cream in the fridge (not freezer). Sigh!
