Decorating your resort room?

We use markers all the time, make sure you clean it up before you leave! (the CRAYOLA kind comes clean with a wet wash cloth! it was soo easy!!)

As far as a door sign, I decorate a posterboard with whatever our theme is and then I leave it blank in the middle for people to sign their names on! I attach a marker to the door with a string and tape :) :)

I also make a mini calendar and put it on my door with info on where we are going! IT says:

Today the XXX family is in:

MONDAY
======
Magic Kingdom

Tuesday
========
Typhoon LAgoon

Or something like that! It's really neat to have people write on our door that they were at the same park that day or something like that!! :laughing:

Do people acutally sign it??? That sounds neat.........

It all depends on where your room is. Every yr since POP opened and at POFQ and CSR we have ALWAYS ALWAYS been on the ground floor and had to change our poster board DAILY it was sooo full of siggies!! BUT this year we were on the 3rd floor and had 5 signatures IF that many!!! :sad2: it was sad! haah!

We're going to SSR for our one year wedding anniversary in less than two weeks. I'm super crafty and do lots of scrapbooking...at work I'm the official poster/chart maker so I can handle all sorts of detailed projects...I just don't have a lot of time to come up with/execute the ideas.

I like the idea of the little mickey heads on the door and making a garland with them, but it pretty much ends there. Any ideas/knowledge of the window size etc (we're staying in a studio) that can help me out? Thanks!

I can't help you on window size, but i always bring 2 strands of lights just in case :)

As far as decor, pick a theme and go from there! It's sooo easy to have the idea flow once you get a theme going!

I was at Target a couple of days ago and they had a bunch of Star Wars stuff in their dollor section. They had pens, magnetic note paper, stickers, and a bunch of other stuff too. Of course we had to buy everything! My DH is a big SW geek. You could see if they still have anything you could use.

As much as my family loves Disney, they almost laughed me out of the house when I told them I wanted to put a door sign on our room door this November. What a bunch of party poopers! I was so excited about the idea, I even had someone from the DIS site make me a sign that I was going to use, and I was going to put it on matching tshirts. They are no fun! They loved it when they were little (6 and 10)and I surprised them with autographed pics of Darkwing Duck in the room. I guess they're just too old now ( 16 and 20)! They are very excited about our upcoming trip (it will be 4 years since our last trip, but this was just too much for them! Sigh!

I made some signs and laminated them- then posted them in our window and on our door for our Disneymoon in Jan. It was a lot of fun and we got lots of congratulations and fun comments from fellow guests!

My family made fun of me when i told them i wanted to decorate our room but when we got there and i started decorating they all pitched in. i have a picture of our door i will post and when we left we took all the mickeys on our door and stuck them on doors that were on the floor of our hotel. the mousekeeper thought it was so cute we were sharing our decorations.

I think I am going to print off some Star Wars stuff and see if I can find white christmas lights to string on the balcony. Wondering where I might those at this time of year...LOL!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! sorry it's been so long!! My dad was hospitalized with heart problems as soon as we got back and now that he is back at his house he needs round the clock care...soo needless to say i've been busy getting over there when i can :) and now i'm just tired! BUT i will get them on soon!!! i promise!!

We are driving from Michigan and I'm already concerned about what's getting packed into the car. However, I remember being at POP at Cmas and seeing the great decorations. We didn't bring many with us but had some.

I want to do this again as it was fun and will make it easy for the little one to locate the room.

Okay, so since room in the car is limited, here's what I've come up with: I have 2 face pillows from several years ago - One Mickey who graces the top of the shelves in the Mickey bathroom and One goofy. The girls can use them for pillows in the car and we can use them to decorate the window! yea! I may even include the Best of Mickey Cmas light set that's in the bathroom.... hmmm.... (Will I need an extension cord to plug them in?)

Hey xyz!! Isn't it madness!!! we actually vacumn pack them all and then my dh lays on top of the bag when we leave. We drive down every trip!! we have so much fun doing this and my dd loves it!!

On our last night I woke up to this weird sound coming from our door. I told my husband that someone was trying to open up our door, when we looked out it ended up being our neighbors( who thought we had checked out because we had taken down our window decorations because of our early departure ) They were taking down all of our Mickey Heads that I had taped on our door. What a scare they got when we opened up the door. After a good laugh we told them to take them and put them on their door. :rotfl2:
