Considering canceling August trip following FL handling of Trayvon Martin murder.

I too think that the state of Florida did a terrible job handling this case, but I wouldn't miss out on a wonderful trip to WDW. How they are handling the arrest of Zimmerman is a perfect example. If Zimmerman is innocent a jury will find him not guilty. I am watching RIGHT NOW the just released police video of Zimmerman getting out of the Police car on the NIGHT of the murder. UMMMMM no bloody nose (no blood on his shirt) and the back of his head looks….. ummm okay no blood, or gash in his head. He has a nearly bald head (VERY low hair cut so you can see his scalp clearly) He turns around SEVERAL times too. Nothing. Zimmerman is VERY calm – casual even. The Police look at the back of his head but seems to think it is okay. MSNBC is playing this video over and over again.

Let us not forget that medical personal was called to help Zimmerman. Maybe the medical personal cleaned up his wounds. I know my DH had some wounds on his head and it was hard to tell when you was on camera at a family reunion. And then again, maybe he didn't have any wounds. It would be interesting to see the medical file from the ambulance call for Zimmerman.

There is a nice small area of restaurants but a good part of Sanford is shut down businesses, crack dealers, drug addicts and prostitutes. Not really worth visiting, especially at night.

Yep. Sanford is no place I would want to live, let alone visit.

I've been to R.C. Sproul's church and along International Parkway and it all seems nice to me. Maybe I avoided all the bad parts.

I guess the moral of this story is everybody should just stay where you are because every single other location in America and perhaps the world (excluding the polar ice cap) is populated exclusively by sex workers who sell you drugs and then kill you.

This is true. Happens to me every time I leave the state.

Despite what we would like to think, Orlando has never been a "happy place". It is a dangerous place with dangerous people. As long as we stick near the theme parks away from the thugs and gangbangers and keep our eyes open, we're probably OK. I think the difference with the Conceal Carry and the SYG law is that we now realize that people who are NOT thugs or gangbangers are suddenly dangerous too. I don't blame people for being afraid. However I, for one, won't let fear of the thugs, gangbangers and conceal carriers rule me when I go to Orlando this week. It *might* stop me from flipping off some jerk who cuts me off .

As an Orlando resident, I am giving you the sideeye. You make it sound like I'm dodging bullets going to and from work every single day. I live in Windermere and work in Downtown Orlando, and it's just like every other city in the US.

Pshaw. They don't kill you - you wake up in a hotel tub, covered in ice, and with a fresh scar where your right kidney used to be. I know its true, because I read it on the internet somewhere. :thumbsup2

:lmao:

Pffft. Windermere is one of the worst places to live. I once heard about a crazy lady attacking a guy with a golf club there. And it's a terribly unsafe place if you're married to Bob Ward.

Oh, and we have a police department that isn't all "with it", too...

I think the chances of you being shot to death by someone is rare...

An incidental recording taken while a Florida woman was on the phone with her insurance company shows that the police who arrested her and charged her with a felony for resisting arrest lied in their reports, and then again under questioning

id be more scared of that...

But about the Florida shooting, i got one question to ask... IF your being tailed by some guy who you don't know, wouldn't it be the first thing to do is to CALL 911? and not your girlfriend???

I forgot about that guy and his pervy friend he was covering for. Let's not forget about the town manager and her excitable husband. And the Warlock cop. Upon reflection, I know too much about Windermere.

He received first aid in the back of a cop car. By the cops? I'm not sure. But since he claimed he was punched repeatedly, with his head slammed into the ground and his nose broken, funny there is zero evidence of that in the video taken when he was brought to the police station. :rolleyes1

And there doesn't seem to be any pictures of his so-called injuries, either. Isn't that the first (ok, maybe second) thing police do is take pictures of supposed injuries? You'd think Zimmerman would be running to the press with those pictures.

So where are they? :confused3

He was treated onsite by Sanford Fire Department. He refused transport to the hospital. Pictures would be evidence not subject to public records laws since this is an ongoing investigation.

Thanks for the info. I'll be curious to see if there were any pictures taken.

Perhaps you're a neighbor of mine? I guarantee you'd know exactly which house is ours if you know the town that well. ;)

To my understanding (and the interview with the girl online with the police) - she was on the phone with him when he noticed that someone was following him - according to the girl she was on the phone with him as he was walking and Trayvon said that he was going to walk really fast - not try to run, she told him to run fast, then the phone went dead. The police didn't even know that the boy was on the phone when he was being attacked by Zimmerman. His father found that out trying to find Trayvon that evening.

In addition to treating him for his broken nose and head laceration, they must have also gotten him a shower and change of clothes eh? Every broken nose I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot, left a lot of blood behing. On your shirt, your face, and dried up all over you. Head lacerations also bleed profusely, due to the tightness of the skin. Due to hippa they cannot release his records of health info, but you can bet your bottom dollar they will be subpeonad. He could also voluntarily release them, if he wanted to prove his injusried were documented. He uh, hasnt done that though has he. Hmmmmm.

No, I'm Carrot Top's neighbor. Y'all are just in the local news all the time.

My buddy lives on the house as you go onto Isle of Scillly. You must live next to Doc Rivers then. I'm over there all the time. The lady who co owns nascar is re doing a house next to my buddy. I live very close to there.
