Morning DDA!

Who knew that central air units can differ so much in price?? We've gotten a quote of
$4950, $3950 and $3400 for an American Standard 16 SEER, Guardian 13 SEER or Heil 16 SEER. We still have Home Depot coming out and another local guy that seems promising.

Good morning. :)

Well, I heard back from him. He is not accepting my offer, so now we have to go to court. I so hate this.

I'm sorry you have to go to court. What a pain.

Happy Beleated Birthday Chuck
(Sorry I forgot.)

Happy Yesterday Birthday, Chuck! :)

Good morning...

Tammi- Hang in there..'s

Deb- I am sure Colby will be just fine.:wizard:

Becky- I hope you find the motivation you need. I am dreading tonight's weigh in..it's been a bad week. :wizard:

Emma and I are off to Baltimore. She has her GI appointment this morning at 8:30. Need to leave here around 7:20 to make sure we get there and can find parking. So not fun. Hopefully, the dr. will have some advice that will be helpful and get her feeling a bit better.

Have a great day DDA!!!

I hope the GI appt. gives you some answers! :wizard:

I am glad I got the lawn mowed and all my flowers planted. It looks like we will have 5-6 days of rain here! blech

Rain. Ick.

Deb - When DS was finishing up K the school told me he was "immature" and wanted to test him. There is a test that measures chronological age vs. maturational age but it is too early in the morning for me to think what it is called. It might be Gesell, but I think there is another test they also used. DS was in private school. The test showed a gap between age & maturity, so the school refused to allow him to go to first grade. DS was diverted to a class called "Primer". The public schools call it "Pre 1st". I called it "How the school milks me for another year of tuition."
The guy who did the testing said DS would absolutely NOT mature enough over the summer to succeed in 1st grade. Hmm. So against my wishes, he did Primer. Then we moved to public school, and they had the mixed age 1st & 2nd grade. He went into 2nd grade and did FINE, so we got back the year he "lost". In 3rd grade the teacher said she thought he had ADD and he was diagnosed in 4th grade. Now we are getting ready for testing through the neuropsych to see if that diagnosis will stand. DS has always been on track academically, so Colby's issues are a little different. Good luck getting it sorted out! :wizard:

DS is feeling better today. He doesn't sound as horrible as he did, and he can breathe through his nose now.

He got invited to a paintball party on Saturday. It's for his best friend's birthday - he is VERY excited. :) I told him he better practice ducking because if he gets hit with a paintball it will hurt.

I'm here, and doing well. It's just incredibly busy again. I've been trying to read along.

Theresa, Cassidy (and her friends) looked beautiful! I am very sorry that she didn't make drum major.

Tammi, I'm sorry you have to go to court and that your ex is a real jerk.

Happy Belated Birthday, Chuck! :)

Robyn, I hope the GI is able to help Emma!

Deb - and pixiedust: as you figure out what is best for Colby. I think that he is actually in a good situation being in the mixed classroom (as long as the teacher is well in tune with the different developmental levels of each child). He has the older students as models, and as the younger ones come in, he'll have some opportunity to act as a leader. The teacher can make sure that he is getting the correct work to challenge without frustrating. At his age, a couple of months really can make a big difference in maturity.

Elizabeth, I'm glad that your ds is feeling better and also that the report card wasn't as bad as you expected. I hope he has a great time at the birthday party. I think that I'd have a panic attack with people trying to shoot me (even if it is just paintball).

I'm sure I've missed a few people. Sorry! and pixiedust: all around!

Happy belated Birthday Chuck!

Tammi sorry you have to go to court  This just really irks me, why should he be given an option anyway? He is the one that left, jerk!

Elizabeth I am sure ds will have a fun time playing paintball! When we lived in CA. Gary really enjoyed this.

Good morning. :)

:hug::hug::hug:

I'm so sorry Tammi! Why can't he just be decent for once? You are in my prayers!

Morning, all! It looks like it will be a really nice day here. I hope so. I'd love to put Timothy in the stroller and get out for a walk today!

I got a lot accomplished yesterday! I made all the packing lists for our trip to Disneyland, and went through Jacob's shorts and Katie's shorts. Jacob is fine, but Katie will probably need one or 2 pair. We'll pick those up in the next couple of weeks. Today, I'm hoping to go through the twins clothes. I think they are fine, though. I still need to do 1 shirt for Timothy, and do the swirly Mickey head shirts for all the grandkids. I'm thinking I'll do those on Saturday, as my kids can help with the painting and peeling the flour/water paste off.

On tap for today is to make a list of everything that needs to be done before we leave. I just don't want to forget anything, and my mind is pretty much gone with sleep deprivation!

Have a great day, everyone!

So swine flu has arrived in the Chicago public school system....

A very granola friend of mine is convinced this is all a government conspiracy....her emails are very interesting

Tammi....maybe we could all chip in and have someone have a "talk" with him ;)

So I bought a canned ham yesterday...I haven't made a canned ham in 20 years....anyway, I had trouble with the little metal key so I asked Christopher to help me. He proceeds to break the metal tab. Now I can't get the damn ham out of the can...I tried: a knife, a scissors, a pliers, a screw driver, a can opener, a mini crow bar....swearing and prayer. It was awful. 30 minutes later I finally got the ham out. I completely nicked open my left hand. So it may not be swine flu that kills me...but a canned ham!!!

Hows Bill handling the news?

Owie

Deb, sorry I don't have any words of wisdom on the Colby situation, but I can't help but think that with you and Chris as his parents, he'll be just fine! :thumbsup2

Good morning, DDA!:hippie: I'll be glad when this week's over. Friday is our auction to support the camps our church/work puts on for the foster kids. I've been working a ton of hours in between being Mom's Taxi. Now I'm getting a sore throat. If it doesn't go any further than a sore throat, I can handle that. ;)

:hug::hug::hug:

Deb-you got great advice yesterday about Colby. I wanted to add that Abi didn't learn to tie her shoes until second grade in OT. It just didn't click until then. She also did a lot of things you mentioned in kindergarten but I just chalked it up to a horrid teacher....she improved in 1st grade and was tested in 2nd and went to Speech and OT and her IEP stated she needed more time on standardized testing.

Robyn-hope the GI has some answers. I also hope Lucy gets used to her glasses.

Elizabeth-I am glad DS is feeling better. Cassidy went to school today too...she probably shouldn't have, but what do I know?? I am just the mama.

:wizard::wizard::wizard: and :hug::hug: for everybody else.

he seems oddly calm....he has an infection in his finger...so that is keeping him occupied. I offered to stab it...but he wouldn't take me up on my generous offer! :rotfl2:

Hows Bill handling the news?

I knew I could always count on you!! ;)

Fine. When gangrene sets in and your finger falls off I can say "I TOLD YOU THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN."

I am glad I got the lawn mowed and all my flowers planted. It looks like we will have 5-6 days of rain here! blech
I hope it's not raining Sunday morning. Both of my kids are running in the Train Race.

Good Morning!!

I went to a very good job fair yesterday!! I had to go to plan C on what I was wearing as not only did my shoes beat up my right foot they also helped my pantyhose run (I hate pantyhose anyway). I actually gave out my resume to a few places and then went and got it ripped to shreds:rotfl: by a resume reviewer. On the way out I told somebody I loved their shell...and rode the light rail all the way back with her....she was great. She came to Denver without a job already lined up.:scared1:
