I think we are probably going to get in late Friday. I have to talk to my brother and see what time we can leave. It probably wouldn't be until about 7 at the earliest. So I am not sure about a Friday meet.

How about dinner Saturday at DCA at 6:30 pm? We could meet in the area of Pacific Wharf Cafe, Cocina Cucamonga, and the new chinese place. That would give us plenty of choices to pick from.

"The Boss" He'll like that ;)

We're in for Friday, where ever we decide to meet. We'll be heading over after work (around 6:00 - 7:00ish). We want to see the 10:30 F! that night.

Saturday is still up in the air for me, just because we have to get up so early on Sunday morning for the Expo (it's the only day we're attending, we have an hour drive from our house, and I want to get there eeeeearly). So whatever you all decide for this day, I probably won't know until Fri or Sat if I'll be tagging along that night.

Well, then....

Why don't we plan on Fantasmic! at 10:30pm on Friday....and drinks and/or dinner on Saturday night.

Sounds good to me! I'll send you my phone # on Facebook so it'll be easier to keep in touch. Can you relay to Don in case he doesn't see this?

Deann, and anyone else, does this work for you all?

Sounds good. I pm'd you my number so you can call me and let me know what you all decide for Sat. night. See you all soon!

I'm down for D23. I'll try to catch up with you (everyone) on Friday evening.

Ah........it feels great to be connected to the real world again. I have my iPhone, but three days without a real computer is way too many. :surfweb:

I had a great time at the D23 Expo. :cool1:

I'm sure all the details of the actual Expo are out there already, if not, I'll talk about that later. For now, I just wanted to talk a little bit about our meets.

This was a solo trip for me, so I coordinated with Don (SFBayDon) and Rob (guynwdm) to tour the Expo. I had a great time, though the long hours at the Expo and the Parks made us a little punchy toward the end of the weekend. :rolleyes1

On Friday night, the 3 of us met Chrysty (PryncessChrysty) and her boyfriend/fiancee/better half Daniel for Fantasmic!. Murphy the new dragon performed, but like the diva that she is, didn't want to leave the stage.

On Saturday night, we met up for dinner at DCA. Chrysty was there again (but not Daniel, we scared him away). Deann (deann), her brother, niece and nephew also joined us as did Kim and Danelle and their son Brody, who travelled from Canada to visit the Expo (and Disneyland).

Meets like this are what makes the DISboards great......I was gonna get all mushy right now, but I just drove the 4 hours home from the Expo....my eyes are starting to glaze over....I'll finish this thought and get all mushy tomorrow....stay tuned.

What an amazing group of DIS'ers! Thanks every one for a great few days and sharing in our passion for Disney. I look forward to trip reports soon. I am off to write one now.
Don

For our first DISmeet to be on the weekend of the Expo was just a cap off to a great week. I (Danelle) was a little apprenhensive but Kim said we love the Boards we need to meet the people who help make it great. We went having no idea who we were meeting and what they looked like. We scanned everyone trying to figure out what fellow DISers looked like and then in the sea (well small gathering) we saw the green Mickey head. Kim walked up shook hands and that was that. We laughed, we talked Disney and got a bit of exercise chasing Brody. It was a great first meet for us! We look forward to seeing you again.

We did! It was the one presentation we were able to attend.

John Lasseter presented/previewed Toy Story 3D (2 & 3), Rapunzel, the upcoming Tinkerbell movies (there will be a series of them), a new Winnie the Pooh movie that goes back to the style of the first ones, The Princess & the Frog, Prep & Landing (a holiday special for ABC) and two brand new "Mater's Tall Tales" shorts (both directed by Lasseter). I think that's the bulk of it. :3dglasses

It was so nice meeting you & your family! I'm sorry we never had a chance to talk, though. LOL I hope to see you again. :goodvibes

The Pooh movie will take him back to the classic style. They went back to the Milne books and are using some stories they've never used before. They had a few stories they liked. They first thought of doing them seperately, but in the end integrated the stories together.

Rapunzel has long hair. :rotfl:

Sorry don't remember much about that one, other than it's not hand-drawn animation.
