DS3- as excited as his mommy to be at WDW

Jan 8

Took direct flight to FL and got in 30 minutes early - yahoo we are finally here!!- went to p\u rental car at dollar - got a free upgrade to a 2003 van- (wow) weather was around 70 (better then the 15 degree weather and snow we left behind)

arrived at AKL and mighty impressed!!- although did have to wait to get room- believe me it was worth the wait- AKL report on Resort board.

we decided to take it easy the first day- had lunch at mara and checked out the resort- beautiful, lots of great animals and a wonderful oma- after we ate we checked out the Arcade- DS3 thought the arcade was MK (lol) - we finally got into our room after 3:30- hung around on balcony for a while to check out animals- unpacked our luggage and relaxed

6:00 PS for chef mickeys-check out restaurant board for review- the food was okay but the character interaction was fantastic- it never fails when we go out to eat- we always end up sitting beside a kid that won't leave us alone- his mother never asked him to stop climbing all over us while trying to eat and jumping in our pics- this was no little child- he was around 8 years- oh well, he is in lots of our family photos!

oh yeah- the contemporary & AKL still had X-mas decorations up- what a treat and we arrived 1/8!!

stay tuned....no lines at MK!!!!!!!

Sounds like your adventure is off to a good start - thanks for posting!

How can you control yourself when you get to WDW. Even though I always say I'm going to take it easy, the minute I arrive, I have to get to a park! Something just takes over me. As beautiful as the AKL is, I STILL think I would be champing at the bit to go to Epcot!
