DDA Chapter 17

We are making chili with ground turkey and some "Jenny Craig" brownies with Neufchatel Cheese instead of Cream Cheese.

That sounds yummy too. It's amazing how many creative yet diet friendly ideas we can come up with.

So even though i raelly dont care who wins--- i really think the Steelers are going to win--but im pulling for cardinals...Just because if the steelers win, they will have 6 rings--cowboys have 5!

Chris is cheering for the Cardinals too.

did you guys read about the new dvc point incentive....now instead of developer points, you get a cruise for 4....depending how much you add on determines the length of the cruise

That sounds really nice, unfortunately we won't be adding on for at least 3 more years.

You both are doing awesome!!!! I didn't officially weigh in this week but am down 2lbs on my scale.

Last night Gail and I had a WW friendly party. She made up a batch of 1 point Margaritas, I thought they were fabulous. And we had some fresh salsa, WW multigrain chips & pretzel crisps (2 packs of the pretzels), the Laughing Cow skinny cheese wedges (4 of those) and FF Pringles (15). My total plate and drinks was 15 points.

That sounds good too. Unfortunately I only have 22 pts a day so 15 at one time would be tough. Once I lose another pound and a half I will only get 20 pts

I need that Margarita recipe please

Me too.

These next 35 seconds are going to be the longest in history.

Be strong, little football watchers!

DS just went to bed. One of our neighbors is hammering. I wish I knew what the attraction was with hammering on your walls all the time. Unfortunately we can't tell if it is the Knocker or the people next door to us. :confused3

Good Evening all. I got home about 15 minutes ago. It was a long day. The meeting wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but then again we didn't really deal with any of the issues. The new chef spent an hour and 15 minutes going over the new menu which hasn't been approved by the owners and after talking to the owners tonight I'm pretty sure it won't be approved. There are just too many changes and the prices as going up so much. I can't imagine people paying 27.95 for an 8 oz filet :scared: They want to put larger sized portions on the menu and increase prices rather than offering smaller portions at reasonable prices. The waitstaff just doesn't think that our community can support an expensive menu. Mind you our filet is priced at 18.95 now and salad bar is included. The proposed new pricing system would charge extra for salad bar too :confused3 I fear that while they are trying to offer new and unique dishes they are going to alienate the customer base that we already have. In any event it is not my decision. My waitress shift went well and I ended up with a 50th anniversary party that treated me very well. I ended up closing the bar after closing the restaurant as the bar tender/owner drives truck on Sunday nights so he had to leave. Thankfully we didn't have any superbowl watchers hanging out.

Now I'm watching the end of the game. Of course I missed all the good commercials :scratchin

That was an incredible game! Arizona did an outstanding job!

Amazing game playing by both teams. Either one could have been victorious!

Deb - I am betting the waitstaff has a better handle on the area economy because you all actually talk to the customers. I hope the owners listen to you!

Daniel is arguing :mic: that he wants to stay up & watch the whole Superbowl. He gets up ay 6am so I said no...Of those of you who have kids his age or so (he's 9) how long are you letting them stay up? Should I let him stay up????:confused3

On a school night, my kids have to be in their rooms by 8:30. For the twins, it's lights out at that time. Jacob and Katie can take another 30-40 minutes to read before lights out. But, from 8:30 on, everyone has to be in their rooms, and they can't come out until morning (unless they have to go to the bathroom).

Tonight it a different story, however. We don't have school tomorrow, as it is a "teacher work day". So, I'm letting them stay up until 9:00.

I can't imagine that the owner's would go for such a steep price increase.

I know if I were a patron and saw those change, I'm sure I would be taking my business elsewhere. I absolutely hate when restaurants serve huge portions.

My parents were telling me that Pittsburgh area schools have a 2 hr delay tomorrow, because of the game!

I just heard that too. Of course, we know everyone will be awake and watching to see if Phil sees his shadow or not! ::yes::

Unfortunately they have never done a cost analysis on their dishes. According to the new chef we are losing money on over half of our dishes based on the current price of everything. While I believe that some things are underpriced I also feel that they could cut back on portion sizes and maintain reasonably priced meals. They want to eliminate our 1/2 portion sizes as they aren't "profitable" and instead supersize everything including the price. This is not the economy to be doing this. Under the newly proposed pricing structure a couple wouldn't get out of there for under $100 with any sort of bar bill. I know I cannot afford that.

So what would you guys be willing to pay for dinner out for two? Maybe I'm over reacting :confused3

I guess it would depend, Deb. Is this type of restaurant a place where people go for special occasions? Or is this a family type restaurant where people go after a day at the mall or after a movie? We eat out a lot, maybe once every week or two, on average. Even with 4 or 5 of us we don't pay anywhere close to $100. We could go to places like that, but choose not to, because it isn't worth it.

Well I tried to wake Nicholas up to let him know the results. He stirred and moaned a bit. I'm sure I'll get yelled at in the morning for NOT waking him up.

One of my coworkers asked me if I had seen a position in the Want Ads for an office manager postion at a company that is 300 yards up the street from our house. She said she read it and immediately thought that I'd be perfect for it. I almost sounds like I is a one person office. I was flattered that she thought of me, but I'm not ready to jump into a full time postion now. I don't want to put Colby in day care this summer. I am also looking forward to working at the aquatics center as I think it is much better for my physical health. Am I stupid not to apply for it since the job market is so limited and I may not be able to find a full time job come September :confused3
