Confirmed: “Paint the Night” Scheduled to close Sept 5th

I thought I had read somewhere that the PTN parade was coming back briefly in November then would be gone again until summer. I just wish I could remember where/when I had seen that note. I'm thinking it was something to the effect that it would be back that very short portion of time between Halloween and Christmas. I could be way wrong though!

But that is what they teach in business school. Don't advertise the new product until you've sold out of the old. They want people squeezing in that last trip (or two or three) between now and Labor Day to see the parade. I can say if we were still living in L.A. and still had AP's, we would probably get two or three separate days in. Instead , we have to settle for a trip to WDW (we would much rather be at DL).

If PTN is returning in November, then that means it'll probably be rolled into the "Holidays at the Disneyland Resort" season (dates not announced yet), which means we may not see an official announcement until after Halloween Time ends.

First, that might work for widgets you put on a shelf for people to buy. Trips are a different matter, with people often planning months in advance.

And there is no way they will wait until after Halloween Time is over to make an announcement over since Holiday Time starts just a couple weeks later. More than likely there will be an announcement sometime in September.

I'm still skeptical of them rolling it right back out again for the holiday season though. That would be a fairly short absence.

So here's my completely conspiratorial, based on nothing working hypothesis:

It makes no sense to take PTN away 9/5 then bring it back in 2 months for the holiday season. I mean, holiday time also brings back the Christmas parade. I thought offering both PTN and the Christmas parade was over the top generous. They really don't seem to be in an over the top generous mode right now.

Maybe this is the year they carve out a Christmas party and offer Christmas parade and fireworks only on party nights, but bring back PTN for non party nights as a give back?
