Booked 5 nights at Boardwalk CL Lagoon View 12/18-12/23!!!!
The room only discount works for CL but the availability at BW seemed to be going down over the last few days as I checked it. Standard and garden view CL were disappearing. If they show back up, I may change if I can as the cost is high even with the discount, especially compared to last year when we stayed at WL CL on exactly the same dates.

Now let's see how long it takes for the IPO to contact me. I usually do a combo of my own ADR + help from the IPO. We arrive on our 17th anniversary and DH said he wanted to try V&A this trip so I am hopeful we can get in. Also hoping to do a Fantasmic package since we haven't seen it yet and considering MVMCP for 12/19. Crowd calendar looks surprisingly good until Wed 12/22 but they were quite wrong last year so who knows...

BW CL is wonderful, congratulations :)

Can I just ask though, I wasn't aware the BWI CL were categorizing their CL rooms the same as the BC and YC (i.e. standard/garden/lagoon), I tried to book the other day for next year but it still only shows standard CL (i.e. non boardwalk view), deluxe (i.e. boardwalk) and garden suites - has this just changed?

Clare, it is still early but I can't believe I typed the wrong resort. We are staying at Beach Club not Boardwalk! I had been going back and forth for days on it and keep mixing up words. I already corrected it for those who read this and have no idea what we are talking about!

LOL - I was getting all excited thinking finally there was a way of guaranteeing a boardwalk view CL room without going for the deluxe category :goodvibes

I've also gone for the BC LV CL so would be interested to know what you think afterwards.

I would not wait for IPO to contact you. I would email or call them today and see if they can get V&A or Fantasmic package for you.

Here's my thought on MVMCP-I went once on a sold out night. It was so crowded you couldn't move. I will now always wait until I'm at WDW before buying tickets. Then I can see what the weather forecast is and if it is sold out I know I don't want to go anyways. I would buy the day before the party and still get the prepurchase price.

For the CL experts here:

I just booked a short stay at CL CS in February. This is only our second CL stay. Our first time, I didn't know what to expect...this second time, I still don't know what I'm supposed to expect (if anything at all).

Thanks in advance for the guidance :wizard:

What resort are you staying CL at? :)

Good points on all counts. From what I have been reading, I don't think I can justify the extra $ on the MVMCP. We might try Monday 12/20 as our late night at MK instead- EMH until 1am. We have never done EMH but I think the kids (DD11 and DS7) would love getting to stay up super late this time.

I usually do contact IPO myself but I will have to wait til tomorrow as I'm off to the Panthers-Bucs game this afternoon and have to figure out a bit more of what I want before I speak to them. I feel a bit guilty about putting the kids in the kids club while we eat at V&A but then again- they would have a sitter at home if we went out, and its Disney!

I've never used the kids club but from what I've read I have never heard of a kid who didn't love it.:thumbsup2

After looking just about every day since the discounts were released finally found monorail club level availability for our dates in December. Yippie! Now, I've just got to choose between Grand Floridan (Sugarloaf) or the Polynesian. (Contemporary not available.)

I even made a pro-con list and still can't decide. One minute I'll think Polynesian for sure and the next it's definitely the Grand. It's our family's first trip to ANY Disney resort, and my son's first trip to the parks. He is a very active (non-napping) preschool who is beyond excited about two things: the monorail and the fireworks, in that order. This trip is all about our son (can't wait to see him at Disney!), but husband and I enjoy a bit of luxury on vacation and some nice dinners out. As we're warm-blooded Southerners with our own backyard pool, swimming probably won't be a factor (December trip), barring extraordinary weather. We will have a rental car, if needed. Advice on property and club level perks much appreciated.

Then you probably don't want to be behind the ESPN because nothing woke me in our BW view room.

Could it have been the horns from the Friendship boats? I could hear those but the boats don't start running until 8am and we were always up before that. That road noise from ESPN was very early!
It wasn't the horns from the boats.

Their Club Level Room categories are Standard Room Club Level and the Deluxe Room, which is their only Club Level room that gives you a guaranteed view of the Boardwalk.

We stayed at the GF last time, but not at club level. And in a week we'll be club level at the Poly. I would think that the biggest difference between the two is more restaurants at the GF so if you like that, then that might be your best bet.

I've never stayed at GF but love the convenience of the Poly location. You can walk to TTC from Poly to get the Epcot monorail. I don't think GF offers bus service to Epcot so you have to take the monorail around to TTC to get to Epcot monorail. I know that would frustrate me going to Epcot early in the morning.

I have stayed Club Level at the Polynesian and thought it was nice and the Hawaii Longhouse had a good location to the GCH, so it wasn't a far walk and it was great having the walkway to the TTC. However two things the Polynesian does not have is a hot tub located by their pool or a GYM to work out at if that's something you like to do, which are two things the Grand Floridian has available for their guests.

I waited to long to get chef mickeys for our vacation I tried to get a breakfast for a party of 5 anytime during our trip on line and it was a no go, is their any chance IPO can get that for me since I'm staying CL or is it just a fantasy :confused3

Wouldn't hurt to ask the IPO but my understanding is that they do not have any special spots for club level guests. I would not give up yet! I didn't book last year's trip (Dec 18) until about a month ahead and with persistence got all the ADRs we wanted. You have to be pretty obsessive about checking the online system several times daily and also check the thread for people that are cancelling their ADRs. Good luck!!

Is their a thread that people post their canceled ADRs I will have to look that up while keeping my fingers crossed
