Still better than the 7 hours it took me to drive across Kansas. :sad2:

We did that drive, too. That is a painful one. I also remember Iowa as being 4 hours of corn.

A Crossing Kansas Story…

Waaaaay back in 73 (the middle of the oil embargo), my family took a cross-country drive from Miami to Denver to visit my Aunt and see what we could see. The vehicle of choice was a 66 Olds F-85 (not your common car). This ride had a radio in it that had long since stopped working. It simply would not pick up any station anywhere. On the return trip back toward home, we crossed the Colorado Front Range and entered Kansas. With in a mile or two, the radio kicked in (apparently it had always been turned on and just couldn’t pick up any signal). Not only did it pick up a station, it picked up one clear across the state in Kansas City. We had music and conversation to listen to the entire day. When we crossed into Missouri that evening the station started to loose signal and was gone in less then ten miles. That radio never worked again after that.

True Story.

Really!

But at least in those 4 hours you can evaluate the merits of Monsanto vs. DeKalb and which hybrids produce better yields.

You mean you didn't read my quality Delaware Tourism Bureau chapter in my TR? :confused3

Well, I guess you'll miss out on a Philly cheese steak from your nemesis. No 2-hour wait, either.

That was just a nice little softball for the TR plug. I did read the merits of Delaware including:

Slaughter Beach
Murderkill River
Broadkill Sound

Maybe next time, I'll think better of making someone from Delaware wait 2 hours for a meal.

It's hard to count an airport. All you see is the same uncomfortable chairs and Starbucks they have at every other airport.

Fair enough.

Always a good idea. I dares ya to cross this line.

Also known as the "asterisk" states. From what I've seen of Utah and can see from pictures of Alaska, they both deserve further exploration.

Agreed, I would like to explore these more just trying to get a current reading on my list, but these definitely deserve a full investigation.

PB& J and Cheese balls?

Are you clairvoint? How did you know?

Although I'd be afraid that if we ever did fufil our live-long (well, at least since DDCI started in 2007) dream of converting an old school bus into a party bus, driving around the country picking up dads and ending up at WDW, that somewhere along the route, the bus would end up looking like this one:

i told you dont let fed on, he farts gun powder!:lmao:

DAD UPDATE:

Talked to my Dad earlier and he sounded in good spirits.

Amazingly, he told me he just finished a couple of laps around the floor. :scared1: He said he it felt great to be able to get out of that bed.

Still has some pain. He said the worst part of the whole thing is all of the "gas pent up inside".

As part of the surgery, they pump him full of "air" to allow for better room to do the procedure.

Now it's time for the gas to come out! :rotfl2:

He says the walking helps! :thumbsup2

I told him to make sure he doesn't asphyxiate any of the nurses!

Are you clairvoint? How did you know?

For some reason I pictured this as a combination of Barry's eating cheese and Fed demonstrating the finer art of roasting marshmallows with a flame thrower.

23 years 11 months. :lmao:

Happy 24th anniversary early Dave! :lmao:

Mark-
Glad to hear FIL is ok.

Thanks, Chris. I'm sorry you've had to go through the same kind of suffering. It's not easy.

PB& J and Cheese balls?

[KEANU REEVES FACE] Whoa. [/KEANU REEVES FACE] That's amazing. Actually, my parents never packed buckets of cheese balls. :sad1: That was your contribution to our family road trips.

Andy? What does this mean in English?

I did read the merits of Delaware including:

Slaughter Beach
Murderkill River
Broadkill Sound

And a city with the scariest name of all: Newark.

Sounds like he's doing well! Does the nursing staff have to draw straws to see who gets to pull his finger? :confused3
