DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Joining the club, better late than never. I went to WDW a couple of times as a kid, a couple of times with my first wife and kids, and now nearly annually with my second (and last) wife and kids. Next trip is right before Thanksgiving 2016.

WooHoo! And just like that, I'm not the new guy anymore. Welcome aboard! When are you going before Turkey Day? I'll be at BC with the fam damily the 15th-22nd

psst...Who gets to tell him about the hazing?

Im not sure what's gonna hurt more in the morning, my head or my wallet.

Had an interesting morning. Played tennis (singles) for almost 2 hours, DW brought the dds to me and I hit them balls for another 90 minutes, and then I came home and cut the grass. I drank lots of water and Gatorade, but just for fun, I jumped on the scale and had lost 5 pounds since this morning. It did take me awhile to recover, but I'm functioning well again.

Afternoon boys from sunny London. Halfway through a brunch with bottomless champagne, so if I message you all later telling you I love you all, please disregard.

Drinking and posting is frowned upon these parts. We lost the whole thread that should not be mentioned to that type of behavior.

Morning all, spending the morning with all things Olympics. Unlike our American cousins, we get to watch things live.

Watching as well. I still don't get the subjective sports like gymnastics though, points deductions through judges.

Haven't heard the final count yet but based on the previous years classes, they should have about 10 each in their classes and around 100 in the whole school.

d.

That's a good size. Hope they survive it, preferably enjoy it.

Im not sure what's gonna hurt more in the morning, my head or my wallet.

I kinda figured if it were bottomless champagne, you were sober enough to pay the price, which means your head will be the one hurting.

Morning chaps, from sunny London. 1st game in the new stadium today, so get to see my new seat. I see a beer and a hot dog in my near future.

Have a great Sunday all.

Morning folks. Been off the boards for a few days, so prayers, woots, or whatever as needed.
Got a call last night to come in to work today... said no.
Then an hour later changed my mind and here I am.

I figured that was the only way I was going to catch up on the DIS!

What do you get to see?
West Ham, I was born about a mile from the old ground and we've just moved into the Olympic stadium from 2012.
Juventus were at ours today. Premier league starts when I'm away, so wanted to get my head around what's what.

Cool!

DS and DW are Man U fans and would love to get across the pond to see a match.

Happy Sunday. It is a beautiful, sunny day here. Baked bread, went to Mass, tennis this afternoon, and swim party for DD tonite. 2 more days before school.

Go to work for Distime. Sounds like your management material. :lmao:

I enjoy the Premier League. We usually get one match on Saturday afternoons. I don't really have a favorite team to follow, but enjoy the skill level. It is a lot better than MLS.

You can fly me across the pond with you for any match. :lmao:

I won't comment on DW & DS shocking taste in teams, but if your over one year during the season, we normally have a ticket going. About 12 of us go together as season ticket holders. My FIL is a Man U fan, again he was born in Manchester, about 10 mins from the ground, so he comes with us every year to watch West Ham v Man U, and sits on his hands, because if he cheered an away goal, he be getting a free ride home with London's finest ambulance service.

Let me know if you want me to pick you up a half and half match day scarf and a programme for the Man U game, and I'll sort something out. Maybe something to do with Bacon and Dole whips.

Is that with Brad Friedel and Shaka Hislop on the panel? Fox Sports?

Then the Happy Hammers are your only logical choice, my friend. I picked really badly on my American Sports teams, so someone should have to share the pain.

It was the choices after the bottomless champagne, or because of it, that started to worry the bank manager.

I figured that was the only way I was going to catch up on the DIS!
Nice work, you sneaky fella you. And welcome back.

Thank you! We were safe, wet, but safe.

Trust everything is OK now, Randall. We wouldn't want the bacon to be soggy.
Celebrated my 10the anniversary on Thursday.
Well congrats on that sir.

Nice! DD played club soccer (futbol) here until numerous knee surgeries ended it at 17. She has coaching license and would like to get into coaching young ones when her time frees up. I was on the local club BODs for 5 years including 4 as president so we are a soccer family.

Good luck to the DD on the coaching.
It's amazing how much the game has grown over there in the last 20 years or so. I played up until I was 26 or so, when I was playing for about 4 amateur teams, and then work got in the way. At my cousins BBQ's though, we still get the goal out and all my nephews take penalties at me for about 2 hrs. Hurts more every year.

Greetings from the Sunshine State. Earl did not come near us but the outlying bands sure have. Over six inches in the last couple of days. Wish we could export some of this water to the West. Missed a few days bailing water but will try to catch up.

Some pics from out cruise a few weeks ago

Good looking family. Guessing the bozo on your left in the Palo pic is the SIL to be. Since I did not read of anyone being lost at sea, I am assuming he made it back to shore.

Hey TN DisDads. Need a little help. Family vacation of the in-laws (four families with four children ranging 2-7) will be converging at a cabin in Sevierville , TN for a extra long weekend. Looking for a few places to visit as a group and a good place for the adult children of the group (six of us total) to go out one night while the adult parents stay back and watch the kiddos. It doesn't have to be fancy but since there will be six of us, might be good if they took reservations (nice, but not required). Just looking for somewhere fun where we talk and get a nice meal and some drinks. Any suggestions?
