Saw a thread on the CB, that the first case of swine flu is at WDW. A tourist from Mexico was diagnosed. Here is the link as the person has a news link in the thread.

Colby's conference did not go well. The teacher now has similar concerns to the ones that I've had for years. She is beginning to wonder if he is learning delayed. He cannot or maybe just will not work independently. If she sits with him he can do the work, as soon as she walks away he stops working. He is also very chatty. She feels that he is very young for his age. These are concerns that I have brought up to the school and the pediatrician over the years. I've always been told that he is just speach delayed. He has not progressed as quickly as he should haveShe doesn't think that there is anything that can be done at this time. They will continually test in school, but she said that he would need to be much more delayed before they could do much for him. At this point she hopes he will mature over the summer. We know that he does nothing by himself here. He always needs at least one other person with him to do anything. He still wets at night, refuses to learn to tie his shoes. I'm feeling very frustrated. She says that he also seems very tired in the afternoons, yet he is full of energy when he gets home.
Jen does any of this sound familiar with any of your K's? What would you suggest I do?
I'm off to work.
I should get packing too for DL but my cousin just got admitted to hospice. He was recently diagnosed with cancer only 2 months ago...crazy how things turn so quickly.
ETA: He's not a close cousin, but the people I'm traveling to DL with would go to the funeral so plans would be canceled...
It's been crazy here, but that's nothing new.
Do they think it is something that will correct itself?
Why TX weather? Y'all coming down? I know this is a late questiongood point....I have him focused on the TX weather now....we will see how long that lasts
It's not looking good as far as the convincing goes. Whining is much worse, though, so I'll drop the subject!
As for Lucy's eyes... I had her at her regular pediatrician for an ear infection and while we were waiting I noticed her left eye looked a bit off center. Not 2 seconds later, the dr. came in and immediately noticed it as well. She thought that she could be nearsighted and that it "wandered" and sent us to the ophthalmologist.
He determined that she is actually farsighted and has Strabismus, where she can't aligned that one eye to the center. When he first examined her, he mentioned something about her hair hanging in her face. I was freaked out as I have heard so much grief over not getting her hair cut. She will not keep in a barrette or ponytail. I did not want to hear the all "I told you so's". But after he dilated her eyes and then re-examined her, he explained that since her hair was hanging over her right eye it was actually helpful and I should not get it cut for a while. Ha, vindication! He said he would like to see if the glasses help and after we see him in July for the follow up I can then cut her hair. Eric and I had planned to get it cut this summer in WDW, that's why I was so adamant that it not get cut now, so it works out perfectly!!!
