DDA Chapter 23

Welcome to the non DDP side :rotfl: I've been saying that ever since 2 of my kids became Disney adults. We can't justify the cost for the small amount of food that the kids eat (not so much Nick now, but Colby eats way more then Hunter) we'll stick to paying OOP for our meals :thumbsup2

We bought the basic plan in 2005 & 2006 when DS was still a "child" and that was OK. We saved a couple hundred dollars each time. We got it "free" on Bounceback in 2007. We did buy a week of DxDDP last year just to see, and of course we got STOMPED. Might as well have stood there and tossed money into Bay Lake. So this year we went without. And unless DS starts eating more than a small toddler we won't be considering DDP again!

Ok so I'm not evil for doing the same thing?

I don't know the answer to that. Is it evil for her mother to be doing the same thing? I don't want to see her hurting at the loss but better have her hurting now than see her more downtrodden in the future.

Very true, better she find out now what an a$$ he is.

I'm not saying I don't think it's weird (I do)....I'm saying that teachers sometimes do things that we we as parents think is odd...but that they have a reason for...perhaps a team building exercise etc. Trying to give the teacher a small amount of slack here...

See what the person says...go with an open mind...and go from there

I agree with giving the teacher a chance. Ask what the assignment is meant to do with Spanish and go from there. Definitely go with an open mind.

/
I will go with an open mind but I cannot seriously understand what this has to do with Spanish....I checked the teachers website to see if anything on there would give me a clue but nothing..just that she doesn't want kids to "sit back in their chairs" when she is teaching...I think I have my hands full here folks.

I am also not happy that she followed Katie down the hall after Katie left the class (to go to guidance) & got all up in her face & made her cry. She was very aggresive & rude...even another student came over to hug Katie when she saw what was going on. That is inexcusable. We came to this town for the "great schools" which as far as middle school is concerned is an absolute joke. I am so done.

Thanks for giving me some place to come & vent...you are all great friends to have.

$47 for the DDP? We won't be using it anymore either as of December all 3 of my gang will be Disney adults so no way. We used the TiW card in August & that was terrific. We liked that better because we didn't feel forced to eat just because we had already paid for it.

Anne Marie - I hope you get somewhere tomorrow with the school administration. I agree with everything that has been posted. Katie obviously took the class to learn Spanish, not dancing. And I can just imagine how ridiculous she feels having to do this dance. For Pete's sake, she's 13, not 8.

Vicki - I'm glad things seem to be progressing with Katrina. Hopefully she'll make a clean break.

We are another No More DDP Family.

I ended up taking my cat to the vet tonight. Twice in the last week she has pee'd on my bed, and once on the throw rug in my bathroom. She doesn't have a UTI yet, but the vet said her bladder looked inflamed. I have 2 different meds to give her, so hopefully this will stop SOON, or else. This is not a good year to be a pet in my house.

I've also decided to put hardwood floor in parts of my house. Well, not real hardwood but Pergo. So now the dining and living rooms have the carpet ripped out. We will start laying the flooring this weekend, I hope, sometime in between Nutcracker rehearsal, a football game and 2 birthday parties.

Happy Birthday Virginia!!!

We have no swine flu vaccines here.
In MA the vaccines are going to the prisons first. So none for us law abiding citizens.

Good Morning, I'm spending another day at home, but hopefully I'll be able to get a few things taken care of around here.

I've put together our schedule for November,

6th - Work half day, leave for Tallahassee in the afternoon

7th - arrival, Epcot in the afternoon with dinner at LeCellier

8th - KTTK tour at 8:30 am, dinner at Tonys

9th - No real plans, no ADR's, most likely will spend part of the day at DTD with CS lunch at WPE

10th - dinner at Biergarten, Osbourne lights begin

11th - dinner at Captain's Grille

12th - dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe followed by MVMCP

13th - Richie's bday, dinner at Big River Grille

14th - Breakfast at Boma, spend half day at a park and depart later for Tallahassee, home on the 15th

With just a couple of exceptions I don't have the park days planned, I think we are going to slow this one down and play it by ear quite a bit.
Sounds wonderful!!!

