My favorite is POFQ. We stayed there when it was Dixie Landings and Port Orleans for the first time. I absolutely love the decor at POFQ. Plus I love that it's so much smaller than all the other ones.

Though, if given the opportunity to stay at a Deluxe, I'll certainly take it ;) That's usually if I'm staying with my parents. If I'm paying, I'll stay at POFQ, with an AP discount! My next two trips down though I'm staying off site. We have a time share and then I'm staying at my parents place (yes, we stay at a time share even though they live 45 minutes away...don't ask...)

IMO, since POR and POFQ are so similar, I'll take the smaller of the two. Though I think POR is pretty too. Actually, I'll take any Disney resort ;)

hey, i'd stay as close to the parks as possible too! don't want to wake up and think, "darn...45 minutes....darn."

the other reason i really like riverside is that the restaurant is there. the food court is okay at fq, but i prefer the other side. and it is a llooooonggg walk.

Haha, yeah, we just laugh because my Dad isn't taking time off of work, he's just commuting from the Timeshare instead of home. :confused3

I'm not complaining, I'll still be in Florida and not where it snooooowwwssss :cold:

But we also have our share of whack jobs, who blow up abortion clinics or kill abortion doctors and jufges.
I belive all forms of religion can have their share of nut cases.
Indeed. I don't agree with abortion but I certainly don't agree with murdering those who perform them.

True. I think the difference lies in the widespread condemnation by Christians of such acts on behalf of their faith. One sees little of that from moderate Muslims.
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Half way down the 2nd page :(

On a totally unrelated note...my Eagles just won and we're going to the NFC Championship game! :jumping1:

My Vikings-loving son is not happy, and my Packers-loving son is not happy...but my Eagles-loving son is! Congrats!! (we live in a diverse house sports-wise :thumbsup2 )

My son made it home from Kodiak. I was cracking up...he said the pilot told them before the flight that the engine on the plane wouldn't stay running, but he'd had that trouble before, and he thought he could get it working again. Then he thought they'd have no trouble, as long as it would keep running. :scared1: I guess one of the kids on the basketball team is afraid of flying...I'm sure this was a long flight for him. Poor kid...

that'd be a long flight for anybody...i'd prefer they not actually tell us stuff like that.

i was on a non-stop flight to tokyo from california once...i was gonna be on that plane a long time anyway, but we were on the tarmack for 2.5 hours before taking off 'cause the door wouldn't close. ummmm...that seemed pretty critical to me. took three engineers to get the door closed. then i wondered, when we got to tokyo, if the door was going to open again.:scared1:

Who do you want to be the head of the RNC?

I would like to see Saul Anuzis as the head of the RNC. I like Michael Steel but if he's the head of the RNC, he won't be able to run for office and I would like to see him in the Senate or another high government position.

I'm doomed because I wanted Gingrich :guilty:

Other than that, I don't know enough about who's up for it. I know Steel is, but I agree with you ward - I'd rather see him run for office. But if that's not in the cards, then he needs to take the position.

We need someone aggressive who's not going to take any carp from anyone!

I may not be around for a few weeks. Today our pastor talked about a type of "fasting" as it were. Something that we can give up for the next 21 days.

I really don't think I have any other vices except this one so......

Unless y'all can think of something else I can give up? :hyper: popcorn::

I'd be off the plane for sure. I would not be on either of those planes. Either I'd find another flight that didn't have a plane with maintenance problems or I'd find another form of transportation home - even if it meant that I had to sail home from Japan!

Edited to add: I'm trying to start my trip report. I promise to post more pic's of my cake and grey goose slushy’s and school bread for you if you stick around to read. :flower3:

HOORAY!!! i love trip reports.

i've had pastries and other treats at norway, but i don't remember what school bread is.:confused3

Okay, guys, I'm out of computer range for a couple of days and y'all add forty pages?!?!?!!? Gee whiz!

To sum things up...to all you cons out there - sure, what you said...

To all you lib lurkers/occasional posters out there - sure, what they[the cons] said...

I'll catch up tomorrow...gotta go to bed now. I'll meet the guests tomorrow, when I'm a little more formally attired [like in my jammies that have the feet in them - I save those as Sunday best :teeth:]
:lmao:
As I said, we stayed at POFQ and really liked it, but last trip we stayed at Coronado Springs and…BAM! That place is so beautiful and so much more "resort-y." We fell in love with it. Now that they've gone to all queen sized beds — but it's still a moderate — that's going to be our preferred resort from now on.

I would think a job at a resort would be preferable for the parking situation, no? And to avoid the crowds. So you get to pick your location? Explain how it all works. popcorn::
We stayed at CSR in 1998 and loved it.:thumbsup2

Not exactly pick..... but I can email my CP recruiter and tell her and she makes a note of it.

What Wonder and Dolce both said.... don't go, Breezy!! We can't last 21 days with no food!! You'll come back and we'll all be shriveled up like raisins from starvation!:scared1: :lmao:

OOOOO!!!! Do you have a link to this TR yet?????;)

A sweet bread filled with vanilla custard. The traditional way has some sort of vanilla icing covered in coconut on top. Disney changed the top this year to put something brown (caramel?) and toasted coconut on top. I don’t know the specifics but on the food board there’s probably about 10 gazillion rant threads on the change that can fill you in on the details.

I’m trying to put up the first day tonight. It’s the pictures that are holding me up. Trying to re-size these take time. But hopefully I’ll have it started within the next couple of hours.

:rotfl: Ok, you just don't play fair do you?;)

I'm gonna have to think about it. The Dis does take up a lot of my time, and that's exactly what he was talking about.

Hmmmmm......maybe if I just limit my time to an hour or so in the evenings....but what else can I legitimately give up? I don't smoke. I don't drink. I don't eat much. hmmmm.....maybe I'll go to bed an hour earlier each night? :confused3 What do ya think, is that enough?

I liked wonderlanne's idea  But giving up Hussein inspired ice cream would be like a kid giving up brussel sprouts. :rotfl:

It would be like Communists giving up freedoms....

It would be like Pelosi giving up rational thought....

It would be like Hussein giving up church post election win...

:lmao: somebody stop me....

I agree...give up the ben and jerrys! :lmao: Or give up watching bho's daily press conferences. :rolleyes1

Not that I couldn't stand to lose some weight, but nobody here wants my cooking, breezy, so you can't leave.

Although if you do decide that this is what you're fasting from I'll pray for you. :flower3:
My idea? If you read alot for pleasure, instead of reading regular books, read the Bible instead when you read.

Just so long as you get on long enough to feed us, it'll be ok.:thumbsup2

I like Tink's idea about the Bible ALOT!:hippie:

oooohhhhhkay...sounds like i could eat about a dozen of those regardless of the topping. everything in that norway shop is so decadent.

i went on a dessert frenzy at epcot two years ago. i had lunch at the tangerine cafe (YUM) and it was pretty light, so i walked to the coffee bar in back and got this most magnificent layered cakey creamy item with apricots. as i was walking along, thinking about how nice and light even the dessert was, i stumbled upon the kiosk in italy and had an eat-as-you-go tiramisu. then by the time i got to norway, i was just FAMISHED and had a treat there too. i felt no guilt whatsoever 'cause of all the walking i was doing.

update: found the recipe! http://www.grouprecipes.com/52808/disneys-norway-school-bread.html

If I'm going to bring up the subject of my pending TR...then I need to address a problem: I have nooooooooooooo idea what to name the thing. I hate naming things! I'm like that with the subject lines of e-mail's also - I hate naming things.
