Actually...we disliked the GG Int'l Dinner & Illuminations last time....we wouldn't do it again

I've done both and agree with Kristine - the Dessert Party seems nicer. The Wishes cruise was neat to see the water parade (which I've never seen before) but the only thing with the fireworks is you don't get the "fireworks are all around you" feeling.

I ordered a castle cake...they had it on-board without any kind of box or wrapping..after Illuminations, we sat and watched all the debris from the fireworks settle into the whip cream...:scared1:

Ok, Kristine....tell me about your cake during the Illuminations cruise.

Elizabeth,
Sorry about your store.

Elizabeth -- which stores in the area are closing?

This is how I feel today :headache:

We had Colby's speech assessment meeting today with the potential of setting up an IEP. It turns out that the state guidelines for younger kids is different than the guidelines for school aged children. It was determined that there was not enough info available for him to qualify for Special ED today. We could drop it and the school would "plan" to give him therapy next school year anyway. The problem is if the program is full with other kids not leaving a slot open for him. We decided to get the last bit of info and meet again next Monday for a follow up meeting. One of the state assessors will be going to school with him tomorrow and observing his articulation and how it effects him in a classroom setting. Hopefully she will have as much difficulty understanding him as the rest of us do and he will qualify for Special Ed which will open up services for him as early as next week. They would start him in the Early Education program then the school would take over in July. Unfortunately the summer program is only 4 weeks and he will be at WDW for the first 2, but at least it is a start. There would be an IEP in place with a guaranteed spot for him next year. :wizard: Would be greatly appreciated.

Nick came home this afternoon complaining of a tummy ache and even threw up once (or so he says) he did not go to Lacrosse tonight, but feels well enough to be outside now. We've seen his grades tanking over the last month, but I have no idea why and when I ask him he gets the tummy ache and cries saying that he has no idea why. I have emails in to both of his teachers.

Sometimes being a Mommy sucks.

I did take Colby to a nice park for a picnic lunch and he played for 1 1/2 hrs. he wants to know when we can go back. I've never been a patient Mom when it comes to hanging out at a park so this was a big deal for me.

I picked up a pattern and some material for making some sleep shorts for the boys so I may work on that now.

Deb -- sending a hug to you -- WTG with the park. Sending PD and prayers that Colby can get the help he needs. Also sending a big hug to Nick and prayers as well. I hope you are able to figure out what is wrong. :wizard:

Early soccer practice was rained out, Jake's game played and he just almost caught a high fly ball in left field. ALMOST... Andrew's soccer practice did happen, and the coach is upset he won't be there for the make-up game on Thursday. Fine, if you want him to be there and you KNOW he has baseball games during the week, then pick up the phone and call me.

I'm off to bed, as these allergies/sinus problems are kicking my backside. Goodnight everyone!

I guess I'm off to bed. It has been really quiet here tonight. I'll have to get up early in the morning to get packed. I just couldn't get myself motivated to pack tonight.

Well, soccer is over with for the season. They got whooped. But on the bright side, baseball starts on the 19th.

Religion classes are over for the year too! YAY!

I'm sorry to hear that. On to bigger and better things :confused3

For those of you who've done the Wishes Magical Fireworks Voyage Grand Gathering thing, please tell myBob how much fun it was. I'm considering doing it the night of Nicholas' bday, but Bob said he saw a segment on it on one of the Travel Channel specials, and it didn't appeal to him. He seems to like the Illuminations Dinner/Dessert Party.

We are doing the Grand Gathering Fireworks cruise on the 4th of July. I think we meet at the Contemporary. I'll be sure to post a detailed report of how much we enjoy it ;)

I managed to make Nick and Hunter each a pair of sleep shorts tonight. They really don't take too long, but I wasn't awefully motivated. Chris and I both talked to Nick tonight and he gets so stressed whenever we bring up his grades. He insists that nothing is bothering him. He says that he understands the concepts that he is being tested on, but in the classwork they are told how many errors to look for in the paragraph and when tested they don't say how many. He says that he finds some, but probably doesn't find them all as he gives up thinking that he already has them all. I'll wait and see what the teacher have to say when and if they respond to my email. As for the tummy ache. He just thinks he doesn't eat or eats too much or well you get the idea. I am very aware that he does not know his body signals, he never has.

Thanks for all your concern...hopefully it really is nothing serious. I do plan to keep on top of it though.

Deb-poor Nick.

I am used to you all chatting up a storm while I am doing the "normal" stuff around my house at night...you were quiet tonight.

I hope everybody is doing okay!!:lovestruc

I am on a run....I just applied for another job:cool1: Both of these jobs pay more than I am making now (not that that is the be all and end all...but it helps:lmao: )

Hey Deb-

chager just posted this (sorry I don't know how to pull a quote from a different thread) on the CB:

My ds13 has been complaining of stomach issues for 6 weeks! 2 ER visits, countless tests, still no answer. Interestingly enough several other kids from his class have had similar symptoms lately. No answers for them either. He will take Motrin to help control the pain when it gets bad. He also gets a bad upset stomach with it. No particular time of day either. So far the docs are thinking some strange virus.

here's the thread:

Well, Dad's mystery was a good one! Apparently, Mom mentioned in their Sunday School class a few weeks ago that I had a potential job offer, but that we'd have to figure out transportation. Tonight, their Sunday School class teacher and his wife came over to ask if they could give us a car. It's a 1994 Volvo, but the mileage isn't too bad and it runs well. They had recently gotten a new one and hadn't decided what to do with this one. When Mom mentioned us to the class, they decided that was what they were meant to do. I thought that Phil was going to fall over in shock, he was so surprised. I had a suspicion that a car was involved somehow, but had no idea it would be this. What a blessing!!

On top of that, it looks like I may be a nanny as of Monday. It is with the lady from a few weeks ago. It seems we had some missed communications, but we talked on Friday and I met with her tonight. She still seems a little flighty sometimes, but in a handleable way, if that makes sense. There's also a lot going on for her right now with her job, finalizing a divorce and moving at the end of the month. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and give it a try. I think that it should work out okay. The girl that she had hired isn't working out I think more due to age and experience. She's younger and has never lived on her own or nannied for 3 kids. They are going to continue to use her as a babysitter in the evenings/weekend.

So, that's our excitement for the day! I've got to go get tags, etc for the car tomorrow, but after that we're good to go!!! Talk about answers to prayers!! Now if we can only find Phil a better job. I think we're on track to be back in a place of our own by the end of the year if things keep going the way they are. :goodvibes:

WOO HOOO!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Tomorrow Terra and I are headed over to the Ronald McDonald House to take Danae to the zoo. They got into town on Sunday for follow-up appts this week. Apparently the one this morning was not so good and it looks like Michael may have surgery next week to do some repair work. It's not as serious of a surgery as before, but not minor either. I guess they'll be around for a few more weeks again. :( Hopefully, they'll have some more details, etc after the tests and appts tomorrow.

And with that, I am off. We've got to be out early tomorrow, plus I've got some work to do getting things ready for Monday. Just got to put some thinking to my schedules, Phils, the new job, everyone else, etc and see how things will work out for the best. I'm supposed to have the family's schedule and a written list of job requirements tomorrow as well so that will help me start wrapping my mind around what's going on.

Night Theresa and anyone else still awake!

Night Tia!!

Waiting for the loud (lots of jeans) load in the dryer to come out...hate trying to fall asleep to the noise. Towels go in next....lots easier to sleep to!!:rotfl:
