The phone rang this morning at 2:15, got up and ran to get it and fell. :headache: Missed the call, checked caller id and it was the hospital. Called Dawn to make sure it wasn't her and she called mom to check in, they are both fine.

Actually...we disliked the GG Int'l Dinner & Illuminations last time....we wouldn't do it again

Sorry! I must have read it wrong then. :confused3 That's what happened when I read fast and late at night apparently. :confused3 (ETA: Boy I really read it wrong!)

Heidi - I hope it was a wrong number! I also hope you didn't get hurt when you fell.

Deb-poor Nick.

I am used to you all chatting up a storm while I am doing the "normal" stuff around my house at night...you were quiet tonight.

I hope everybody is doing okay!!:lovestruc

I am on a run....I just applied for another job:cool1: Both of these jobs pay more than I am making now (not that that is the be all and end all...but it helps:lmao: )

PD for the job! :wizard:

Well, Dad's mystery was a good one! Apparently, Mom mentioned in their Sunday School class a few weeks ago that I had a potential job offer, but that we'd have to figure out transportation. Tonight, their Sunday School class teacher and his wife came over to ask if they could give us a car. It's a 1994 Volvo, but the mileage isn't too bad and it runs well. They had recently gotten a new one and hadn't decided what to do with this one. When Mom mentioned us to the class, they decided that was what they were meant to do. I thought that Phil was going to fall over in shock, he was so surprised. I had a suspicion that a car was involved somehow, but had no idea it would be this. What a blessing!!

On top of that, it looks like I may be a nanny as of Monday. It is with the lady from a few weeks ago. It seems we had some missed communications, but we talked on Friday and I met with her tonight. She still seems a little flighty sometimes, but in a handleable way, if that makes sense. There's also a lot going on for her right now with her job, finalizing a divorce and moving at the end of the month. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and give it a try. I think that it should work out okay. The girl that she had hired isn't working out I think more due to age and experience. She's younger and has never lived on her own or nannied for 3 kids. They are going to continue to use her as a babysitter in the evenings/weekend.

So, that's our excitement for the day! I've got to go get tags, etc for the car tomorrow, but after that we're good to go!!! Talk about answers to prayers!! Now if we can only find Phil a better job. I think we're on track to be back in a place of our own by the end of the year if things keep going the way they are. :goodvibes:

That is terrific news! My husband drives a 94 Volvo with over 250,000 and it still runs well. I hope the nanny job works out for you and that something else comes through for Phil. :wizard:

Heidi -- I hope everything is okay at the hospital, as well as with you.

Jake has a soccer game tonight (if it's not rained out!), and Andrew's rec baseball team is playing a team with a lot of the kids from the tournament/select team tonight. My stomach is already in knots... Our rec team lost a good player last week -- he broke his ankle in a bouncy house... I'm not praying for a win (truly out of the question, as the other team has beaten every team including us by 15 or more runs)-- just a good game for Andrew so that his select team continues to have confidence and respect in him. Andrew is really enjoying getting to know those boys, and since he doesn't go to school with them it's somewhat of a challenge.

I'm still feeling crappy, but it could be much worse, so I've started taking antibiotics so it doesn't get out of control.

I hope everyone has a terrific day! :)

Good morning, DDA! Just popped in for a sec while checking the weather, but have to get going soon. Lots of :wizard: for your days.

Heidi - Hope the fall didn't hurt too much and that the number was a wrong one.

Marci - :wizard: for Andrew's game!

Hey Deb-

chager just posted this (sorry I don't know how to pull a quote from a different thread) on the CB:

My ds13 has been complaining of stomach issues for 6 weeks! 2 ER visits, countless tests, still no answer. Interestingly enough several other kids from his class have had similar symptoms lately. No answers for them either. He will take Motrin to help control the pain when it gets bad. He also gets a bad upset stomach with it. No particular time of day either. So far the docs are thinking some strange virus.

here's the thread:

Elizabeth -- which stores in the area are closing?

Deb -- sending a hug to you -- WTG with the park. Sending PD and prayers that Colby can get the help he needs. Also sending a big hug to Nick and prayers as well. I hope you are able to figure out what is wrong. :wizard:

Valley View, Town East and Vista Ridge.

Deb - One of the moms at school was saying her DD gets abdominal migraines brought on by stress. :confused3 Somehting to think about.

Tia, that's wonderful news!! Enjoy your new car!
I can not stress to you enough how important it is to have a detailed written contract. If this woman comes across as "flighty" now then you will have issues with her "remembering" the details of verbal agreements, like what time you are supposed to be off, how much money she owes you, etc. I made Dadboss go back and add clarifications to my contract a couple of times before I would sign it because gray areas are bad. My bosses have been AMAZING to work with, but you just don't know going in. Good luck!! :wizard:

Tomorrow Terra and I are headed over to the Ronald McDonald House to take Danae to the zoo. They got into town on Sunday for follow-up appts this week. Apparently the one this morning was not so good and it looks like Michael may have surgery next week to do some repair work. It's not as serious of a surgery as before, but not minor either. I guess they'll be around for a few more weeks again. :( Hopefully, they'll have some more details, etc after the tests and appts tomorrow.

Good wishes for Michael! :wizard:

Yikes! Hope everyone is OK! :scared:

Princess has swimming today, and I need to exchange a new swimsuit I bought for her at Dillard's. We live life in the fast lane! :rotfl2:

Valley View, Town East and Vista Ridge.

Oh no -- two of those are the ones I go to if I need something. I don't even know where others are in the area... :sad2:

Have fun with princess and try to stay out of the rain today.

Stephanie, you are a riot!!!!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

What is your full name? Stephanie Mrs. M Mouse
Pets? I just got some Webkinz

For those of you who've done the Wishes Magical Fireworks Voyage Grand Gathering thing, please tell myBob how much fun it was. I'm considering doing it the night of Nicholas' bday, but Bob said he saw a segment on it on one of the Travel Channel specials, and it didn't appeal to him. He seems to like the Illuminations Dinner/Dessert Party.

I've never done either, but we have done the regular Wishes cruise, and I loved that!

Ooh, I like learning new shortcuts. Thanks!

Well, I need to get my day started. I should be getting my shower and packing. Chuck would like to leave at 10am. Not sure if he'll be ready by then but I better be just in case. Chat with you later.

I managed to make Nick and Hunter each a pair of sleep shorts tonight. They really don't take too long, but I wasn't awefully motivated. Chris and I both talked to Nick tonight and he gets so stressed whenever we bring up his grades. He insists that nothing is bothering him. He says that he understands the concepts that he is being tested on, but in the classwork they are told how many errors to look for in the paragraph and when tested they don't say how many. He says that he finds some, but probably doesn't find them all as he gives up thinking that he already has them all. I'll wait and see what the teacher have to say when and if they respond to my email. As for the tummy ache. He just thinks he doesn't eat or eats too much or well you get the idea. I am very aware that he does not know his body signals, he never has.

Thanks for all your concern...hopefully it really is nothing serious. I do plan to keep on top of it though.

I hope that everything works out! It's not always easy being Mom.

:cheer2: :woohoo: I hope that the nanny job works out well for you and the family! pixiedust: that Phil also finds a better job.

My dh drives a '91 Volvo, and that has been a recent update in the last 3 years or so. Before that he drove an '85 Volvo. When I met him in 1983, he was driving a '65 Volvo. (That one was my favorite!) Those cars are built to last.
