DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Happy Thursday morning. Sitting in orthodontist office once again to adjust/ replace a bracket. Had a productive morning off from work in getting my oil changed and a quick trip to the grocery store. DW registered the dds for school and dropped $500 on school fees. Can't believe they still start school here in August before Labor Day in Sept. :scared1:

I had that twice in a week. Ripped out the vanity unit, dry as a bone, couldn't understand it.. Turned out DS had been called to nature in the middle of the night, and was trying to pee in the sink.
?

Normally, that response would be followed by the question, "was he drunk?". But, at age 5, that also provides the solution. :lmao:

Playing in a charity golf tournament later today so that's good. But I'm still jealous of all of you with trips coming up shortly, especially given I don't see one on our horizon.
.

Good luck. Not sure it will add or subtract from your jealousy. We have a trip booked in October to Disney's Vero Beach Resort but I haven't figured out how to pay for it.

Greetings Disdads from sunny London.

Nothing to report.

Carry on.

Hello All from Sunny Ohio! I have 4 days until Disney and I am working the last day prior to vacation. Well, I have some meetings on Mondays, but I will be doing those from home.

So getting all the final stuff done prior to vacation. It's definitely getting harder to keep the kids from bouncing off the walls. Last night, my oldest daughter sat with me and made me watch youtube videos of all our ADR's and some of the rides she wants to go on this go around. :)

Happy Friday Guys.

Good day of golf yesterday. Called off the course for lightning for about an hour but the organizers put on a good show and it was still a great day. We didn't win but we weren't last either.

So who has plans for the weekend?

Hey fellow DisDads. DW and I are starting to already look at our 2017 trip. This one may include my parents and possible my nieces. Based on the number of folks going and the required sleeping arrangements, it looks like staying off-property may be a real win. I know that there will be added cost of parking, transportation, and time, but I'm seeing a huge savings. It really HURTS to even think about not staying in the "bubble". Any other DisDads do the off-property thing without an extreme amount of guilt?

We've never done a WDW only trip while staying off-site. We have been off-site and done a one day visit to a park and it does feel different when you come to the park. Staying on-site and visiting the parks has more of a feel of being home to me. When staying off-site you are just a guest.

That being said, I can certainly see the reason for a large group to stay off-site.

Well this is bit weird. Suspect package in our building so have been evacuated. Part of working in the city......

We did offsite about 4 years ago, and to be honest it was fine. There were 10 in our party, so we just couldn't do onsite for anywhere close to the cost. We are doing 7 next year, and I am renting a camper and staying at fort wilderness. Stayed in the Cabins last year when we had 6, and that was fine in all honesty. Depends on the total numbers and what you want. :)

Joining the club, better late than never. I went to WDW a couple of times as a kid, a couple of times with my first wife and kids, and now nearly annually with my second (and last) wife and kids. Next trip is right before Thanksgiving 2016.

Welcome aboard!

Did you have to call in a false alarm? ;)

Enjoy the vacation!

Man people are coming out of the wood works today. I have had like three of four physicians that I never work with ask me for stuff that has to be done today. <sigh>

But I guess it is always nice to be wanted.

Happy Friday gentlemen. May your afternoon fly by and may your weekend crawl. DD is back home from San Diego so all under one roof again for a bit until we pack 'em up next week.

Hey Randall, I know its late, but hoping you were not affected by the flooding in MD.

............and we're back in the building
Good to hear it was nothing

Friday afternoon waiting room time. SWMBO had two MD appointments up in the big city. One was cancelled which didn't make us happy after a two hour drive to get here. Hopefully the next will go well. Wish we could do something different. Now that the kids start school on Monday it limits our options since it is four hours on the road up and back. First world problems I know. At least we have doctors.

welcome new guys, congrats
where appropriate and may your next visit be on the calendar
