Customized Magic Band Album, Tips and Pictures, please read first page before posting

finished!

The dark purple on the shells, sebastian's claw, and each bubble have the corresponding color of glitter, it doesn't show up in the picture very well though. I think it's so fun!
This is acrylic paint (minus the glitter that is nail polish) on a pink band with a clear nail polish topcoat.

Left to right: DW, Me, DD, my sister.

Finally done! Single coat of clear base coat, tattoos, painted mouse heads, two coats of matte top coat on the tattoos, one to two coats of clear top coat on the mouse heads. The matte makes the bands look like they came straight from Disney like that.

The wife and I assembly lined these into the wee hours last night. She's especially proud of DD's Mickey head. I'd wholeheartedly agree.

Here are ours. My DH went to University of Florida and just wanted a simple Gator themed band. I just added the blue to the orange band and it came out great. I am surprised he let me do that much.

I made one for me that is navy and pink. I went basic to see how the process of painting the bands went. The second one I made I was going for an Ariel inspired under the sea/bubble theme.

The one tip I have is to paint the Mickey head first. It was much easier that way.

This one is my DD15's AP band. I decided to try acrylic paints this time. I'm planning to finish it with some glow in the dark nail polish on the lightning and a clear coat over the whole band.

ETA: Here is the other band I did today. Also acrylic paint with a polish over the top.

Here are my magic bands. my dad and I are staying at POP and we wanted a 60's theme. I painted mine as a flower power band. It started as yellow. I painted my dad's as a peace symbol/tie dye theme. It started as orange. I had a lot of fun doing this. Thanks for the inspiration!

Ok, I had a couple of hours available today so I had to try it. I got a scrap piece of fabric and made a slip cover for MB and started painting(strictly as an experiment). I liked the wrapping effect that occurred where I painted outside the outlines of the MB and it wrapped underneath(2nd pic). Unfortunately, now I may have a new addiction since I can make as many covers as I want.

.
Maleficent- I free handed except for the 'briar' tattoo that I embellished. I used nail art pens, nail polish, and the rhinestones that came with the nail art pens.

....a nod to The Enchanted Tiki Room at DL. We haven't managed to make it to the Tiki Room at MK yet. My grandson and I spent a lot of time there the first two years of his life, when I took him to DL once a week (and his mom worked there a few years before he was born), so it has special meaning.

This is my latest band...my "croc embossed" done two ways. Or three ways if you count the color changing aspect....it is painted with the uv nail polish so it looks black indoors and outdoors...well, you can see here that it is blue in the sunlight.

The stretchy tan fabric that the chain is sewn to doesn't show at all when it is on, since it goes under the band, but even if it did it would not really be noticeable, since it is sort of skin toned and is under the chain. The fabric is only under the parts that need to be held taught....the rest hangs loose like a regular chain bracelet and hooks with a normal jewelry clasp, although I may switch it to a magnetic clasp to make it a little easier to put on and take off.

Goofy is DH's favorite character, so he had to have a Goofy band.

The other band is for StormRider at Tokyo Disney Sea. The radar part glows in the dark.

Wreck it Ralph and Ariel characters were vinyl stickers from an Etsy shop. Anna & Elsa were stickers, the clear plastic kind. The nails and other "wreck it" themes were also clear plastic scrapbook stickers. The shells were scrapbook stickers, but NOT clear plastic - they fell off the first day there. The bubble stickers (and seaweed ones) stayed on all week, as did the vinyl. Anna & Elsa did start to peel.

My son's, which was not shown since it had his name, was a magic your band. We cut it down to just his name, and I'm not sure if that was why or what, but it did not hold up for the week.

All paints were nail polish. The edges rubbed off.

I needed something quick and easy! Used only nail polish and nail decals. Black nail polish for Mickey's head; clear with glitter for overall coverage; clear top coat to finish. (Decals and Nail polish were purchased at CVS and the polish was the least expensive that I could find. LOL)

These are the first ones I did in Dec. for DS and his DGF. I based them off stained glass designs I found. It is a combinations of acrylic and model paint and outlined in Sharpie. I tried to spray with acrylic sealer, but that made the Sharpie run, so I ended up using nail topcoat to seal. They lasted pretty well but they did chip in places over their 5 day trip.
