Hi, I was simply looking around for some help to get my rooms renovated and this brought me to this place. No wonder I have never been to the Disney but the discussions and that too so many of them that I read here gave me enough inspiration on the ways I should go about my tasks to accomplish my mission. I am now looking forward to introduce the Disney characters in the room and not only would the kids love it, it would change the entire complexion of the rooms.

Yes, you will still need an extension chord even if you have the power strip. I want to say it's a good 6ft away maybe????

I need help. I have never done this before but it sounds fun fun and DMIL loves the idea too. We will have adjoining rooms at ASMu so 2 windows and doors. I want to do a Halloween theme since we are going to MNSSHP. Give me ideas. I want lights but I need cheap ones, any suggestions or places to look for these?

Last year I got some Halloween lights from the dollar store. They were just like regular Christmas lights but all black. If you find them just make sure they work before you buy them!

Yup! dollar store if you go with just basic lights with nothing on them! Which is really all you need! You will have a blast decorating! They also have smaller strands of purple and Orange at Wal Mart for .88, just get 2 of them! Get plastic spiders (1.00 walmart) and dangle them from the top of the window frame or have them crawling on the door by attaching them with tape

They have bats, skeletons etc. for 1.00 each too and you can dangle those from the window too! I wish I had a picture of my MNSSHP window when we went for halloween in 05 and 06!!

USe black and orange Mickey Head Paint Chips from HOme Depot to write stuff on too!!!

oh boy for thanksgiving it would be cute if you could find some pilgrim mickey;s & minnie's! maybe have daisy & donald as the indians sharing thier feast! too sweet...a turkey body { paper cut out form the dollar store or even the window clings} use the earth tone mickey heads for the turkey feathers maybe...i work with 4 year olds so most of my inspiration is on their level...heehee ....have a wonderful time .... reading the boards and dreaming of mickey heads all over the place...now to get the nerve to actually get soem mickey heads! i can intice dpawpaw to get me soem maybe?? worth a try...i'll trade him 2 days of not having to hear about the mouse for a handfull of all colors of mickey heads....gonna add soem lil bows from scrapbook stuff to the mickey heads to make'em minnies! sweet!

TOO COOL ABOUT TWO WINDOWS TO DECORATE,STILL WORKING ON MY FAMILY TO GET THEM TO NOT LOOK AT ME LIKE A NUT WHEN I MENTION IT! I WILL HAVE TO GET THE GRANDKIDS ON MY SIDE ,SHOULD BE EASY! ANYWAYS,I SAW CANDY CORN LIGHTS AT BIG LOTS LAST NIGHT. THEY WERE $3 A STRAND BUT REALLY CUTE...THEY HAD SOME SOLID ORANGE ONE'S BUT NOT SURE OF THE PRICE ON THEM...YOU COULD MAYBE PUT A BLACK MICKEY HEAD OVER THE FACE OF A PAPER BAT OR A BLACK CAT...A MINNIE WITCH...JUST SME IDEAS THAT POPPED INTO MY HEAD THIS EARLY IN THE A.M....HOPE THIS HELPS A BIT AND HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME! TELL MICKEY WE WILL SEE HIM SOON.. <<NANNA,ELLI & BLAZE WILL BE DOING A HAPPY DANCE AS WE ENJOY OUR WACKY ROOM DECOR!

We have never had any problems with the kids putting things on the windows or decorating the room. As long as there is no damage. We go to Disney every year.

Last year I got some orange LCD lights at Walgreen's, I think they were 2 strands for $5. A little more expensive than the dollar store lights, but they are supposed to last really long, and they run "cool", meaning bulbs don't heat up when you run them, so there is much less chance of fire if they touch paper or other flammable stuff. They are supposed to use a lot less electricity, too, if you want them to decorate at home. They are also a lot brighter than regular lights. The orange are nice, but if you try to get white ones for Christmas or whatever, they are REALLY bright and have a bluish cast to them, so you don't get the same ambience as a string of white italian lights. Target usually has them, too. And Target also has them for Christmas in all shapes and colors.

Now, the bad influence part! After spending way to much time on this board last week, I wanted to report that on Friday night, I pulled off my first ever heist of LGMHs!! Yep, walked right into HD and grabbed a bunch! But I also got orange, purple and black, too, so my Halloween window will be multi-colored!!

Thanks for all the great window and door decorating ideas. What I know is that I have WAY too many halloween decorations, so it will be interesting to see what I come up with that won't take up too much room. I'll be there the end of Oct, and try to post some pics when I return.

I will be down there in a couple weeks and we will have are room all decked out at all star sports. I will take pics and post them when we get back can't wait to go. I am counting the days

Thanks DisneyJazz for all the ideas. Now finding the things to do it with! I also went to HD on saturday a did the LGMH swipe and a few of the red,black and white also. My husband looked at me like I had a few loose marbles. Oh well he'll think they are cute when I put them up in our room. Can't wait to see everyone's pictures.

well, we leave tomorrow for our weeklong stay at ASMu family suites. my kids don't even know yet! it's a total surprise!! i'm so unprepared, that it's driving me crazy!! i couldn't find any light strands around here, and i never got around to ordering any, so i guess im outta luck! i'm thinking i may see what the stores down there have and maybe i'll be able to come up with something. we have lots of home depot mickey heads that i'll sprinkle all over the windows, and a few signs to hang. the kids will most likely set up their mickey plush, and my dd has her american girl dolls all dressed for halloween already, in their princess gowns. i'm sneeking them in a suitcase, and taking them with us. at least it will be something...

Good luck! If they have their halloween stuff out yet, they have the CUTest Mickey head pumpkin lights in all the resort gift shops. IF not, the Christmas shoppe in MK and DTD have GREAT mickey head shaped Christmas lights!
