Come over - A Perfectly Pompous TR (Updated: Boarding pass from the pool please!)

OK..I may be finguring things out, but then again probably not. SO...Jean is still a friend but not a partner..is that why she was on the recent trip?

Yes, Jean is still a good friend. And we own our points together.

Loved reading your report Lisa! Great pictures too. You have inspired me to take pictures of the little things on my next trip!

Thank you so much, Lexxiefern. I notice you're going to Vero Beach in 7 months - lucky you! Can't wait to see the pictures.

In fact, your signature is almost killing me. BW AND Vero Beach trips. Lovely.

Have fun.

Trip report. Back on.

Here we go -

The next two days - forecast - gorgeous days. Low and mid seventies - straight sun. Earlier in the week it had been - hmmm - so so. These last two days of the vacation were glorious.

And we - me and my ex :lmao:;) - were off to POR. We had to get there. I try to go most trips but I don't think I've been the last few. I ADORE it. We stayed there about ten years ago and had a wonderful time. I've sent others there. Another Disney got it right resort. SO RIGHT.

I'm a little wiped. I think I'm just going to let the pictures talk for now.

Up next: The rest of this glorious day and the Hitchcock birds.

Love the TR. Really love the Dixie Landings pictures. Thanks, I needed that!:goodvibes

Hey Lisaviolet - your pictures are glorious!
Can you tell me what type of camera you were using?
Thanks,
Kim

I have decided next time you do a TR yours will need to start out with a diagram and a full discussion of all the players

I have finally gotten it all straight in my head, but as a result other things have rattled loose :rotfl:

fantasic pics, love the fountain one

Thanks Muushka. :lovestruc

Thanks Kim. :goodvibes

It's a point and shoot Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS. I bought it at Sam's Club last year for peanuts. They were getting rid of it. You know why I chose it?

Because of the features? The zoom?

Nope.

Because it's big!

I knew I would lose a small point and shoot.

It generally has good reviews but two things to watch. One it eats the battery in record time - I just got a rechargable. And night shots have noise. I just learned what that means today. :goodvibes It's why my night shots are just okay.

But I like it. It's simple. I like simple.

I like the fountain too. It's peaceful. Thanks.

No need to rattle or any maps. :confused3 Since I've now taken the time to explain it's no longer all that complicated.

It's just a separated couple - who still adore each other - who lovingly brought on or shared their vacation with both sides of the family.

Who the heck needs maps for that?

Again, both families as we've done many times.

And I would have just said my ex and said nothing more to you but there might be some fabulous man secretly reading my TR and crosses me off. :lmao:;)

So I'm going to simply try to shut my mouth at this point. popcorn::

Okay back to Dixie Lovely Landings!

Dixie Landings now known as POR.

Glorious. It was a glorious time. Just did nothing. I roamed the resort with my camera. Walked everywhere. Sat and took it all in.

Jean watched NCAA inside in the bar. :rotfl2: March Madness.

And the birds. The beautiful birds. :scared1:

100_5499.jpg

These pictures. This is how I took them. Ready? One hand on my camera. One hand on my tray with my food. Holding the tray like a waiter away from Huey, Duey and Louie. My Lord. If you saw what goes on behind some of these pictures.

They would come in a group and then one might scare off another but they would come CLOSER and CLOSER and CLOSER......

It's like if I took pictures I could keep them at bay. :3dglasses

We spent HOURs there. I so adore it. Food court is pretty good. They have make your salads and make your own pasta and pretty wicked chocolate cake.

But the grounds - oh the grounds - I wish I could have a second home there.

We got a text! :rotfl2:

They - two nephews and their parents - were at MGM/HS and wanted to meet us.

So they came over and we all went off on this glorious boat to DD. Heaven.

I made it over to POR for the very first time on our last trip, and it IS absolutely beautiful! We were just in awe, wondering how we never knew that beautiful resort was there, in all our years of going to Disney??? We also stopped at POFQ, but agreed that we liked POR better. Next time we want to save on points for a Sat night, we want to stay there! Beautiful pics!
Thanks for explaining your confusing travel companion situation! I thought I might be the only one that wasn't really following.
One more confusing point...did you really not have any park passes for this vacation? Will this be a park-free TR? :confused3

You SO need date night. :lmao:;):lovestruc

True 'dat, Sista!

DH and I only have one kiddo so it makes it super easy to just bring her along when we want to go out instead of paying a sitter a small fortune so we can do date nights - - they are definitely a lost art in the Crystal_27 household. I think it's been about a year since DH and I went out solo (unless you count our DCL excursions and Palo meals...?). :upsidedow :rotfl:

And, for what it's worth, I'm sure that your Mr. Right is out there searching for you. Until then, at least you have a super awesome friend to share your wonderful Disney trips with.

:worship: See, that's the type of dedication I'm talking about! The lengths you will go to for our entertainment. :grouphug:

Thanks for the Dixie Landings pics!

We just checked the AP rates for values and mods for our July trip. Dh and I were thrilled that we could get POR or POFQ for approx. $150/nt. for July 3rd, before our stay at BCV.

I told sis and bil...They want to stay at a value resort because its $110 instead. :sad1::sad1::sad1: I know, I know...we're getting there late...I know, I know...its just one night...I know, I know...$40 is $40.

Venting now...we are going to BC because THEY like to swim...Why can't we go to Port Orleans?

I would rather snag an off-site deal for just one night than stay in a value resort again! Or spend the $40 to stay at PO. I know values work for a lot of people, but to us it was just a themed Motel 6. So noisy til the wee hours, we did not end up sleeping much!

I see your relationship as no different than my parents traveling together (dad with stepmom and often mom with her partner). They were married 20+ years and things just didn't work but with all that history - and family shared - sometimes it is easier to be friends...

Although I have done a map to help others with our situation!!:lmao:

I told you my goal is to do a TR as fun as yours....with a family like mine - in 12 days we will see if I can pull it off...if you are lucky I will fine some light fixture crack to get you off of the chocolate....as an addict myself....it is not so easy....chocolate covered cherries are my fav:cloud9:!!!

Okay, don't think I didn't notice that you put big ol' laugh icon against my losing an entire installment Nancy. popcorn:: ;) Don't think I didn't notice. :lovestruc

:lmao: Of course you know why. I have a love-hate relationship with technology. To be exact, it loves to hate me :lmao:

Is it wrong that all I went after reading this is into major vanity issues - as in OMG - how old do I look these days?

To be Jean's mother.:lmao:

:eek::lmao: OMG no.

HAH! And you said that you've told me too many times what it was, that you weren't telling me again. (in her motherly "how many times must I tell you voice" :rotfl2:)

Yes - that camera IS amazing. But - so is Lisa's artistic eye and appreciation for all things beautiful. Like I would never think to balance my food with one hand whilst I leaned over and took pictures of a bird. I'd be too busy shooing the bird away for fear that it would try to steal my beloved french fries :rolleyes1

OK, I'm feeling a bit left out on the lighting fixture thing so I wanted to put in my 2 cents - does anybody know where the last light fixture is from?

Disney Wonder - it's a Dale Chihuly design. His work is amazing!

David, I love that tea cup pic. My assignment for next visit!

Great lighting pics!
