I've heard that strollers are available on board. Does anyone have info about this? Are they decent strollers? Thanks for any info.

We rented/borrowed a single stroller on our cruise in Dec. It was pretty awesome. It was a Baby Jogger swivel wheel stroller (City something) that had a great sun canopy, decent basket, and super easy fold and pushed very easily. The big rear air-filled tires worked well on the beach (though it was easier to drag backward rather than push) and my 2 year old found it so comfy she fell asleep in it a few times, and even asked to sit in it for her nap while on Castaway Cay.

The big knock against it was it took up a lot of space when it wasn't folded and it was certainly heavier than an umbrella or smaller stroller (but had more features to be worth it). Pushing it through the ship and on the elevators to get it to our room was a challenge during crowded periods, especially in the smaller elevators. We were fortunate to have plenty of room in our suite so we hung onto it until the last night of the cruise and used it for all of our excursions.

It was a $200 deposit for the stroller that they charged to your room and then credited back when you returned the stroller.

Right--the strollers are borrowed (deposit charged to KTTW, removed when stroller returned). There are also wagons available at Castaway for free. A stroller can be kept for a few hours (one excursion?) or the length of the cruise. As above poster noted, they are big. You might want to consider bringing your own umbrella stroller for the airports and on the ship and getting a big one for excursions.

There are a limited number available and they may run out on some cruises.
