Cutting in Line

I'm usually the FP "runner" for our family and more often than not I'm waiting for them at the next location. If, by some chance, they got there before me they would wait for me before getting on line. To me, if you are talking about someone getting out of line to go get FPs for the group then that really isn't a FP "runner".

I have a 16yr old younger sister and when we are down there sometimes our parents will be in line and we might get out of line another way and go to the bathroom or go get a snack or something along those lines. I think your very judgemental you do not now what we were doing and it does not concern you. if you wouldnt let me and my younger sister through to go back up to our parents i am sorry to tell you that you would be in for a rude awakening. I think the fact you are saying a kid and a parent can go and not 2 teens or older is BS.

This is one of the reasons people have a problem with "line cutting".
Perhaps this is the result of not teaching children to wait in line.

Cutting - even if you've been in line already. First, there is seldom "another way" to get out of a line - you either go back through the line and the people waiting, or you go forward to the loading platform and out the 'chicken exit', in which case, if it's an emergency, a Cast Member can assist you getting back in line. Second, at sixteen and older, you certainly SHOULD be able to go to the bathroom BEFORE your group gets in line. Finally, getting a snack? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: No, you're NOT getting back in line.

Sorry, it does concern me if you are increasing my length of time waiting in line. At your age, and at your sister's age of 16, you are old enough to either hold it if you need to potty, use the facilities before getting in line or to be able to stand politely in line without need for snacks or drinks. My 5 & 12 year old DSons can do it, surely you can too.

I have gotten out of line with the youngest because he decided he needed to go potty and we either then skip that ride or return later and get back into line at the end. That is the correct and polite thing to do.

I'm afraid to ask what "rude awakening" you would give to someone who would not let you pass. I'm sure that a CM would have a "rude awakening" for you if you tried to protest being blocked. Not only could you be escorted from the line but also, potentially, from the park.

you are all so ridiculous, i can understand a whole group cutting would be a pain, but one or two people. next time i will be sure to pee on your foot instead of leaving my family to run to the bathroom :)

So instead of excusing yourself and taking care of business and then returning to the back of the line, you would embarrassingly relieve yourself on someone else. I would hope that you are just pot stirring but I fear that you could really be that selfish. That is absolutely disgusting. If anyone ever purposefully peed on my foot you better believe that the CMs would hear about it and most likely the person who did it would be kicked out of the park and possibly arrested.

Don't feed the trolls... I'm not certain, but the 'pee on your foot' poster may be a troll. Responding to these kind of posts only makes the troll more ... reactive.

I agree that no ride is worth a 2-4 hour wait. In fact, I won't wait longer than an hour.
::yes:: Recently - in the last five years or so - I've waited an hour or more: once at Soarin' over California in the standby line (followed immediately by another ride using my now-active FastPass, followed immediately by another ride using the single riders line - three rides in less than a half hour!); once at Toy Story Midway Mania because all the FastPasses were gone for the day; once at Kali River Rapids because I had a FastPass for another attraction; and once at Expedition Everest (the attraction for which I had the FastPass) because we WANTED to see the standby queue.

When we were walking extremely fast at the Haunted Mansion line we had a couple that was nearly jogging so they could get in front of us, in which they did. Very annoying. Then if that wasn't enough, they let all 4 of their kids in front of us too! UGH!!! Yeah I was somewhat livid!:sad2:

We should all face it, that some people just have no manners at all and are just plain rude and self centered.

It's line cutting plain & simple, it's also rude to expect others to tolerate it. Not to be accused of being a troll at the bridge but if I can wait in line so can anyone else. We all spend good money to be at WDW, we all value our time and experiences, we all have to wait our turns to ride. Line cutting is not accepted in this household, nor would we do it.

While I did say that I'd definitely let someone out to go to the bathroom, I do think that getting a snack is unnecessary and a little rude unless you have a low blood sugar problem or another medical issue that requires it.

