Decorating your resort room?

If you buy window clings, they will automatically stick to the window. You don't have to do anything to them :)

Love all of the ideas, but I have a question. We are going for Thanksgiving week, but Disney is decorated for Christmas at that point. Which should I do Thanksgiving or Christmas???

Christmas is sooo much more fun!!! Take a mini tree and lights and a wreath...ohh what fun!!! with ornaments and stockings in the windows!!! :yay: we were supposed to be going for Christmas this year!! Instead we're having another baby! :scared1:

Michelle,

Glad to hear your dad is doing better and getting back to work. Your window was adorable. I don't know why I haven't been getting updates (missed a page of posts). We leave Monday am (VERY EARLY) and can't wait to get to Pop. I'll post pics when we get back. Thanks for sharing all your ideas.

EVERYONE! I had to share my steal of the day yesterday!! I found Disney Window clings at a garage sale!! 1 page of Toy Story and one of Ariel!!! Can't wait to get back to THE WORLD!! I'm thinking UNDER THE SEA THEME!!!!!

what kind of adhesives are good if you tape something outside the door, that are easy enough to remove... and hold with the humidity?

Packing tape is the best! STAY AWAY from Masking tape whatever you do! it gets verrry sticky in the heat!

Very cool! TY... am hoping to do something to surprise a friend for her bday :)

Maybe in the future I will do some lights etc at my room... though am normally at a DVC room.

WE ARE HEADING TO WDW IN 230 DAYS & WHENN ITOLD MY GRANDS ABOUT THEMICKEY HEADS ELLI SAID SHE WANTS PINK! SO PINK SHE SHALL HAVE ! I CAN'T WAIT TO SWIPE SOME MICKEY HEADS...HOPE TO SEE SOME PIX ON HEREFOR IDEAS...READ YA LATER...

ooo a pink room can be soo fun!! you can take it to sooo many different levels! Let us know what else you come up with!!! You should even be able to find some pink lights for the window!!!

I'm getting all of my lime green decorations ready for our trip in Sept.
Still need to decide on a design for my decorations.:lmao:

:cheer2:

Good Morning!

I have been reading this thread for a while and LOVE the ideas! Wondering if you can help me. We are going to Disney in December and joining us will be some our really good friends which can you believe have NEVER been to Disney!!! They will be staying with us in a 2 bedroom DVC at Saratoga. I really want to decorate but will be limited on suit case room. Any ideas?

we all go verrry limited on suitcase room :) so we're all pretty good at this! bring the bare bones minimum that will make the biggest impact! Door signs and window clings take up no room! Lights REALLY make a window or balcony STAND OUT and look fabulous! Window Markers are another thing that take up no space esp. When you just take one or two colors that you will use :)
LGMHPC are another tiny thing that you can cut out the heads and put your names on them and stick them to your door! Don't forget a roll of scotch tape! with the lights you will need an extension cord. If you have a theme in mind we can help even more!! :yay:

We loove to go overboard and have totally shipped decorations boxes down ahead of time too! we love to have a christmas tree down there with ornaments and lights during the holiday time, stockings, candy canes & of course the door sign for people to drop us little notes!! Get creative and you will have a blast!!

Thanks Michelle for the great ideas. I knew you could ship stuff to the cruise ahead of time but had no idea you could ship stuff to the resorts. How do you do it??

When I looked at your pictures of the window you decorated I though you put something over the window but rereading you actually wrote on the window right? With the suite we are getting there is a sliding glass door in the living room area. I would love to decorate that but not sure what I could do that will not be a pain to go in and out of. Even though we are going to be there for New years and not Christmas I would love to decorate for Christmas. I totally go "Overboard" on my house at Christmas, we meaning I, put up 5 trees. The outside of our house looks like the Griswolds and each one of my trees is themed. Oh course my favorite is my Disney. I would love to be able to have a touch of Christmas in our Disney room too. YAY!!

I was wondering if I would still need to bring an extension cord if I bring along a power strip with a small cord attached to it? I can't remember how far the outlets are away from the window at POP Century.

Yes, you will still need an extension chord even if you have the power strip. I want to say it's a good 6ft away maybe????

YESSSS you can ship to and from the resort. All you need is the name and address of the resort you are staying at.

I ship mine UPS (so it gets therequicker and i can track it)
and I ship it 2 weeks before arrival, so i have plenty of time to make sure it gets there and re-ship it if any problems should arise.

This is what I put:

DisneyMommyMichelle (my real name though!) Guest
Reservation # arr 11/29 dept 12/8
C/O Walt Disney WOrld POP Century Resort
555 Pop Century ROad (no clue what the address is right now)
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32821

I used window markers by Crayola on my window and they would be PERFECT for your sliding doors! It would be soo much fun!!! Hobby Lobby has really cute small trees out right now and a 40% off coupon online at www.hobbylobby.com :)
