Woo-hoo! Tuesday afternoon Ownage!

I know it's afternoon, but I signed on with intentions of saying good morning. Just a lot of work around here, nothing fun.

DD had an AAU hoop game last night. They won 30 something to 6. Not sure there is a lot of competition in the league other than my town team and we do not meet up until the playoffs assuming they make it to us (yes, DD plays on 2 teams, both in the same league. I coach the town, but not the AAU). DD had 8 points and a bunch of rebounds. She has been going to strength and agility training and looks really good out there running around.

A few thunder storms last night. A lot of tornado warnings (not common here), but nothing significant. Have a great Tuesday everyone. We all know what day tomorrow is.

Of course not. Never write it down. Deny. Deny. Deny.

Yes, post pictures. I could show those shorts to a kid trying to date my daughter. I could say, "see what I did to the last kid". :lmao:

DS has already heard some of the stories so he knows that no matter what he does, he's OK. At 14 and no significant craziness, he's at least 6 years behind my shenanigans already.:good vibes

I second a pic of those shorts in order to prepare for the day when a boy dares enter the house.

Good morning guys, who else is excited for the Grand opening of Diagon Alley at Universal today?!?! ;crickets chirp; Looking forward to my Dark side and WDW trips coming up, 71 days till the dark side trip!

I thought we might go check it out in August when we are there, but the kids were not all that interested, at least not $560 (the cost of tix) interested. DS decided he would rather go on a fishing excursion on our resort day. DD just wants to shop and buy everything possible.:rotfl2::rotfl2: Let us know how it is. We did go to the original park when it opened and it was impressive.

Morning guys!

Just curious; who's going to follow up the bottle-rocket story today? :confused3 That was some good stuff! :rotfl:

I would, but I'm not sure the statute of limitations has expired yet.:scratching :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I will def let everyone know how it's is. It's kindof funny seeing people tweet from the grand opening, the 375 min wait to ride gringotts and then women posting pics of them crying while entering Diagon Alley. To each their own I guess, I'm excited for my trips coming up but Wow those women are really happy.

What is your area of lawyering Rob?

Background is corporate commercial litigation. Currently I am in house legal counsel in the Canadian head office of a global engineering and construction company. Mostly I just try to keep the company out of trouble and help get deals done. :coffee:

I would, but somewhere along the way, those shorts were thrown out. Sadly, no visual evidence still exists.

Where'd everyone go?

Congrats to DD and wish her continued success.

Is there much need for legal work in Canada? :confused3 People are so nice up there...

Classic effort. :lmao:

As the current resident DisDad legal counsel, I would advise you to plead the 5th Amendment. :rotfl2:
I hope you embrace all of the stereotypes that lawyers get. My dad is a lawyer and he used to have this nice cassette storage unit for his depositions and he'd tape funny lawyer cartoons to it and I'll always remember one that had a couple being held up by 2 robbers, with wife exclaiming, "Tell him you're a lawyer, dear! there's supposed to be honor among thieves!"

To date things a bit...

Excellent. We have free legal stuff now. You didn't mention free, but thought that would be even better. :lmao:
I'm pretty sure that it's in our bylaws that if anyone states their occupation, fellow DIS Dads are entitled to free services associated with said occupation.
Any bartenders, pimps or restauranteurs might want to keep their job titles to themselves. Just sayin'.

Actually, I think most just save their Dis time for when they are working. :lmao:
The board is definitely busier from 9-5!
I'm also thinking it's vacation season and folks are out and about with the fams doing fun stuff.

Good morning guys. Saw some pics of MK yesterday and it looked deserted. Man I wish I was there!

Morning, sir. And GM to everyone else. Looks like a beautiful NON-HUMID day here in Pittsburgh. Really making me want to stay home and play hookie (or golf) today! Hope everyone finds the endurance to get through their work.

BTW, anyone know what today is?

Three of the secretaries at work had matching t-shirts printed up with "hump day" on the front with a picture of a camel on them as well.

I noticed that too. I always thought summer was a really bad week to go. Maybe it is the after 4th July week wane in the crowd level?

::yes:: to both of those.

This describes my work week, except that it is 25% a day throughout the summer.

Morning all…
If it is true that bad decisions make for great stories…
Then my lack of great stories clearly indicates that I need to be making far more bad decision.

I think I’ll start with drinking heavily.

Is that not the point of the internet in the first place? :rotfl2:

I wish you were there as well…
And that you’d invited me along and had picked up the tab for the rooms, grub and park tickets.
:thumbsup2

I would certainly vote for the hookie part of the idea.
Golf (or any other pursuit of leisure) would just be a bonus

Oh and as for the day…
I’m pretty sure it’s Wōden’s Day

But it'd be a good notion to head over to the other site and see what kind of NSFW imagery there posting over there to celebrate this particular weekday.

"Ah, Mike, What Day Is It?"

They were all at US for the opening of Diagon Alley. Take a look at those pics, not on inch of open space in there.:scared: I'd like to see it at some point, but I'll wait until the newness wears off a little.

I was thinking about saying the same thing lol
I'm so glad I have 2 months till we go, looks like a lot of bugs to work out, reports from this morning was most early entry guest didn't even get into London till 50 min past early entry time. Lots and lots of lines, 300+ wait times, that's why I usually only take trips during fall.

No way I would stand in those lines. A couple of years ago, the Dis hosted a special event at Harry Potter Land 1. Evening access to the area and open to a limited number of attendees. Fantastic event. DD and a friend rode Forbidden Journey multiple times. And all the rides were practically walk ons. If the powers that be are watching, can you say Diagon Alley?

It was the only time I saw WWoHP and the last time I stepped foot in Universal. Need to go back sometime but the only way I would visit Universal is if we stay on site. Haven't pulled the trigger yet. Maybe next year.
