Good luck guys!

I bet you wish you were nicer to my penguins now that you need them!

You guys up north getting the snow pounding, stay safe.... and please please dont send it this way!

BE safe up there Paul.

Unfortunately, Melody HAD to go into work. She doesn't get out till 7 tonight (hopefully). I hope the roads are still open at that time so she could get home. I made her an emergency bag for the car with blankets, water, gloves, a scarf, a hat, and food- god forbid she ever got stuck.

Wow, hope she makes it home ok. If the weathermen are to be believed, that should be right before the worst of it hits. Good luck.

I bet you wish you were nicer to my penguins now that you need them!

What the h$%^ do I need the penguins for now? Can they shovel a driveway or fix power lines????

:confused3

Beverly...

DW woke me up this morning telling me the bathroom floor was wet. I went in there and someone left the sink running all night and there was water standing on the floor. Went downstairs and the kitchen floor was wet too and the ceiling is sagging down. I turned the sink off and dried the standing water and headed to work while trying to keep my mouth shut. Accidents happen, but DW was the last one in that bathroom before bed. If I even talked to her this morning, it probably wouldn't have been good. :furious:

Thank goodness it is winter and we live in a drafty house. Even with a humidifier running, the air tends to be very dry. At least it should all dry well, and then we can assess the damage.:faint:

Ouch! I'm with the guys who said don't harp on it. I'm sure my DW would some how figure out how it was my fault.:lmao:

Hope the damage is at a minimum.

Good luck guys!

To you and all the other guys in this storms path, good luck.

You know how you avoid this? A couple years ago when we were going to get Snowmaggedon in Chicago I went out that morning and dropped several hundred dollars on a snowblower. Except for that storm I haven't had to use it since. So it's doing its job of keep the snow fairies away. :beach:

LOL... but can Randall's penguins float on snow? :scratchin

That sucks. Hopefully there isn't too much damage

Everything I've read is saying we are getting slammed. Although we've heard that numerous times before. One difference between this storm and the storm in 2011 (where we got 2 feet of snow) is that there is nothing more than a dusting on the ground. In 2011, we had 18-24'' on the ground when that snow came.
Here is another CT station... now calling for 36''+ for Chris' and my area.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Hoped you stocked up on beer!

We got lucky. About 25-30 miles north of us got 6-12" of snow yesterday. We just got rain. That's good because we bought a piano for DD and I have to go get it on Sunday. Would have been a pain with a bunch of snow and ice everywhere.

The weekend is starting on a good note. My Illini knocked of the Hoosiers last night and tonight I get the evening to myself as DW is taking the DD's in to the city to see Peter Pan. I see beer, junk food, and possibly some gambling in my future.

Man, penguins can do alot! Like you can send Chilly to the liquor store to get more scotch, while you have Willy making great sled runs by sliding around on his belly, and while he's out there he can get the mail and salt the driveway.

But best of all, they can catch more than 1 fish! :lmao:

Both Chris & I are in the 20+ section on the left of CT. Looks like this is actually gonna happen.

Stay safe guys. Talked to the Pirate Princess. She is happy as a clam. A couple of inches on the ground and they are expecting 12-14 before it is over. Classes canceled and she had a test scheduled for today. After lunch she is playing with one of her buddies in the snow. I told her to take pictures.

I am currently at the pool bar enjoying a cocktail. Supposed to get up to 85 today. You guys are welcome to come down. Planning on doing a night dive tomorrow. What a burden life is for me.

That sucks Andy. Smart man though by holding your tongue. Hope it is an easy clean up.

Thanks for the kind words and positive thoughts. I had to mention the cause, but having been at work and away from the situation, I managed to choose my words a little bit better than I might have this morning.

She called me a little while ago to ask me about picking up the kids this evening. It's girls' basketball sectionals in Indiana this week, and the school she coaches cheerleading for is ranked in Class A and has what should be their biggest challenge in the sectionals tonight. I'm going to have to leave right after work to get there in time and she has to take cheerleaders, so we were trying to coordinate how I'd get there and how the kids would get there. Apparently, the kids are going to my parents' house this afternoon and they're going to the game too, so that solves one of life's little problems today. :thumbsup2

Anyway, I asked if the ceiling is drying out any, and if it is sagging anymore. She said it has at least stopped dripping, but then she went on to say she took the access panel off from behind the shower looking at the pipes and trying to find a leak. I had to tell her what caused it and that it probably dripped down around the central air register in the floor... I didn't say "you" left the sink running, I said "somebody" left the sink running. I guess if all else fails, it's the 3 year old's fault. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Off to work....should be fun, there is a bus stuck in a snowdrift nearby :rotfl2:

Keep safe Dads!

Wow.. looks like our rainfall totals from Isaac...
Y'all stay warm up there.

So this storm is an Alberta clipper and a Texas low coming together. Next time you guys in Texas want to give us something......let's just say its the thought that counts. :)
So THAT's what happened?
Those Texans diverted the front from cooling off Florida the week we're going to WDW?
Dadgummit... it's gonna be in the 80s next week. The reason I wanted to go in February, and missing Mardi Gras at that, is because I didn't want to sweat.
Thanks for nuthin', Texas! :rotfl2:

Ok, I'll get on a plane. Oh, thats right the airports are shut down.:headache::mad:

MA declared state of emergency and basically told everyone to stay off the roads. Snowing pretty hard, but still not a lot sticking yet. They keep changing the amounts. Some say 16-24 inches, some 24+ and others are over 30 inches. We'll have to see what the end result is.

Didn't get everything out that needed to ship today because stupid UPS decided not to deliver to us this morning.:furious: Hopefully we'll get it all done on Monday. If I knew ahead of time I could have just stayed home today.

Everyone in the northeast, stay warm and safe. Those on the direct coast, I hope the flooding is minimal. Already heard they were evacuating some coast line in NJ.

Just hanging out... Might go sledding later.

WOW.. we have 3+inches on the ground and the wind is really picking up now. Snow isn't heavy yet. I'd say it is moderate right now.

That is how I didn't lose power in the hurricane... I bought a generator. :rotfl: :badpc: :headache::headache:

I'm good to go! :thumbsup2

Yea, sounds like that could of been a pain.

Put it all on black. :wizard:

This penguin infatuation is starting to get a bit creepy... :sad2:

Cold, misty, and dreary in the hollers today but no snow and I don't care if I ever see it again. Prayers for all you dads in the path. Don't over do on the shoveling. It is that heavy, wet stuff that is a widow maker.
