Baggage carts at SSR? Bell services is available to help with bags

Aulani tax ? Members have to pay

Will GC be available on points due to construction at DLH?
MS is looking into it

Meeting ran 12 minutes over

The team will stay after meeting to answer questions

when someone who is either at the meeting now or has been to a meeting has time, could you explain the process of who gets to ask questions? are they pre-screened? some of these questions (or at least the answers) seem lame. (why would a DVC member get free internet at Coronado Springs? please!)

They just lined up:)

Yeah she wants the perk because she had to stay at CSR due to no DVC availability

Can you clarify the free dining question?

When you get a chance could you elaborate on the outsourcing discussion? Thanks.

JL said that outsourcing is a biz tool and DVD will continue to evaluate as needed. Nothing specific identified for outsourcing just responding to question on when it was going to stop.

I really do not like that they make announcement such as the loyality program and then do not go ahead and explain the specifics.

I think they really set themselves up for complaints.

I really don't like that no one asked about the resale rumors. Not that I think JL would have given a good answer.

A mmber with over 1600 points asked if DVC was considering it. JL said yes and they are very close. He said you won't have to own 1600 points and referrals would count toward tiers.
Lots of hi poin owners at meeting and the comment drew a round of applause.

No details exactly just that it was coming

The fact that no one asked about the resale rumor IMO shows that most members are not even aware of it.
They want perks, clean rooms and free valet. Lol!

the loyalty program will be interesting to see. I wish I could have been there--I would have gotten up and asked about the resale rumor. someday I am going to have to plan a WDW trip during the annual meeting so I can ask the "loaded" question.

Here is the thing that bothers me about special perks for higher points.

Its one thing if they give them a 20% discount, or 2 free tickets or something like that for members that have 1000+ points

HOWEVER

if they give them an advantage on the booking window then I will be upset. Now the replys I will get to that will be, a) I paid X ammt for my points I deserve extra perks, and that may be true to the above points. However just because you paid more money should not give you benifits that are a DETRIMENT to other members.

Why should DVC care? After all 1 200 point member vs 1 1600 point member obviously the 1600 point member is more important, which I can understand. However I am willing to bet a LOT of money that there are many more 200 point members then 1600 point members. In fact I am willing to bet the percentage is overwhelming. There are more moderate and value rooms then deluxe rooms for a reason!

If you irritate/frustrate 10 members simply to give the 1 1600 member a benefit, then it is a loss for the membership and for DVC.

Don't get me wrong I am all for loyalty programs, I use them myself, however 1pt SHOULD = 1pt. I might be getting upset prematurely however I felt the need to express my opinion in this respect.

End of rant, thanks for listening and NOT FLAMING.

Jennifer

Jennifer this is the very reason I hate for them to release a tidbit and not the specifics. Until they are ready to actually release it, then either keep it to themselves or just go ahead and share the facts.

Of course I am sure JL wanted to be back safely at his office before that happens.

Jennifer, I don't think DVC would be prepared for the feedback they would get if they gave priority bookings to a small handfull of members based on the number of points they own. DVC Mgmt is not stupid. They know guests satisfaction would suffer. I think your first assesment of discounts and smaller perks are more likely candidates. We all fear the unknown, but in this case I think your fears of priority bookings are unnecessary.

I don't post THAT often but I do read the DVC boards quite a bit, I like to be informed. The only reason I mentioned priority bookings I that I have seen that discussed and I am pretty sure some of the other timeshares do have policies like that.

I am a certified worrywart so it probably will come to nothing, but hey that's me.

BTW I agree I haven't seen any company publicly announce anything that could be construed as negative in a while. To much worry I am sure in getting pelted with rotten veggies I guess. :)

Thanks for such cordial replies too!

Jennifer

Not to upset Jennifer, but honestly with Jim Lewis at the lead I think any program that has been introduced recently in the timeshare world would be something that he would consider.

There was a time that DVC actually tried to be different from other timeshares but each year they become more and more like the rest.

This is a example of a recent rewards program and honestly I could see DVC going with something similar.

ASHEVILLE, NC (March 8, 2010) — The Festiva Adventure Club recently launched a Loyalty Program for select members that offers more services, amenities and flexibility to both new and existing members who have purchased higher levels of annual points.

Members who qualify for this program can take advantage of accommodations upgrades, early check-in, late check-out, a priority phone line, priority reservation windows and more. The Loyalty Program also offers special vacationing opportunities throughout the year to certain resorts within the Festiva Adventure Club family and Exclusive Escapes to properties worldwide that are outside of Festiva’s network of resorts.

Thanks all. I tapped all that out on my I4! Lol!! I don't tweet but followed Tim also.

Thanks Mike for the great pics!

It appeared JL was a bit irritated with all the perk questions. He is not interested if it costs money:)

The planners are now good for 2 years. We will not receive another until the 2013-14 is released. The point charts will be released yearly.

Btw Sonja looks great. I hope her weight loss was healthy and not due to illness. It's not always good thing, but she looked healthy
