How does this work? For example, say I want to pay cash for a Saturday night and then book with points for the rest of my trip staying at the same place. Do you book all through MS or do you do it separately? Also, will you get to keep the same room or have to move? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Where can I find the prices of a 2BR at BCV for a weekend night?

If you book everything thru MS, they will link it all together. If booked thru MS and CRO/WDTC it's possible you might have to move, but they are often able to let you keep the same room for both reservations.

Rates can be found on the DVC Member's Site. Remember that those are rack rates and you may be able to find better rates available. Remember also that, at times, a 25% member's discount is available thru MS. Even if it's not available the first day you call, it may become available later.

Good Luck!

I did this in May. We did Fri & Sat cash through member services (25% off), then points Sun-Thurs nights. Since it was all through DVC, it was treated as one reservation. We did not have to check-out/check-in on Sunday. Fri & Sat counted as days 1 & 2 for housekeeping, so we got T&T on Monday. If you reserve through CRO, you will get full housekeeping on the cash nights but you will have to check-out/check-in when switching to points and there's no guarantee about keeping the same room.

I was going to do this in July but found out that if I wanted to stay in the same room and have a 2 bedroom with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom, I could not pay cash. So I would have to have 2 girls sleep on a sofa sleeper for 10 days and I wasn't about to do that. So I ended up borrowing next years points and using the points so I could stay in the 2 bed villa for the duration. Now some people may have been lucky enough to get the same room with 2 beds but it is the chance you will take. That is the only problem with paying for one or two nights. Mine was right in the middle of our stay so i really didn't want to move twice in the same hotel. Now if you are doing the first night on cash and don't mind moving the second day, most of the time you aren't totally unpacked by then, then I would say go for it. But if it was in the middle of your stay I would not recommend it. Good luck.
