So excited, just booked AKV-CL for 6/4-11, 2011. :goodvibes

Have lurked on this thread since our Oct 08 CL trip and always hoped we might get to stay CL again. Well, we had to cancel our Thanksgiving trip and will be celebrating oldest DDs graduation in 2011 so DH splurged and used a lot of points to get us CL! :lovestruc

Woo hoo! I was just able to upgrade the second part of our December trip to club level with the room only discount. I've been checking daily for weeks, and I finally got it! Now we are staying at CR MK view for the first half and YC CL for the second half! So excited...first time ever in a deluxe resort, first club level, and first time at Disney during the holidays :cool1:

Thanks to everyone on here for all the information on CL! I have read a good portion of this thread and learned alot.

I'm back on the boards again seriously considering booking Beach Club CL for pre-Xmas. DH is surprisingly supportive but says he will be bummed if the weather is cold. Not much we can do about that! If we do go, it will basically be our 3rd annual trip (1st time, we told the kids about the trip in December but went in early January, then in 2009 we surprised them on the drive down). I think 3 times in a row will seal the tradition and we will simply have to keep going for a few more years! I am getting excited about staying at the Beach Club for a chance to spend more time at Epcot and DHS for a change and to explore the Boardwalk area which we really never have done. I am realizing that the great thing about repeat trips to Disney is the opportunity to dig deeper into all Disney has to offer!

For the CL experts here:

I just booked a short stay at CL CS in February. This is only our second CL stay. Our first time, I didn't know what to expect...this second time, I still don't know what I'm supposed to expect (if anything at all). Honestly, I wasn't impressed with CL the first time - they made a reservation for me for Chef Mickey but that was it - granted, this was one of the worst trips ever (items stolen out of our luggage at MCO?, husband's grandmother passed away the first night we were there so we had to come home early, etc). But anyway, as someone who is staying at CL, am I supposed to expect anything extra? Someone greeting me at the door? Access to a seperate check-in area (last time we just checked in at the front desk down stairs)? An email asking if I need anything? I'm really just curious - I was going to read the whole thread but it's a bit long :upsidedow

Thanks in advance for the guidance :wizard:

Just back last night from a 6 day trip, staying at Poly Club Level!
Everything was great! We had a theme park view. I had requested a ground floor room, but we ended up getting a 2nd floor. It was right next to the lounge, room 2501. At first I was a little disappointed, but it was perfect for us! It was like having our own private lounge. Being right next door, it was so easy to get our food, drinks, coffee and just run right back to the room. It might have been a little too easy to get the spiked punch! LOL
There was no issue with noise, even though we were right next door!
The staff was awesome! Lawrence checked us in. He couldn't have been nicer. He gave us our KTTW keys, explained everything to us about the lounge, gave us our birthday buttons, leis, and gave my DS a sandpail and shovel to play on the beach.
Then we opened our door----BAM! It was absolutely breathtaking! Very clean and well stocked with towels, toiletries, etc. There was a beautiful towel animal waiting for my DS. Awesome!
We had a mousekeeper that was probably one of the nicest human beings I've ever met. Her name was Pham. She did so many extra things for us during our trip. She made things even more magical!
If anyone has any questions or comments, fire away! If you have an upcoming trip to the Poly CL, you WILL NOT be disappointed! :cloud9:

Hey fellow Tiger Fan! Maybe I can answer.

Here is a link off DIS dining under dining on the front page. Go there and you can search and look any way you like. Take a look at the search restaurants and you can filter by dining plan. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I will check out the list and filter it so we can find some that are not on the DP. I just saw they are doing free dining for a year. Oh boy....sounds like I better make some reservations ASAP!

Glad to know another Tiger Fan is on the dis boards! We love our Tigers!!

Since the Deluxe Club Level Rooms at the Boardwalk are located on the 3rd and 4th floors I was wondering if it's the same thing for their Standard Club Level Rooms? This way if we happen to get a room on the 3rd floor it's only going up one floor when using stairs when going to the lounge on the 4th floor.

I was under the impression that all standard CL rooms were on the 4th floor.

Be sure to request "not behind ESPN". That is a long walk from elevators.

Last month our Deluxe Room was right over the Bakery and was close to the ESPN Club and personally the walk from the elevators wasn't that bad once we got use to how their hallways worked.

We check in to the CR Cl on Tuesday. I think we will get there in time for desserts and cordials. Can anyone tell me what kind of yummy goodies we can expect?!

Right over the bakery is not the same as behind the ESPN Club. In July we were in a standard room right next to the deluxe rooms-closer to ESPN than the deluxe rooms and it was great but the first room I was assigned in May was behind the ESPN Club and was about twice as far from the elevator and a lovely view of the electric boxes and a road. I was afraid we would hear noise from the ESPN Club as we were directly behind it but we didn't but I was woken up from the traffic on the road. I guess the good thing was we could actually see both illuminations and MK fireworks from that room.

They usually have different itmes each night so here is an example of some items you will see on different days. Cannolis, Cookies, Peanut Brittle, Rice Krispy Squares, various little Cakes, and etc.

Well with our room each morning we were always woken up by some noise we heard on the Boardwalk that sounded like a screeching sound, which we could never figure out where it was coming from.

The Standard CL rooms are all on the 4th floor. I agree with not being by the ESPN Club. It's a very long walk down that hallway. :goodvibes

Then you probably don't want to be behind the ESPN because nothing woke me in our BW view room.

Could it have been the horns from the Friendship boats? I could hear those but the boats don't start running until 8am and we were always up before that. That road noise from ESPN was very early!

Glad you had a great trip! I was in that room on my first Poly CL trip in Oct 2002. It was great because I was 6 months pregnant with my 3rd child. My oldest was 3 1/2 and it was her first trip. It was a very magical trip!

Booked 5 nights at Beach Club CL Lagoon View 12/18-12/23!!!!
The room only discount works for CL but the availability at Beach Club seemed to be going down over the last few days as I checked it. Standard and garden view CL were disappearing. If they show back up, I may change if I can as the cost is high even with the discount, especially compared to last year when we stayed at WL CL on exactly the same dates.

Now let's see how long it takes for the IPO to contact me. I usually do a combo of my own ADR + help from the IPO. We arrive on our 17th anniversary and DH said he wanted to try V&A this trip so I am hopeful we can get in. Also hoping to do a Fantasmic package since we haven't seen it yet and considering MVMCP for 12/19. Crowd calendar looks surprisingly good until Wed 12/22 but they were quite wrong last year so who knows...
