Will Canadians and Americans be watching the 2026 World Baseball Classic/Baseball World Cup? ⚾️

It will be a highly watched event though with baseball coming back to the Olympics in 2028.

Thought you might be interested ... spent evening last night with my family member who is MLB player who is going to the World Baseball Classic. He said USA players are excited and VERY serious about winning this. He said since they, at this point, can not play in the Olympics this is the World Championship games to them.

Supposedly MLB will be in the Olympics but at the moment the WBC is the World Cup of Baseball for the world champion. Most USA sports want to follow an international soccer like format. It's just a matter of when not if at this point when it becomes the standard.

I don't think it has been finalized but def on the table with logistics being discussed. They'd really have to be sure it won't disrupt their season if you are looking at top players on successful teams. As a team if I am paying a top player, do I let them take off during a time I might really need them. This Classic is during spring training so doesn't impact the season.

He didn't say that outright, he just said their focus is the World Championship since at this point Olympics is not an option. I think it being in middle of season is ... the drawback, especially if your team is doing well and in contention. He was in the MLB playoffs last year so if that is a possibility do you want to take time away from the team?

Watched the WHOLE game tonight, I don't usually make it ............ but family member played so was worth it.

AND I watched some of the US/Brazil game last night ........... I was very disappointed with the commentators.

The US is not going to play on big FOX but rather on FS1 tomorrow… I’m sensing they’re only going to win if their games are televised on big FOX