Hunter still has a lot of pain and he started vomiting this morning, probably from lack of food in his tummy. My Dad tried to get him to eat, but he wouldn't. I made him scrambled eggs when I came home and he ate those, so far so good. I took him to school and got his backpack and missing work. Hopefully he will feel well enough to work on it as some point. One of his friends said that she will come over and help him this weekend:goodvibes She was the one kid that stayed with him when it happened and actually talked to him and tried to calm him down while the other kids made comments about how mangled his shoulder looked. She was very upset when they wouldn't let her stay with him until I got there. Very sweet girl.
:hug:Poor Hunter.

Can I please go to Disney now?:sad1:
:hug:Just a few more days!

Chuck called me this morning. There might have been a bigger breakthrough on this. Katrina's boyfriend made some mean comments to her last night that makes her realize that she needs to make a bigger break. He is hoping that she will be willing to move "everything" home now. I'll be calling her later tonight to find out how things are.
:hug::hug:Hugs for you, Chuck and Katrina.

Does anybody know the scoop on the 2010 DDP? I read something that said the price will fluctuate now with the seasons like the hotel rates? Anyone? We don't like the DDP, but I like to know things.
The DxDDP is just one price all year.;) I'm anxious to give it a try with Joe-my Disney child who can eat like an adult!!! I'm hoping I don't create a monster.:rotfl: Lizzy is my Disney adult who can't finish a child's meal.

:hug:Good luck with all that! I can't believe the teacher isn't a bit more sensitive to the new kid.:hug:

Really?????? I thought Sophie was close to Joe's age??? Joe will be 9 in January. They aren't "adults" until age 10.

:wizard:Hope the kittie makes a fast improvement!

:wizard:Good luck with the floor!

Debbie - You have to get healthy so you can enjoy the great trip you guys have planned for next month!

Deb - I hope Hunter keeps the eggs down. I will be sitting here tomorrow from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and Bob will take over from 3:00-7:00 p.m. waiting for Verizon to show up and firgure out what is wrong with our phone. We have had no dial tone since Sunday and the earliest they could schedule an appointment was for Thursday. And we had to agree to be here for 11 hours. Sad, sad, sad... If we wanted to change to FIOS I think they guarantee that they will be here the very same day!

Anne Marie good luck tomorrow, hope you can get some answers.

Tammi good luck with the new flooring & I hope the meds help you cat.

Vicki :wizard: for Katrina.

I have been pulling my hair out today with our cats. I took Camy in yesterday to get her shaved & I know she smells different. Usually the cats only hiss at each other for a little while. They have be going at it big time!

My niece may have miscarried today :guilty:

I didn't get to vote for baptism backgrounds because they aren't there any more. :(

Anne Marie - that seems asinine! And I agree that no child that age should be forced to dance in a class that isn't about dance!

Vicki - I hope this is the turning point for Katrina.

Thanks Bernadette.

Not sure why the state their has decided the prisons should have the vaccine first. espically when they have minimal contact with the outside world.

I too am jumping up and down over Katrina leaving the guy.

Anne Marie good luck tomorrow, hope you can get some answers.

Tammi good luck with the new flooring & I hope the meds help you cat.

Vicki :wizard: for Katrina.

Tammi :wizard: for your cat.
Vicki :wizard:for Katrina
Ann Marie :wizard: for Katie
Janet :wizard:for the cats and :hug:for your niece and family

:wizard:to everyone else. It seems that life is throwing us all curves right now.

I'm off to work shortly. I have to get out a bit early as I need to get home to help Hunter get dresses then get the boys to their yearly checkups. I'm also working at 4 PM so this day should be pretty well shot. Hunter is currently sleeping peacefully so I've decided not to wake him for meds. I hope this is the right decision and that he doesn't wake in too much pain. Chris will give him meds when he gets up in a few hours.

Elin - good luck with Verizon. Do you have Vios in your neighborhood? I'm debating on switching to them or going with Cox. Right now I have Directv, ATT for phone and Cox for internet. I want to get a bundle and almost everyday I get an ad for one of them. I've heard bad things about each, so who knows.
