DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Joining the club, better late than never. I went to WDW a couple of times as a kid, a couple of times with my first wife and kids, and now nearly annually with my second (and last) wife and kids. Next trip is right before Thanksgiving 2016.
Welcome Mate to off-topic central. Bring cold beer. And some kind of pork product.

Happy Friday. Somehow, I managed to be made Captain on a Mixed Doubles team, and we opened last night with a 3-0 sweep. We've got another match scheduled tonight.

On the news front, I left my windows down yesterday and it stormed with them down. I've tried towels to dry it out, but it smells bad inside. I'm getting ready to dump bleach in it. :headache:

Have a better smelling weekend than me.

So getting all the final stuff done prior to vacation. It's definitely getting harder to keep the kids from bouncing off the walls. Last night, my oldest daughter sat with me and made me watch youtube videos of all our ADR's and some of the rides she wants to go on this go around. :)

Yeah, I still get that extra excitement as well.

Happy Friday Guys.

Good day of golf yesterday. Called off the course for lightning for about an hour but the organizers put on a good show and it was still a great day. We didn't win but we weren't last either.

So who has plans for the weekend?

At least it wasn't a scene like the one from Caddyshack.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You mail 800+ to me and then I mail to all the guys. Never been during Thanksgiving, but we are hoping to make a MVMCP one year.

Friday afternoon waiting room time. SWMBO had two MD appointments up in the big city. One was cancelled which didn't make us happy after a two hour drive to get here. Hopefully the next will go well. Wish we could do something different. Now that the kids start school on Monday it limits our options since it is four hours on the road up and back. First world problems I know. At least we have doctors.

welcome new guys, congrats
where appropriate and may your next visit be on the calendar

Sorry to hear about the cancellations. We paid $500 in dues this year with the oldest starting HS. Good luck to your children on the school year

OK, I'll call it. The work week is officially over. Everyone out.

I wish, they just told me that they are moving my staff at this hospital out of our offices. They don't know where they are moving us too, or when they are doing it. <gah> But have to walk around and tell everyone and then send out an email, and then...F it... I am going on vacation after I tell everyone about this.

Well that sucks. I'll definitely buy you a beer.

Heh. Talked to my wife, and she is fine with meeting where ever and whenever. So you let me know the best time and place, and as long as no ADR at that time, then we shall meet and share in the the warm glow of vacation. :)

Thanks. Best wishes to yours. DD is going to be in 7th and DS in 9th. yeah.

Hello Dad's, hope you're having a good weekend. I've been off the grid this week enjoying my time off.

Celebrated my 10the anniversary on Thursday. Unfortunately DW wasn't feeling that well so we didn't get out for dinner or do anything else "special" :guilty: but we did get out for a picnic at Cape Spear lighthouse. It was a beautiful day, enjoyed watching a few boats and some humpback whales. So not too bad overall.

It looks like some of you have kids going back to school soon. Ours don't go back until first week of September, after Labour Day, so I still have some time to enjoy the summer with them.Of course if I'm being honest, as much as I like the summer with the girls, there is part of me that likes to get them back in the school routine.

Any other DisDads do the off-property thing without an extreme amount of guilt?
I stayed off property in a rental home my first trip in 2008. It wasn't bad. Although I enjoy being "in the bubble" now, with a group as large as yours, it wouldn't bother me to be off site. In fact, whenever I do get another trip in, I'm thinking of making it an extended family affair with both sets of parents (mine & DW), so will definitely look off site for that.

Welcome to the group!

Bad luck there. Hopefully the smell gradually gets better. Or you just get used to it. Or use it as an excuse to buy something new?

Top O the Mornin Dads! Have a great weekend, that is all.

Congrats on the 10 years

3 Days left until we fly out. Woot! And I am done with work until the 23rd.
Enjoy and send some pics when you can to help the rest of us get through the days - cheers

Happy Saturday morning. Another tennis team match yesterday and we finished 1-1. The rubber match won't be until Sunday due to the weather as we had a team elect not to play. I went to parent freshman orientation meeting yesterday. Our high school has almost 1800 students, with my dd's freshman class being 500. She's always had one of the largest classes. I guess 2002 was a great year to have babies. :lmao:

Thanks. Best wishes to yours. DD is going to be in 7th and DS in 9th. yeah.

Good luck. I forget ours are the same ages/ grades. How big is the school?

Happy Anniversary. I agree with you on both points, that school should start after Labor Day, u or no u, and I'm ready to put them back in there now. We don't get much down time, especially with the summer swim schedule.

As for the car, it would be way cheaper to detail it than to buy something new. I'm just too cheap to do that, but I may have to.

Afternoon boys from sunny London. Halfway through a brunch with bottomless champagne, so if I message you all later telling you I love you all, please disregard.

Morning all, spending the morning with all things Olympics. Unlike our American cousins, we get to watch things live.

Happy Anniversary! Picnic at Cape Spear would be nice.

Labour Day for the kids here as well; DW is back to work the week before.

Glad you managed to leave work.

Happy Saturday morning. Another tennis team match yesterday and we finished 1-1. The rubber match won't be until Sunday due to the weather as we had a team elect not to play. Good luck tomorrow.

That is about the same size as DS's high school. It is usually between 1800 and 2000 students and it is too small. There use to be just one high school here and it was about 4000 students.

Drunk texts/posts could be interesting.

Now in a cocktail bar on the roof in soho. This could get very messy. I love you all already.

Haven't heard the final count yet but based on the previous years classes, they should have about 10 each in their classes and around 100 in the whole school.

Thankfully i was travelling during the "thread that shall not be mentioned", but lets not have any repeats.

What out for the werewolf.

Especially if he has a Chinese menu in his hand.
