Confirmed: “Paint the Night” Scheduled to close Sept 5th

Now I'm wondering if I'll need to plan more time to try and find a good spot when I go? I'll be going on a solo trip on week days at the end of this month. I was planning on PtN Tuesday and Thursday, and WOC on Wednesday. I was going to plan on later showings of PtN, after the fireworks. Hoping for a FP for WOC? Now I'm worried that if I don't become one of those curb campers it'll be so crowded because everyone will be trying to see it before it ends.

There is plenty of good viewing for PTN from the 2nd row, especially for the 2nd parade. We've never camped out for a curb seat and have always had great views. Depending on how crowded the park is on the day you view, cruise the parade route at least 30 minutes (more if the park is very crowded) before it starts. As a solo traveler, you really shouldn't have any trouble finding a good spot behind the curb.

I'm so sad PTN is leaving. Even more upset that I spent $40 buying those paint brushes that light up with the parade and now they will be useless... I'm a sucker for those gimmicks!

As stated above, the ears and paintbrushes work with other nighttime shows, so hang on to them. They'll come in handy on a future trip!

I'm thinking I made the right choice for booking WOC dessert party for my trip end of Sept. I feel like WOC will be way more crowded now that there will be no PTN. Do you think now that they finally made this official they will post the Sept schedule/hours?

Well we did know this was for the 60th Anniv so I am ready for the next new thing. Will miss it.

If there's a second show, do the second show. Sit near the Fire Station, as the parade will start around there and when the last float goes by you can make a quick exit.

I think you can sit after fireworks and be in a good spot. People will start to leave and it's less stressful.

Is anyone else scrambling to try and put together a trip this month? I've never seen PTN or Forever fireworks...I'm so broken hearted. I'm pricing out a solo trip for 1 day lol

I suppose its too much to hope for, them to bring back the Mainstreet Electrical parade! I am guessing they will put out a cheapo parade,,,,,,,,, then roll out a really BIG one for the oepening of Star Wars Land.... Booooo Disney! First TOT , now this!

I'm shocked. Rumor mill thinks it is going to WDW. I agree with parkhopper 1. I think the only way they are ending this particular parade at DL is if they are shipping it somewhere else. They made too big of an investment into that parade. It is the best parade Disney has ever done and one of the only ones that DH and DD will watch multiple times without complaining. Of course, in Disney's current cost cutting mode if it is horribly expensive to run every night...

Hey, maybe they'll swap it and we'll get the Festival of Fantasy parade from MK. While I am bummed to miss PtN, Festival of Fantasy was *gorgeous* and I'd love to see that dragon again!

I doubt WDW will send their daytime parade in exchange for DLR's nighttime parade. If anything at all, it'll likely get swapped for MSEP.

Yep! Putting together a 3 day trip for 5 for this weekend. Fastest I've ever had to plan a trip! I was originally planning on maybe going in early November for PTN and to get one last ToT fix.

I really wish I could! It is soooo not in the budget though. I'm still trying to collect enough "freeish" gift cards to pay for my Oct trip!

I'm shocked I really thought this would stay long term (we in Disney Style until the next big anniversary) not running nightly but over weekends like F! And the fireworks do during off peak.
Really glad we made a one night DL stop on the way to WDW last year to see it, it was a Halloween party though do didn't get to see DF!

Totally bummed our first trip to DL isn't until the end of October so we will miss PTN altogether.

I'm so disappointed that I never got to see it! After two DL trips we decided to change things up this year and take our first family trip to WDW. I thought for sure we would be able to see PTN when we head back to DL in 2017. I can't imagine they would invest all that time and money into PTN and just scrap it now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's headed to WDW or DL will bring it back sometime next year.

We missed the fireworks our last trip at the end of June, but we did get APs. We're going to San Diego over Labor Day weekend, and I convinced my husband to make a detour through Anaheim on the way there on Friday, just to see the parade and fireworks one last time. I'm sure it'll be crazy-crowded, but we're only going for that. Thank goodness we got the APs - no way we'd have shelled out for one-day tickets just for that.

Finally a parade I could get my son to sit through, and it won't be going on when we arrive in November. I'm so bummed!

That would be terrible. They had MSEP at WDW on my last trip in 2012. While I'm sure this was a cool show back in the 80s, it's just not that impressive any more. When it replaced Spectromagic, tons of people were upset, including me. PtN actually draws a little from MSEP, so why would we want the original back? Hoping this doesn't happen. But it would be a parade that would suck up lots of people and allow us to do more rides.

I would not be happy with that swap either. MSEP is old hat to us. I really wanted to see PTN again. I just wish they would let people know what they are planning so I can make plans.
