DDA Chapter 13

Noah isn't interested in sleeping at all tonight. I just put him in the swing, hoping that will lull him to crash for a few hours.

Disney on Ice was a cute show. It was the "Worlds of Fantasy" version and the first half consisted of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald, Cars, The Little Mermaid, and The Lion King. The entire second act was Tink and her friends. It was a nice Disney fix.

This evening, Alyssa's preschool held their annual silent auction fundraiser. We won a basket of books, many of which we already had, but it was for a good cause and they'll make nice gifts.

Someone is still awake... :rolleyes1

Hope you all have a nice Sunday! :)
I hope you got some sleep Amy. I don't have any advice for you, since I never went through that, other than the first few weeks.

Elizabeth, congratulations on tackling the 5K instead! :)

Debbie, what a handsome young man! :goodvibes

Good morning DDA!:goodvibes

I forgot to say hi to Tia and Becky!!

Had to turn on my heat. We have to do the lawn today. It is full of leaves and my lawn guy is MIA for the past two weeks. If my DD and I don't get out there and mow, we'll get fined. So I'm going to get the leaf blower and blow the leaves into a pile and let the kids stuff the leaves into the pumpkin bags. Then we'll decorate for Halloween. And hang the lights for Christmas. I won't want to get out there to hang them once it gets much colder than now...

I'm goin g to put Gylnis's pot roast into the crock pot. Hmm hmm good. My son and his family are on their way up to drop off the grandpug while they go on vacation. And we'll weight-in :lmao: :lmao:

Hope you all have a great day!!!

It's coming up quickly now, I almost hate to see it get here, that means it will be over way too soon.

I do have a question for those of you who have stayed at OKW, I keep reading that the beds are brick hard, did you find that to be the case?

I think I'll bring a pillow top mattress cover just in case, I can keep the receipt and return it if we don't use it, we have a queen bed here so if we do use it I can keep it for that bed. I hate extra firm mattresses.
No, not at all. I thought they were very comfortable. That's coming from a person that sleeps on a waterbed.

Good morning. :)

It is a beautiful crisp fall day here. I love this weather.

I just got off the phone with CRO. I was surfing around the WDW site and saw a new teeny tiny ad for a room discount. When I plugged in our dates I found that they have now extended the general public room-only discounts being offered for the holidays to include Christmas Eve. The code is DMK.

(Tammi... what did I say at dinner last night?!?!? Did I see this coming nor not??)

Anyway, I had yet another outstanding CM who was able to modify our reservation and save us $90 on it. But it took a lot of doing on her part because the system was not wanting to modify the girls' reservation. She had me pull up a new reservation with the new code up on my computer for her too so that we could book it if necessary. But she finally refreshed and refreshed and refreshed and she was finally able to apply it to their existing reservation! She also said that they had just gotten the information for this new discount code which began this morning and I was the first one to call and book it with her. :)

We just saved another $180 on this trip. Bob and I just discussed the fact that we would apply it to a plane ticket for Kathrin is need be. We both feel that this trip is very important now.

I'm so glad you were able to save the money, especially if it means it's easier for Kathrin to be with you all! I'm jealous ;), but happy for you all the same .... this will still be a very special trip! :goodvibes

YAY for more savings Elin! I guess travel over the holiday is DOWN!

I think so, just as we discussed last night.

I had plane fare on AirTran for both girls pulled up at a good price too, but when I went to book it the site took forever and new figures came up when all was said and done ($100 more for a one way ticket for Kristin!!) so we will hold off on that now. :sad2:

by the way... the DMK code is good for travel from November 8 - December 24 in case anyone has a room only they want to modify!

That is wonderful! Glad you were able to apply the code! :)

Marci - 50
Robyn - 50
Elizabeth - 51
DS - 54

Good morning, DDA!! I am soooo far behind and no time to catch up today either. Can someone catch me up on the highlights?

The only things that I did catch:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEN!!!

and Elin, I am so sorry for what Kathrin went through this week. Sounds like a crazy business decision in regards to both Kathrin and the salesman. Who knows what that was about.

As for me, we've just be crazy here. I had between 1 and 5 extra kids every day this week. I started babysitting for the baby last Fri and it's going really well. Erin is in the process of changing from her babysitter to an Early Childhood Center across the street from her. So, I'll probably watch Kaylin more between now and Nov 3. Plus, Kristi has her big exit exam for her Master's in counseling on the 27th plus even more clients for her internship, which adds her kids some more. I'm supposed to be thinking of a place I want a gift card from as she wants to buy me one as a thank you. Since we don't have a Disney Store around anymore, I'm trying to decide what I want. I'm thinking some restaurant because that's one thing I like to do, but don't get to very often. I just can't decide though.

Otherwise, we're good. Terra and I took a parent-child cooking class last night and she had so much fun. She loved the title Spooky Treats for Every BODY. Each dish had a body part in the name chicken fingers, blood orange dipping sauce, Lady Finger cake, etc. Now she just can't wait for the next one. I think she and Kassie are going to do a kids only together. Today is swim lessons and then I'm taking her and Kristi's 3 to a Kids Safety Festival with free food, free pumpkins for the kids and a bounce house. Then we're going to McDonald's for customer appreciation day for discounted food, face painting and seeing Grimace. Tomorrow the whole family, sans my husband I'm sure ;) , is going to the pumpkin patch. It's usually a lot of fun and we've found a new place this year that doesn't charge admission for all of the kids playing stuff, so that's good too. Lots of our farms lost many pumpkins in the flooding after Ike so hopefully there will be plenty to choose from.

I'm still working on getting to a trip report. Pictures are finally all loaded, etc. Just have to find time to sit down at the computer more.

Speaking of which - Jennifer or Chanon, are you having a lot of problems with PhotoPass? I've tried a few times lately and can't get on at all.

wow Tia you have been busy. Ocasionally I have problems with photopass. Chanon is done with her pics.

Hi! I hope all of you are doing well!

I have been pretty busy around here.

So airfare is back down to $79 each way for Homecoming. A week and a half later it is $59 each way. Most of December and January it is $79 each way. Now to decide if I want to go for Homecoming or go later for a bit longer. Or not at all and save the money for a trip elsewhere later.:confused3 :confused3
If I want to go for homecoming I need to decide by tomorrow in order to participate in Homecoming band. Although I have work activities all weekend long, so I probably should not.

Or maybe I will go to Boston after X-mas.

I am thinking for the summer going in July to Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. Fly out there and rent a car to travel from place to place. Tau Beta Sigma's national convention is in Phoenix, it is actually over a week long. I would probably only go for a few days and then go to other places. But who really knows.

I am heading to Hersheypark today for Hersheypark in the dark. It is cold out there it is only 50 degrees and very windy. It is supposed to get down to 29 degrees.

I hope you all have a great day.