The trouble is, there's just no way to know. I can sit here and make distinctions all I want, but when actually in a line, I can't distinguish between someone who has to leave the line and someone who is just tired of waiting and wants to run off to somewhere else before returning. Since I don't know, I just wouldn't say anything unless it were a big group. I guess I'd personally rather be inconvenienced than risk being uncaring toward someone who had been waiting patiently but absolutely had to leave the line.

I certainly understand those of you who would disagree, though. What I said can also be an argument in favor of letting no one pass because you never know when you're being duped.

Which again YOU or YOUR MOM should be prepared for. My DD loses her MIND when her blood sugar dips.... we know this and have small pocket sized snacks to prevent this.

I just don't think there is a good reason for exiting and reentering the line.

Sure there are plenty of reasons to EXIT a line and we have exited many a line. I just don't see a reason to rejoin your family.

As my 4 year old would tell ya "Sometimes life just isn't fair"

If you need a snack or need to pee, you get out and then go to the back of the line, it really is quite simple.

This.

I have low blood sugar AND am on medicine that makes me have to immediately find a bathroom sometimes. Do I make everyone else in line suffer so I can feel like a special snowflake? No.

My Mother actually taught me better than that

One or two people for me is not a big deal- but a bunch of people- yes, I might get P.O.'d. But what do you do?? Freak out??? While you're on vacation??? Make things uncomfortable for people in your party and be in a bad mood?? In the grand scheme of things there are more important things to get upset about. Relax, and go with the flow. :hippie:

I wouldn't think much of one person joining in with family/friends. However, my DH has no problem speaking up to groups of people (mostly teens that we see) and telling them to go back to the end. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. My teens would never cut. When we have a runner for a fp, we all wait to get in line. If not, someone will wait to ride with the runner while the rest of us take the youngest on if we anticipate the line building up fast. That way the youngest can sit and have a snack or look at something nearby while waiting for the runner to ride.

:rotfl2: Sorry but I have to say when someone says that they are coming back in line after "leaving another way" I take that as maybe you never left the line because you were never in said line. A PP said there are usually only 2 ways out of a line, back thru the line or to the front where a CM helps you out and back in.
And for someone to say they will give someone a rude awakening if they block them or won't let them by? I say go for it, lol..I'm game.
It's like the families that get in the single riders line and then get in the pre show room and as we reform a line, they push by me to be with mom or dad, in which they said "I need to catch up to mom and/or dad" and I say "excuse me, this is a single riders line, you aren't riding with your party" and they look at me like huh??? (I'm not talking about little kids with their parents, talking about older kids and worse, ADULTS that have said that to me)
Ok sorry, had to get that off my chest.....

Relax, just let me cut in front of you and everything will be just fine! :thumbsup2 How about relaxing a bit and having your party wait for you at the next attraction? Reading the thread over, I see that you've had nothing but good luck nudging past people when you do this. But hopefully now that you've read through, you'll see that just because no one has *challeneged* you on your strategy, you are more than likely annoying some people. Does that not bother you at all? :rolleyes1

I hate that you felt like you had to be sarcastic and take me to task. I'm just trying to lighten the mood here. I have 5 kids and live a pretty busy life running a business - when I'm here I hate to come across as argumentative or cause anyone to get all heated. I'm not a park commando and it's not that I put my poor wife in line with 5 kids as I fly around the park getting fastpasses and stopping for a beer (though it has been done - hehe). But I am of the just relax philosophy - and anyone who asks to slip by me I just say "ok". Honestly, if someone is scamming me, that's fine - I really don't give it any thought - I'm really not at Disney to deal with stuff like that - I'm trying to have a fun time and make as many memories with my family as I can while they are still young and still around.

And if I was ever challenged, if it was really gonna ruin their day...I think I would just message my wife and tell her to go on. I'm pretty easy going - if it's gonna change your life to go first at a stop sign, then just go. If you want me to not pass you in line, that's cool - I've ridden every ride at Disney hundreds of times.

So, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm not trying to cheat any system - just grab a fastpass every now and again. If my family heads on in a line and gets to the ride, it's no big deal - if I can catch up with them without swimming across the water at It's a Small World, then I will. But no matter what, you would be hard pressed to find me at Disney in anything but a good mood - no matter what people do.
