Resale shopping again.. my heart wants one thing but my head says another. Give your opinions.

They've managed to create this FOMO where the passes are way more expensive and now there is way more people.

Is OKW basically just like SSR just without Disney Springs?
In some ways yes, in other ways very much not.

The "bones" of the resorts are similar: a collection of multi-story/multi-unit condo buildings. But the vibes are very different. SSR is quiet, reserved sophistication. OKW is more casual "island time." SSR is acorss the water to Springs, though OKW is (most of the year) a lovely boat ride away.

Pros for OKW: The villas are probably my favorite in the system---functional kitchen space, a decent range of seating options, and a balcony (ahem, veranda) large enough for a table that seats four comfortably, complete with ceiling fan. The kitchen has full-sized appliances, and the freezer includes an ice maker. (No ice maker is one of my pet peeves about many of the DVC villas.)

Pros for SSR: Works better for a "resort day"---IMO better pools, and much better CS options. I prefer walking the grounds of SSR; more the walking paths are internal to the resort rather than along roads. I find the internal bus loop at SSR less frustrating, as there are fewer dead ends/turn-arounds.

In the bus now, took 18 min to get here. So we are going to Lyft back and just stop for luggage on way to airport.
FYI if you Lyft back to MK they will drop you at TTC where you’ll have to boat or monorail over to the park entrance. Unless you get a Minnie Van Lyft. They’ll drop off near where the buses drop off.

Maybe you are going to Lyft back to WL. I just reread your message.

WDW is so huge…. it’s 18 min from Grand Cal to John Wayne airport right now….
That really puts things into perspective.

Thanks. We are just going to ask the driver to stop at WL real quick.

Popped into MK to buy a hat! Who am I?? This is amazing! Then we took a boat ride over to Ft, Wilderness. This place is super cute! I can just see all the families here hanging outside when the weather is better. We are gonna tour a cabin.
But Lakeshore Lodge 👀. I see you boo.

This reminds me of the time we were in the pool at CCV and my kiddo asked if we could make a quick trip to MK for dole whip…didn’t take much to convince me! Quick boat there and right back to poolside 🤣 I mean with APs, why not??!!

We have only been there in January so it was always pleasant for us. Haven't experienced crazy heat there. Or rain yet.

I haven't stayed at CCV. But over at BRV, it was very quiet both times we stayed there and definitely felt more 'lost in nature.' But there are CCV rooms that don't face the pool that would give that feel a bit more, I think.

that is so gross! We used the Keurig in our room on one day during our last trip because the coffee at Roaring Fork was broken, which made the lines for coffee at the counter insanely long. But typically, I don't use in-room coffee makers for this exact reason.
BTW, I must complement you on your photography skills here. Those are absolutely beautiful pictures.

It’s amazing they were able to build these beautiful resorts into a Florida swamp. I stumbled upon a YouTube channel that was discussing the history of WDW from a civil engineering perspective. It truly is a marvel.

Anyone know what this leads to? View attachment 968582
The staircase leads to the rooftop. Our family was chosen to be part of the flag raising ceremony one morning…back in 1999, and we went up those stairs. The floor below that (you can see part of the table) is the Old Faithful Club, which is the club level floor.

That is so cool ❤️
