DDA Chapter 17

I think you should at least look into it, Deb. It might come with some wonderful benefits. Plus, think of the future, not the immediate.

I guess it would depend, Deb. Is this type of restaurant a place where people go for special occasions? Or is this a family type restaurant where people go after a day at the mall or after a movie? We eat out a lot, maybe once every week or two, on average. Even with 4 or 5 of us we don't pay anywhere close to $100. We could go to places like that, but choose not to, because it isn't worth it.

I think our competition is Chili's, Ninety nine, Applebees. We are a sit down restaurant with a full bar. We certainly have people that just come for special occassions. We do have an all you care to eat salad bar and we are the only one within a big area.

Deb, The most Hal and I have spent for a couple of drinks for me, beers for Hal and then dinner, was $70 total. I consider that a good price for what we get.

It is a chain, but the smaller portions that TGI Fridays is now serving is just my speed. I have always hated large portions. I don't mind taking home leftovers, but paying for a smaller portion and the price being reasonable, is more to my liking.

Here's a defining question....linens or paper on the table? If you have paper table covers/napkins, you shouldn't be charging $28 for a steak!

I'm going to head to bed. Goodnight everyone.

We have linen napkins on the tables as well as water glasses. The only paper napkins are used under drinks coming from the bar.

One of my coworkers asked me if I had seen a position in the Want Ads for an office manager postion at a company that is 300 yards up the street from our house. She said she read it and immediately thought that I'd be perfect for it. I almost sounds like I is a one person office. I was flattered that she thought of me, but I'm not ready to jump into a full time postion now. I don't want to put Colby in day care this summer. I am also looking forward to working at the aquatics center as I think it is much better for my physical health. Am I stupid not to apply for it since the job market is so limited and I may not be able to find a full time job come September :confused3

What about if you applied to find out more information? You could always decide that it would not work out for you. But it may be flexible and work for you. Just because you apply does not mean that you have to take the job.

The 3 of us can eat dinner for about $75, tip included. But we don't drink. There were 5 of us at breakfast this morning and it was $75, tip included. If we go to Applebee's I think our bill is usually more like $50 for the 3 of us including tip. If I went to Applebee's and all of a sudden their prices were higher than Outback Steaks I would not be a happy camper. For a change that drastic they would need to do some sort of "grand re-opening" or something. And the salad bar doesn't really fit in with a $28 steak.

Thank you all for your advice tonight. I kind of agree that it wouldn't hurt to look into the office job. I would need to create a resume as I haven't needed one in years. Maybe I'll take a walk down there tomorrow to see if I can find out anymore info.

I need to learn to get to bed before midnight.

My Mom is having her cardiac catherization on Monday morning. Hopefully it will go well so she can come home today.

Hope you are all doing well!

Good morning. :)

I hope that little rodent calls for an early spring!

Kristine - I kept forgetting to mention....your money came a few days ago. Thanks!

Is he rooting for the Steelers? If so... YES! :thumbsup2
Yes he did & yes he stayed up for the whole game. He & Dana were hooting & hollering in the living room. The girls & I watched Enchanted on my room.:)

You both are doing awesome!!!! I didn't officially weigh in this week but am down 2lbs on my scale.

Last night Gail and I had a WW friendly party. She made up a batch of 1 point Margaritas, I thought they were fabulous. And we had some fresh salsa, WW multigrain chips & pretzel crisps (2 packs of the pretzels), the Laughing Cow skinny cheese wedges (4 of those) and FF Pringles (15). My total plate and drinks was 15 points.
WTG!!!

pixiedust: Good thoughts for your mom.

Deb,
Good luck with your decision. I would check out the office job just to see what its about. pixiedust:

Good morning!

We booked Sophie's communion party this weekend. We found this cool old German buffet & brew house..looks like Beirgarten inside but no entertainment. They brew all their beer onsite. We chose the buffet brunch (unlimited momosas & bloody mary's) & lots of german specialties & breakfast items. Sophies fav food is German so this was perfect for her.

I have to call the DJ today & print up some invitations. She found a dress but we have to order it. I am surprised how simple it is since she such a colorful & flashy character.:rotfl:
