Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Didn't know whether the original person had to specify anything to Bernard's or not...It didn't say anything about that on his site, and I had no experience with him to tell me that I could be lumped with the others.

I guess the only way to be sure would be to contact Bernard and explain the situation...

As posted previously my family of 4 is doing Bernard's Tours.

This is our 2nd ever Cruise (last year we were on the Dream 3 day Feb to Bahamas).

The people I have talked to have told me Bernard's has several group tour vehicles of 6, 8, or 12 or more sizes. So if you are touring solo I would think you would be grouped accordingly to one of the vehicles with an open seat.

Everyone talks highly of the service and tour around the island and that they take side trips when time allowed and requested to other locations like stopping to feed the Iguanas bananas etc....

Maybe if you sign up you will be on our tour??

:welcome: to all the newby's! :flower3:

Any space for a solo rider? :rolleyes1

We probably do, but we are paying quite a bit more than $40/ea for the "private" van ;) Not sure of your financial circumstances, but as simbasmom2 states below, it would be cheaper to do their group offering. I'm sure you could request to be added to the group of fellow travelers. I've talked with Bernard himself...he's very accomodating :goodvibes

Frank, if you find Bernard's tours online you can see their offerings. We booked a group tour, not private. It is a small bus worth of people it looks like. I bet they have several buses. We have booked this one, so maybe you would ride along with us. It is only $40 pp, not bad!

Like I said - I wasn't sure how he worked. I'll be certain to give him a call to see what can be done. I would like to get on a tour with others from our group, so if there's space it sounds like he'll be able to work something out.

Thanks!

Hi All,

I've been MIA for quite a while. After quite a lot of thought we have decided that we will not be able to go on this cruise. :sad2:
My job will be ending on March 6 and since I haven't found another job yet (and the final payment is due next week) we can't postpone the decision any longer. We are in the process of rebooking a cruise in November so we can go to the F&W festival and meet up with a bunch of people that we met last year on an ABD tour. Hopefully by the time that cruise comes around I'll have a job and they will allow me to take the time off.

Since I was the one that set up the FB page I've made everyone that was in the group (as of last weekend) an administrator, so if you have access to the page you can now add anyone to the group. To do so, just friend the person and then add them to the group. If someone could please add Cindy to the list that would be fantastic!

I know you all will have a fantastic time. I may drop by the thread every once in awhile to read about your plans.

Ta,
Jane

Jane (2EagleMom),
I am so sorry to hear you are not going to be able to attend the cruise. I will continue to pray for you and good fortune to come your way. A new job will come, when it is time it will happen!
Thank you for asking to have someone add me, although I still cant see anything :sad2: ...anyone can you help-?

Cindy

Hey there everyone!! I am so beyond excited!! This Sunday we can book the excursions and all activities!! It has been so hard to watch all of you seasoned DCL Cruisers talk about all the stuff you have booked...or not depending on availability . It is finally our turn! I plan on staying up until midnight to do everything...does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts for us?

I just put in my request for time off with work yesterday. APPROVED :)

I also spoke with the kiddos teachers about them missing school for the time we will be gone on the cruise. Out of curiosity has anyone experienced not so supportive teachers when you say your child will be out of school for almost two weeks? what a mess!

This weekend I am hoping to finish up some of the fish extender items...I am almost done! SO EXCITING!

I need to start looking for cool pirate gear for the pirate night- what kinds of things do you all suggest?

78 DAYS!!!! SO EXCITING!!!

Hi Cindy!
I have a middle schooler and a high schooler...so I am a little nervous this time. Middle school wasn't an issue and definately grade school wasn't a problem either. I have only taken them out for a week. So I guess it wasn't too bad. I don't worry about my kids getting behind, as they are better students than I was:rotfl:. We wont leave until right after school on the Friday before and plan to come home right after the cruise. We were going to stay for one day after, but I rather get them back let them rest and do their work on Sunday. I will be crying leaving the ship knowing I have to go straight back home:rotfl2:. I would love to stay and play at WDW.

My sister leavs this week for the Dream....soooo jealous. Then she gets to go on the Fantasy in June!

