How can this NOT be considered cutting line? :

A fastpass runner secures the family FP's while the family joins a line elsewhere. The runner then passes other people who were clearly there before him to "rejoin his party." This technique is suggested in several touring plans I have examined. This Party is clearly enjoying an advantage of being at two places at the same time.

Does anyone else have a problem with this? I would have a hard time allowing someone to pass my children in a line when we were clearly there first.

Considering I don't see it done too often and if its only 1 person, I wouldn't care. I actually wouldn't care if the person did it even if it was done or I saw it done more. I want to sit next to my DH on a ride so if there is one person or 2 people in front of me (together) it wouldn't matter, so the second person joining the other person already in line wouldn't make a difference to me.

This comes up about once a week around here. I'm assuming you're about to get hit with a can of worms.;)

I don't do it but one person wouldn't bother me too much - not that many people can coordinate it that well to do this - but I could see how it would bug people - does WDW do anything about it?

Yep, no big deal to us.

No this doesn't bother me nearly as bad as when someone steps over the chains to "beat us" to the front of the line at Mad Tea Party when we're going through the queue the right way. They see us coming, make eye contact, and jump the chains (or unhook them and step right on up). It's happened at least a few times. We don't say anything, lest there be another "line incident" at the Tea Cups.

Don't mind and have done it. I might get flamed but I will be honest. I don't mind if it's one person. What I mind is when one person waits in line while others ride another ride and then join them in the line. We were in line for RnR before and there were two people in front of us. All of a sudden, 15 people (no exaggeration) came and cut in line right in front of us to join them. That, I have a problem with. The other time I think it is "acceptable" is when a little one has to use the bathroom. I have saved a spot in line when a mother and daughter had to do this.

I wouldn't mind too much if it were just one person, as the previous poster said. A big group cutting in would annoy me.

Doesn't bother me at all for single FP rider or child having to use the bathroom. Now last Sunday at Space Mtn there was a group of about 10 teens wanting to catch up with their party and I would not let them pass.

We have done it before. It's not the norm for us but we have done it.
Again, if one person- no big deal but if a whole family, that is not cool.

The only time I find it a little inconvenient is when people try to smash through a line that hardly has enough room to stand single file comfortably. Otherwise, I try not to let anyone put a damper on our fun. :)

or a bucket of popcorn::

and usually when one of these ---> popcorn:: is put in a thread it usually means that the thread is doomed lol.

I honestly wouldn't care. If there's 5 people in front of me and then that family's father jumped in line ahead of me I wouldn't care either way there's still a family in front of me, whats 1 more member going to do?

NOW if 5 people ran and got FPs and 1 person was holding the spot for the family that would get me annoyed.

:surfweb: On our second trip to the world, we hit epcot at rope drop, i scooted ahead of my wife and kids to get fps for soaring, i told my wife to wait at the entrance to the line for me to catch up, they actually got on line and by the time i got her on the walkie talkie they were about a 1/3 of the way down the line. :confused3

I told them to wait right there, let folks pass and I caught up with then in a few minutes. :woohoo: It didnt seem right to force my way through the line

I also consider it rude and would call it cutting. What we do is if one person is getting FPs the rest of us wait near the mouth of the line and we all get into line together once the FP runner catches up with us. Really, how much time is saved by having people get in line early and having the FP runner cut to catch up?

It does not bother me if a little one needs to get out of line to go potty, I let them pass to return to their spot in line; however, we don't do this, we just get in at the end of the line after our pitt stop.

Vegas over/under on # of pages in this topic: 9.5. Place your bets.

I would probably take the over on this one. Can I go back and check first? :lmao:

To answer the OP's question, I'm like others. One person doesn't bother, it's when there is more than one person, in the same party, trying to cut through. I've learned not much you can really do about it, unless you want to throw down with someone and risk incarceration. These people are down right rude and will push you out of the way to get there. Plus I'm in no hurry. I'm on vacation. I just take in the extra sites while I'm line.

:rotfl: I would take the under thinking it would get locked by 9.5 but the posts have been rather civil so far - :scratchin

I am also taking under, its been pretty fired up around here lately.
So popcorn::popcorn:: lets get ready to rumble!!!!!!

FWIW we will not do that, but I do see people do it alot. Espically with the TSM mad morning dash.

One person does not bother me. I think it is cutting when 1 parent waits & then the other brings in the kids so the kids don't have to wait, I make my kids wait in line. And they have done since 18 mths old. the bathroom thing doesn't bother me either, because we all know that kids never have to go when you ask them. ;)
I found this to be way worse at DL then WDW. I mean one or two people wait & then groups of a dozen or more cutting in. They had CMs waiting in the lines to prevent this. And I saw a large group of about 12 get asked to leave, this was after I saw them try this at 3 different attractions, through out the day.
