DL Blue Bayou Monte Cristo, anyone?

I had that at Disneyland last year... never again. Just too much friedness. I couldn't barley eat any of it before I began to fill ill. It's good, sure, but so fried.

I love stuff I can wrap in lettuce. Years ago my sister worked in this funky little Chinese restaurant in an old A&W building in Tacoma, and the lady there made the most unbelievable spring rolls. She was Chinese, but raised in Vietnam, so had this fusion thing going on. The spring rolls had a single whole shrimp in one end, and she served them with lettuce to wrap around them and nak mam sauce (which is among the worst smelling things in the world, but the trick is to eat it cold...while you can't smell it ) My sister took me down there years ago when I was (ahem...) hung over. I thought I was going to die. I swear those things cured me, and I was hooked forever. They are sooooo good. My friend Pete and I used to drive over there and buy dozens of frozen ones from her, and she would give us the sauce in big styrofoam coffee cups. Sadly that restaurant isn't there anymore, and I've never found spring rolls that even came close anywhere else. Lettuce wraps are my poor substitute.

All chinese food is my weakness. That and this...

My good friend, Robbie's surrogate grandma, and fellow Disney Ho Jill used to be vegan. She fed us spaghetti with fake meat (we call it feat) and we had the worst gas we'd ever had. Our bedroom smelled like one of the those cow ranches on I-5.

It's a good thing my DS is here to "share" my drink with me. LOL I don't know how I ever managed to have a whole drink to myself before he came along.

And the restaurant is right on, and I mean ON the beach.

oooohhhh! i LOVE bengal barbeque!!! my favorite used to be the beef skewer with the super duper hot sauce (for which i have the recipe!). there has been talk for a long time of closing bengal in an effort to open up that space, which is incredibly crowded now. i sure hope they never do that.

Wow, since when did this become the obesity promotion thread. All this amazing food....what am I going to do now that I'm back at the mercy of my college caf?

Anyway, I just finished moving back home from my parents' house. It's been a long day to say the least. Classes start again tomorrow for my last semester as an undergrad.

I can't stand fake meat. I am very much a carnivore. This only reinforces my stance.
