DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Depressing day today. Glad they got the BAS****.

'Morning all...
It's only a bit after 8:00 and we're already busting out the ice tea and hand fans down this way. should be absolutely intolerable by noon. Just adds a bit more misery to the bad news desending upon my home state.

Three in the same general area and two of those were close in time on the same stretch of beach. Very unusual and likely the same animal. They've stepped up surveillance and it been quiet since.

I think Brett is up on the Delaware coast, so he should be fine.

Don't be out that deep flapping around and looking a whole lot like a seal playing in the water, and you've got little to worry about. Statistically, cows are far more dangerous then sharks. just sayin'...

It is normal temp wise down here, doubt we are the warmest place on the East Coast today. It is warm though and remember everyone; hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Yes, you don't want to pretend you are a seal. Here are 25 things that are more likely to kill you than sharks, watch out for those vending machines...

Having said that, my intrepid diver went on a scary night dive the other night. Current was a bear and at one point, whipped them around part of an island. She also ran into a black tip reef shark that didn't like having a flashlight shinning on him and rushed her a couple of times. All is well though. The only complaint is they just yesterday replaced the science person that got deported and while they were trying before that, the science component is lacking. I smell a refund.

Sitting in the hotel waiting to go out to dinner and I turn on the TV to find Emergency. I haven't seen the guys in squad 51 in a long time. Laverne and Shirley, Gilligan's Island and Hogan's Heroes coming up after.

Sounds like a solid line up. Enjoy the evening.

Just wrapping up another day. We are in pretty good shape in the field this year, at least until the remnants of TS Bill get here and then I had a late program. The speaker wouldn't shut up but unfortunately I was the speaker. I can tell I've been doing this stuff too long. I've become like the old guys I made fun of who could stand up for an hour with no slides and just drone on. I did 90 minutes.

Hoping you all can get an early start on the weekend.

Cut grass today and then played tennis a few hours later. Definitely the first time in 15 years that I did two activities that caused me to sweat that much.

Well, it certainly is an experience of a lifetime.

Japanese sailor episode on Gilligan's Island right now.

Did they make it off the island?

.

Wawawawawawawa. You could have shown 200 PPT slides of writing which would have been even more boring.

Awesome. I'd watch all of those..

That's a good one, too.

Did they make it off the island?

I don't see why not, everyone else does.

Bethany Beach, DE.

Nope. Still too close to NC for me!

I missed the end but my guess would be no.

Your guess would be wrong!
The last episode aired in 1967 in 1978 they were rescued... took a while. What was the professor doing all that time?
No wait. I don't care. What was Marianne and Ginger doing?

Sorry. Anyway, they get rescued in 1978, only to be shipwrecked back on it later.
Then they get rescued for good in 1979... but then move back.
The Harlem Globetrotters visit in 1981.

I presume Ginger had radical plastic surgery on the island somehow (so that's what the professor was doing!) somewhere between 1967 and 1978.
Presumably she wasn't happy with the results since she looked completely different again in 1981.

:rolleyes1

Top O the Morning Dads! A bit crazy these days with day job restructure and DW had car accident on Monday this week - no one hurt. Wife turning on green arrow, other driver runs red light, witnesses statements that other driver ran red light, police report list witnesses and yet this lady wants to dispute so her insurance company, State Farm, is dragging their backsides. Oh and I forgot one other point, other driver's own statement in police report "I thought it was still green", and I have to argue with State Farm to get them to get us a check for repairs :headache:

Since our fearless leader has things going on, thought I would back him up for just this morning - hope ya don't mind Randall:

Morning guys,

There is a station down here (Me TV) that airs those type of shows. Every once in a while I would flip to it and watch.

Hi Paul!

...and Good Morning My Disney Friends!

Have gotten busy with life so no history. We'll see if we may get back to it.

No problems I hope.

ugh. Glad you DW is okay though. Hopefully the insurance will work out, sounds like everyone (well except for one person) agrees on who's at fault.
Reminds me of the time my Mom got hit. She went through an intersection and this guy from the opposite direction turns left and runs into her.
His claim? He had the green turn signal and she went through a red light. I asked her where it happened. She told me. "Intersection of X and Y streets."
I couldn't help it. I started to laugh.
"There is no turn signal at that intersection." Needless to say, he was found at fault.

Sorry to hear it and glad she's ok. Good luck fighting the insurance company.

Classic show. Hard to believe it was only on for 3 seasons.
