Heading down to Wdw on memorial day from a hotel in Savannah, and we normally take 95 then I4W. The construction website is confusing to me and I was wondering how it will affect traffic headed to disney from I4W? Can someone explain? Thank you! So excited to be going back to the fort again!

Hi! You should be fine just using I4 - minus traffic, its still the best direct route to get to Disney from Savannah! :)

There are some other routes to get from I-95 to I-75 in the northern part of the state or to cut across to the Florida turn pike, but you would be in the middle of no-where and I do not think it will save you any time. I-4 is the best route, especially if you are pulling a camper or in an RV.

We traveled that direction earlier this year and had no problems with the construction and exiting for Disney. The signs are very clear, but would advise, if possible, traveling through Orlando during off peak hours, and also not week ends - makes it easier with less traffic.

Hi ForeverAlice. We travelled that route on Sunday the 17th and arrived at the Fort around 9:30 am. We had an easy ride without any slow downs.

I live in Orlando and highly recommend the Waze app. It tracks driver data in real time and routes you accordingly. It does eat up your battery, so be prepared.

Barring accidents and high volumes of traffic (just like any other interstate), though, I4 should be OK on a holiday.

1) The route is the same.
2) Just fill up the gas tank, as I-4 frequently turns into a parking lot.
3) YES, it truly is that bad.

The plan is to leave Savannah
at 6am on Memorial Day -do you think that will help or should we leave to head down to FW earlier?

You will hit a lot of construction - lane juggling in Daytona Beach where you get onto I4 from 95. Just pay really good attention to the signs. I live in that area & the changes are crazy because people merge onto 95 southbound in the same area as people are moving over to exit onto 4.
