DDA Chapter 23

I will go with an open mind but I cannot seriously understand what this has to do with Spanish....I checked the teachers website to see if anything on there would give me a clue but nothing..just that she doesn't want kids to "sit back in their chairs" when she is teaching...I think I have my hands full here folks.

I am also not happy that she followed Katie down the hall after Katie left the class (to go to guidance) & got all up in her face & made her cry. She was very aggresive & rude...even another student came over to hug Katie when she saw what was going on. That is inexcusable. We came to this town for the "great schools" which as far as middle school is concerned is an absolute joke. I am so done.

Thanks for giving me some place to come & vent...you are all great friends to have.
My spanish teacher didn't want us sitting and just listening either...but she would do "blackboard" challenges of where we'd go to the board against another person and have to write the word first. Or we'd come into class and we'd have a full place setting with food set up at our desk when we were on the "Kitchen" chapter. Or we'd do field trips to the grocery store...yes, we'd have music, but it was spanish music! (Feliz Navidad anyone??)

I didn't get to vote for baptism backgrounds because they aren't there any more. :(

Anne Marie - that seems asinine! And I agree that no child that age should be forced to dance in a class that isn't about dance!
Sorry Elin! I ended up not liking either of them. :rolleyes1 Here's the finished product! (Minus the blurred text...)

I can understand THOSE assignments in a Spanish class!

I like the invitation! Very handsome!!! Not to mention the baby in the picture!

Anne Marie good luck tomorrow, hope you can get some answers.

Tammi good luck with the new flooring & I hope the meds help you cat.

Vicki :wizard: for Katrina.

I have been pulling my hair out today with our cats. I took Camy in yesterday to get her shaved & I know she smells different. Usually the cats only hiss at each other for a little while. They have be going at it big time!

My niece may have miscarried today :guilty:

Tammi, I am so sorry about the kitty. :guilty: Alley used to wet on things, too. It started off as a UTI, but then I think she decided she LIKED to pee on other things. :sad2:

Janet, after we had Zazu neutered Arabella was mean to him for WEEKS. I am sure yours will all settle back in soon!
I am so sorry about your niece. I hope she is OK! :wizard::hug:

I swear the most dangerous thing I do all week is take DS to school. :headache:

It is raining. A guy made an illegal U-turn in front of me, came to a DEAD stop, and let his kid out of the car on a 6 lane street! We go around the corner to the middle school. There is an AMBULANCE in the carpool circle! Somebody inside the building must have been having some sort of medical emergency, because there wasn't anybody on the ground outside.

It is NOT legal to turn left into the carpool drive, but there were about 4 cars lined up to do it anyway. I was turning right, but we weren't moving because the ambulance was blocking one side. So the 3rd car back waiting to go left cuts over, comes down the street the WRONG WAY, and turns into the drive! :scared1: (The drive is 2 cars wide or she wouldn't have been able to do that.) So I honked at her. I NEVER honk, but really? The other cars waiting to turn left decided they were never goign to make it, so those kids got out of the cars int he middle of the street.

So we get up to the drop-off area and DS gets out. The woman next to me is yapping on the phone. Hand-held phones are illegal in active school zones, but she must be special. :sad2:

DH is fond of calling the police to come out to the afternoon carpool line because people just make up their own rules. We were a bit later this morning than usual, so obviously the closer it gets to 8:30 the crazier the carpool circle becomes!

Elin - good luck with Verizon. Do you have Vios in your neighborhood? I'm debating on switching to them or going with Cox. Right now I have Directv, ATT for phone and Cox for internet. I want to get a bundle and almost everyday I get an ad for one of them. I've heard bad things about each, so who knows.

I am still waiting! We have Cox for cable and internet, Verizon for phone and cell phone. There is Fios in our neighborhood. But... They have replaced the phone line to our house 4 times in the past 18 years. There is no way in HE LL I will let them put more lines into our house for cable and internet! :rotfl2: I figure if they would all stop sending us the fancy mailings we could have our services for free!!

We debated going to Cox for landline service, but have decided if this doesn't work out in our favor we will just cancel our landline, something we swore we would never do! This is ridiculous. :sad2:

My niece may have miscarried today :guilty:
:hug:I'm so sorry!

Not sure why the state their has decided the prisons should have the vaccine first. espically when they have minimal contact with the outside world.
I do understand why they would get it-if one person gets it they likely all will BUT...give it to the guards and the law abiding citizens then the prison population.....

Do you have a BJ's membership? Have you seen this?

Yikes!

Hello DDA!

I've tried reading along the last few days, but lost my place several times. Here are a few things that I did catch...

Vicki - Hope things are working out for the best with Becky.

Jennifer - Happy belated birthday to Virginia!

Chanon - Very cute invitation! I love it.

Anne Marie - I hope you can get some good answers and resolution for Katie tomorrow. Lots of :grouphug: that things calm down for her (and you!).

Elizabeth - Good luck managing the carpool lane. That sounds crazy!

Janet - Lots of  and :wizard: for your niece.

Amy - I hope that Kevin is feeling better as the week goes on.

Debbie - I hope you are feeling better!

Everyone else.... lots of :wave2: :grouphug: and :wizard: all around.

It's been a crazy week around here. I subbed at preschool/Mother's Day Out on Monday and Wednesday while Terra hung out with the Pre-K class. Luckily (for my wallet), she liked it and it willing to do it again if we're called. Tuesday I had the baby while her mom had an interview. Better yet, she got called back for a 2nd interview so I'll have her again next week. Things sound promising for this job (knock on wood!) so with any luck the baby will be back with me Dec 1. Kristi was hired at her current part-time therapist job for another therapy group so she's now full-time there. I will possibly start watching the little girl she had on Tues and Thurs next week, plus will watch her kids (for some pay at least) starting Nov 1.

Finally, things seem to be making a bit of a turn around. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to be quickly enough to salvage Terra's birthday trip. If her birthday was just a tad later I could be confident we'd get our tax refund back in time and know we'd be good. Hopefully, though, these changes will be enough to work a trip in sometime in the first half of the year. Maybe we can do my May birthday instead and celebrate us both! Just in case, though, I need to get my ADRs together for calling next week.

Chanon I love the invitation!

Elizabeth the school drop off sounds pretty scary!

Tia celebrating both birthdays in May sounds like a wonderful idea :thumbsup2

My niece was told officially today that she miscarried & yes this is the one that was just in the accident. She was only about 11 weeks along but you still feel the pain of losing. She & her husband have been trying for so long. Makes me feel so sad for them :sad1:
