December 200 6advice please

Am planning a long weekend in 12/06 to see the CP and enjoy a little WDW Christmas spirit. My understanding is crowds are generall low in early Dec. I have a few questions:

Does Pop Warner impact crowds/attendance at parks?

Do they always tape teh Christmas Parade the first weekend in Dec?

I'm trying to decide between weekend of 12/2 or 12/9.

To the best of my knowledge, the parade has been taped that first week-end in Dec. I was there for the taping on Friday morning, and MK was a zoo. Sat was even worse!!! But if you did a different park on those taping days you should be fine.
As far as the Pop Warner kids goes.....I have been there twice now at the same time as the groups and have had no issues at all. Yes, you will run into them at the value resorts and one or two of the moderate resorts but that's about it. They are busy during the day in their competitions. I haven't noticed any huge increase in the crowds at the parks because of the kids so far. I'm planning on going down that first week-end in Dec again next year, so it couldn't have been bad last week!!!!

Just returned from our trip 11/29-12/5.

We stayed at Beach Club Villas

I can tell you that we have gone during the first week of December in years past and this was the busiest. Although, wait times for lines seemed to be on average 20-30 minutes. I was suprised at the amount of people that were there.

The Christmas parade was taped on 12/2 & 3, but I don't know if this happens every year.

Pop Warner ~ I wouldn't have known if they were there or not

The weather was cool. We were in jeans in jackets or sweat shirts every day and every night. We went to the party on the 1st and we were cold, but prepared for it.

We had the BEST time!!! I will always try to go this time of year! On Tue before MVMCP we went early (park hoppers) to MK and then the wonderland tea party at GF. So we were at Mk around 10-12, it was so quiet! DD rode all she wanted to with 5-10min waits and then we came back and stayed on through our MVMCP and the lines actually got shorter! We had such a great time on the 13th. The 12th at MGM there wasnt anyone around. DD was walked by Donald Duck but she paniced and told him she couldnt go with him she had to stay with her mom and dad. It was priceless but at 5 I can see why she was worried because we had told her all week to stay by us!!! Friday the 16th we could tell it was busier but I had expected that! Have a good trip!