I love working on FE gifts...makes it feel sooner that what it is! Since it is now February, we can say we sail in 2 months!!!

For the most part, I am not too worried about the kid's getting behind, I jsut could not believe how some of the teachers were expecting my son to work on stuff while we are on vacation. I have already told the kids the only time they will work on anything is on the plane, to and from. Other than that- vacation it is!!! We will be coming home on Saturday, also to have Sunday to recover and catch up before we get back into the grin on Monday :teacher:.

I am also super jealous of your sister...how awesome!! AND that she is on the Fantasy in June as well- that is so exciting!

I love the thought that we are able to day we set sail in TWO MONTHS!- LOVE IT!

:cheer2::banana:

Google for any local Costume stores and/or Party Rental stores (they also usually have costumes for sale). I noticed these guys have a location in Denver.

http://www.partycity.com/category/h...+costumes+accessories/mens+pirate+costumes.do

Or you can just go to any discount or thrift store and piece one together; puffy shirt, striped torn pants, bandanas etc.

You're gonna have a great time that night!!!pirate:

I would be jealous of your sister, but I am going on the Dream on February 16th, then of course I will be on the Fantasy on this cruise in April, then in June I do a 2 night on the Magic and then August a 8 night on the Magic so can't be jealous of anyone:rotfl2:

Okay, now we're all going to be jealous of you.:rotfl:

I finally have everything paid off. Waiting impatiently until the 6th to book excursions. Of course it's on a day I work, and I can't get online at work. I work 12 hour shifts, so I'll be up a little before 5am so I can book.

Last week I had a request for the most current FE list, because they were doing some personalized gifts... So I decided to "share" the google document with the email address I had on file:thumbsup2

Please let me know if you did not receive this and I will try and send it as an excel doc instead.

Nikicares> thank you very much for posting the fe list and information! At the moment I am being flighty and going back and forth on fe, as this is my first Disney cruise and I'm not sure if I sign up I am going to be taking on too much in one go. :worried:

Three questions, besides pirate's night and formal night, are there any other themed nights to anticipate?

Second, do we get our dining schedule the same time we can start planning on the website and book excursions etc?

Besides wishes, are there any other shows (golden mickeys, villians, believe, etc) that are going to be on the fantasy?

Conceptualice-

This is too our first Disney cruise, although I am going to participate in the FE. I figure it is a one time thing for right now, and I really want my kids to have the full experience! I have been accumulating the FE gifts for quite some time. I do have a couple that I am making custom, just because I love to be crafty and there still is plenty of time. Just think about it, you will not be sorry that you participate :flower3:
As for the other questions you asked, I am not really able to help...:confused3. I can tell you one thing though, I have spent MANY MANY hours on the computer here on the blog, on the disney websites as well as MANY more website researching the cruise...this will help you to see what kinds of things you can expect. :surfweb:
I can tell you one thing- if you call the Disney Cruise phone line for customer service, they probably can tell you when your dining schedule. And everytime I have called they have been AWESOME! Makes me more excited when I talk with them!! :goodvibes

Steveston, This store is actually close to my house! I will totally be going over there to see what they have! Awesome suggestion, Thank You! I am so excited for the cruise and for the Pirate night especially!! I might end up letting the kiddos use their pirate costumes for Halloween this year too- double bang for the buck! So one question I have...the in-laws are coming too...not sure if they will want to dress up, but I have a feeling they will regret it if they dont. Do you agree, that I should find a way to convince them? I am really thinking so!

Well obviously you know them best but I can tell you two of the people we hung out with that night were two Grandparents in their 70's with their grand child and they had two of the best costumes on board! He had a hook for his hand and everything and they had a ball! It's also the night they fire the fireworks off the boat so whether or not they dress up they'll want to be there!pirate: Our daughter went as a pirate for Haloween too.

Besides wishes, are there any other shows (golden mickeys, villians, believe, etc) that are going to be on the fantasy?

The three main shows on our cruise are Disney's "Aladdin" a Musical Spectacular (Obviously based on the Movie Aladdin), Disney's "Believe" (which touches on several Disney stories), and Disney's "Wishes" (Also touches on several Disney stories). "Aladdin" and "Wishes" are brand new productions!
