Confused by NWA web-site

Am I doing something wrong, or is this truly how the airlines list flights?

I am looking for airfare in October. NWA has decent rates from my home airport, so I pulled up their web-site. But something strange happens. When I put in dates for round trip tickets, only 2 or 3 options pop up. If I put in the same dates but for one way tickets, a ton more choices appear. Is this normal, or am I missing something?

I have never purchased one way tickets before, is there anything I need to know before I decide to go that route?

No, that's normal for the NWA site.

I always check prices elsewhere and make sure I know the flight numbers I want. Sometimes, the NWA site does not give me the options I want, even if the price is lower or the same as the choices it offers.

Make sure the price and flights are exactly as you expected before you press the final submit button.

I had the same thing happen with NWA. Go into the Delta site and put in your information and you may get more options since they are merging with NWA they list both.
