Customized Magic Band Album, Tips and Pictures, please read first page before posting

I printed a design I made on printable vinyl, then cut it out using my silhouette machine.

I don't remember if I ever uploaded this or not, so here it is (possibly again :) )

Yeah, I missed a spot on the blue ear, but it's glitter and nail polish, not exactly difficult to fix. I painted the section with a coat of polish, then poured loose fine glitter over it in a big pile and kinda smooshed it down with the lid of the glitter container. Then I let the whole pile dry for an hour, dumped the excess off, tapped it on the desk a few times to make sure all the loose stuff was off, brushed anything extra off the non-polished part, and did the same with the second color. I need to figure out something to do to seal it, though, because the weekend I was there it rained every day but the last, and water + glitter = no good.

Ariel loved it, though, because it matched her tail. :)

We won't be getting our new bands for about a month so I decided to experiment with our old bands, here is what I came up with.

I didn't want to nail polish or a drawn on design since I don't have a steady enough hand to make it look nice so I went with rhinestones and sequins.

Sorry these turned out so big!

Decided to join the MB decorating gang. Came out ok. Could have placed Rapunzel a little better. It kind of looks like she's wearing glasses. Also I scraped a little off a little of her nose somehow. And I was a little heavy handed with the glitter in the hair on top of her head. Going to try to do a few more.

One down... 4 to go! Waiting for the Frozen tattoos (eBay), still not sure what to do with the baby's (thinking Minnie/Daisy) or mine (was going to do Maleficent... but got a pink band).

I did not use a base coat before I put the temp tattoos on. I measured them with the clear plastic sheet still on and marked with a marker on the clear plastic- then cut to the width of the band. I made sure to rub it firmly onto the band before adding water. I covered it with one coat of clear polish on the top and sides.

I put all of the tattoos on with the band open, the skull cracked when I closed it. I will make sure the side tattoos I do for the other bands will be closed when I do the side tattoos.

The photos were taken with the polish still wet.

Finished my husband's band. Maybe. I may end up doing the bottom black like the top. We will see how we both feel about it in the next couple of days. This is freehand with a black nail art pen, no top coat at this time. I want it to dry at least overnight before I try that. I still think it looks pretty good. I also will add the photo that I used for reference (Darth Maul is in shadow in the photo, which is why his horns are not visible- trying to make the horns would have been a nightmare, lol).

Here's a picture of the bands we used for the SWW. (please excuse the black band which is my Vivofit) We received many comments and compliments from other guests and CM's who were wondering where we got the new bands. And were wondering why Disney doesn't sell these. ;)

These were temp tatoos put on over white nail polish. I covered my entire band with the polish and just the inner section of DH's.

For my first attempt at customizing a Magic Band I just went with something simple and cheap, because I had the nail polish on hand. I had two yellow ones so I thought what the heck! All I added was a little pixie dust to mine! pixiedust:

I just got back from the park with my first attempt at a decorated MB. It was pink and I just slapped a bunch of glitter nail polish all over it, as opaque as possible. It sure was sparkly and I got a lot of compliments, but I didn't like that the pink showed through underneath.

I had a red MB, so I just finished decorating it. This time, I kept it in the same color family. Used a clear base coat, then yellow and orange glitter polish in a gradient, and then black for the Mickey, all topped with a super shiny top coat. I think it looks pretty good!

I didn't mean for it to, but I think it kinda looks like Iron Man. Whoops! I wanted it to look like Mickey, haha.

Pics of the band done for DH - the NE sports fan. Far from perfect but he liked it. :)

We just got back and had 2 sets of bands that I decorated. One set had 3 or so coats of nail polish (was changing it to white) and temp tattoos topped with a base coat and the readers had no issues. The other band I had I had glued rhinestone type pieces and one was right over the reader. Again - no problems at all. In fact I think the readers almost worked better than when I was last there and just had plain bands.

I just placed the temp tattoo over the holes and they molded themselves over. I did have to clear the holes from some of the nail polish but the tattoos were no problem.
