:lmao:
:rotfl2::rotfl2: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I don't think you are going to see that much of the gnome once this thing has ended. :faint:

So it's a basic igloo???

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

What is the old saying about women changing their minds? :rotfl: Now we have a new set of dates to plan for our vacation. :confused3

I really wanted to go at the end of January, but DW conviced me DS would have a hard time in school if he missed a whole week. So now we are looking at Nov 26 - Dec 3, 2013. That puts us there the Tuesday before Thanksgiving for huge crowds. :scared1: At least the crowds should diminish Sunday after Thanksgiving and give us a few days of low crowds before we leave. :cloud9:

We liked the idea of the kids (and us adults) getting to see the Christmas decorations and attend a MVMCP. The kids will only miss two days of school and we have heard back from some teachers at DS's school saying they don't plan anything heavy immediately after Thanksgiving break because many kids miss a few days before and/or after the break anyway. So we've got that going for us. :hippie:

Now I will have to be ready at my 180+ day mark for ADR's because DW wants Thanksgiving dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. Wish me luck! popcorn:: Any other recommendations for Thanksgiving dinner?

We are looking at staying at Port Orleans Riverside in one of the new Royal Rooms. We have stayed in Oak Manor at POR before the renovations for the Royal Rooms (this is one of the two buildings renovated for the Royal Rooms) and we loved it. I am looking forward to getting back to POR. I think a night of 'Ye Haa' Bob Jackson during the super crowded days at the parks can help keep us sane.

I figure if we stick to rope drops on the busy days and leave around lunch time, we can avoid some of the craziness. :crazy: Then we can do some commando-style touring during the slower days at the end of the trip to ensure we get to do all the attractions we wanted.

Anyone have experience at the parks during Thanksgiving week and the week following? Is it as bad as I think it may be?

We have plans for a royal room at POR in August. I'll let you know how they are (if you don;t know already). Just can't pull the trigger on the Poly without a big discount and haven't seen one yet. My finance, conservative background can't seem to spend an additional $2.4K just to stay there.

Never been over Thanksgiving, but heard it is pretty busy. Just use the RD strategy and I'm sure you'll be good.

Pretty hilarious with all the people running around at the grocery store buying milk and bread. :rotfl:

With the expectation that we will have the highest snow total in history, the lines were backed up all the way around the outside of the aisles.:scared: People, you can get to the store in a couple of days at the latest.:confused3 The funniest thing is that if the power goes out half the food gets wasted anyway. Working this morning to get some big customer orders out. Plan to close the office by noon at the latest.

they are calling for three to six inches of snow around here from friday morning till sat. morning. you would think the world is coming to an end. :rotfl: i love driving in the snow, safest time to be on the roads, all the retirees stay home. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl:

I felt discriminated against at the DDCC by Randall. He treated those stupid penguins much better than he treated me. :worried:

To be fair, Randall would have gotten in a lot more trouble if he'd asked the CM's to hold you for a picture. :scared1: :rotfl:

Can't survive a blizzard without french toast!:thumbsup2

Well, they can put the food outside and it won't go bad - if they think of it. I'm with you on the extra cash for Deluxe resorts. We would never have stayed at BLT without DVC. While the resale helps, it was still painful to write that one big check, but knowing we had 50 years of vacations there helped.

DW woke me up this morning telling me the bathroom floor was wet. I went in there and someone left the sink running all night and there was water standing on the floor. Went downstairs and the kitchen floor was wet too and the ceiling is sagging down. I turned the sink off and dried the standing water and headed to work while trying to keep my mouth shut. Accidents happen, but DW was the last one in that bathroom before bed. If I even talked to her this morning, it probably wouldn't have been good. :furious:

Thank goodness it is winter and we live in a drafty house. Even with a humidifier running, the air tends to be very dry. At least it should all dry well, and then we can assess the damage.:faint:

Good morning gentlemen.

I went to bed early with a sour stomach and couldn't sleep any longer. So I'm sitting in the family room watching Star Wars hoping to get "caught" by DS. DW doesn't think a 4 year old should watch it and I know I'm not going to win that battle. So I figure I'll just let him catch me watching it.

I'd like your guy's input. I'm thinking of moving our vacation back a week. Because we're using my parents time share and not staying on property the whole 10 days the room costs drop considerably. Now we've decided to fly. That also means we're not going up to New Hampshire to visit family. So the epic three week vacation is cut down to 10 or 11 days. After looking at the crowd calendars I'm tempted to bump the vacation back a week. This would also overlap with the school district's fall break and be closer to the kid's birthdays and our anniversary. The original plan is to arrive September 29th and leave on October 9th or 10th. My new plan would be to arrive October 6th and leave on the 16th or 17th. This means the kids would miss 3 days of preschool instead of 6. Thanks for everyone's input.

Hope your feeling better. I like the new plan. The weather may be a little less hot/humid and most of that time is considered low crowds still, if there is such a thing during F&W. I honestly never worried about how many days the kids missed at the lower grades, but only missing three is better. Have fun planning.

Same to you Duck and everyone out there. Soon dropping off the dogs and heading to the Keys. Bit of a headache this morning. Self inflicted but I had a good time last night. Brits can drink.

You guys in the path of Nemo stay safe. Would post pictures of my weekend but I don't want to tick anyone off.

Post away without worry. I like to see where I should be. I'll post some picks of the snow up here if it happens as predicted.

Both Chris & I are in the 20+ section on the left of CT. Looks like this is actually gonna happen.

We are in the 24+ category. It should be interesting to see how close they are to hat we actually get. Our record is 23.7" (Boston)back in 2003. I remember that storm. We were in a snow pocket and actually got 32" with some pretty serious snow drifts. Kids were already disappointed this morning that it is not snowing yet. Stay safe everyone, except CJ of course. He'll have to make sure he reapplies that sunblock every 4 hours.:mad:

Good luck with that.

We've already got about 8"... but the brunt of it is still coming all day today.

Hopefully I'll be able to get out of the city and have a smooth drive tomorrow... :rolleyes1

I hope there isn't much damage. That can be a pain to fix.

Yup, better to just walk away. A couple of years ago in the spring, the wife turned on the outside water. Never put the plug in the faucet bleed outlet and flooded the basement.:furious: Damaged the walls, ruined the carpet and a ton of the kids things. Several times I started to tell her what had happened, but stopped before getting there and the problem is still thought to be a faulty pipe.:scratchin

Better to just fix it and move on. Nothing good can come of pointing it out. I enjoy sleeping at night.

You'd think... right.

But no, instead they went to Canadian Tire, and bought a bunch of (cheap) electric heaters.

:sad2:

Not sure I would be comfortable using a heater sold by a tire company. Do they smell like rubber when you turn them on?:lmao::lmao:

Don't worry Canadian Tire sells everything and you get Canadian Tire money from them when you buy.

Oh, that sucks. Sorry you have to deal with it.

Good move not calling her out on it, though. I find that doing that just opens me up to more criticism the next time I do something stupid (which is inevitable).

Morning...it's a snow day, kids are home. Already can't wait for DW to get home and head to work.:rotfl2:

No-win situation there....Hope no real damage was done...
