I did think this thread was for smokers to comment on DSA's and I do think the Top floor would be a good location! I also wish in the parks the DSA's were signed the way restrooms are, it sure would help!!
Sorry if this is OT, but how are the DSAs in the parks signed? Thanks!
Your best bet is to look for the trash cans with the box o' sand on top (for use as an ash tray). That's the only sure sign you're in a DSA.![]()
IMO at whatever park you ae, just grab a map and the DSA's are shown.
I found most of them easily, except for one at AK.
Epcot was the worst with "missing" DSA's, there were at least 4 that weren't there![]()
I was actually very frustrated last week while down there because the DSA'
s weren't where they were supposed to be or where they had been previously. We've been so many times that DH and I can walk to the DSA's in our sleep but last week we would get to one, but there was no trash can, no ash tray. We thought maybe they moved it, so we looked all around and then grabbed a park map that should it exactly where we "knew" it was (but wasn't) Very frustrating! I am very happy to play by the rules, but if Disney wants people to only smoke in DSA's, then they need to be there. Really! Which ones?
At Epcot:
-the one near the Test Track exit
-hidden one by Mission Space
-one between the Land and the Seas with Nemo
-one across from restrooms behind Innoventions West
There were no trash cans, no ashtrays at any of these locations but they're all still listed on the map.

I agree! I had posted earlier in the thread (after I got back in mid-May) that at least two weren't there. I checked on the map as well. I actually had to ask a CM somewhere between Africa & Asia, and the one he directed me to was behind a set of restrooms. You couldn't see it until you actually got around behind the building. I'll bet I spent an extra 30 minutes walking around looking for DSAs that were on the map. I guess they haven't changed the maps since I was there![]()

Epcot has also lost the DSA behind England in the garden area. AK has lost two , one between Asia & Africa in a nice shaded area. The other outside of Flame Tree, next to some shop before the bridge. These were not relocated just removed. This is as of this week.
they have been removed, no longer there. We did not check the maps, as we are pretty familiar with most of the DSA.
First of all, let me state that I have never smoked, but married a guy who likes to smoke a few cigars a day and has always been very considerate of other people. On all of our previous trips we never asked for a smoking room because my husband didn't want to bother anyone so he would only smoke on the balcony of our room and never in the parks, etc.
At OKW, he spent the first few days getting grouchier and grouchier because he didn't like smoking so close to the paths where everyone walks. Finally, he tried the DSA in front of our building but never really felt comfortable.
When we moved to FW cabins I told DH that he could smoke on the deck, but he wanted me to check with the front desk. I had called the resort previously as well as searching Disboards to verify the information, but to make him feel better I called anyway. After calling the "front desk" and getting the run around, I finally went to the real front desk where the concierge told me that of course DH could smoke on the porch as long as smoke didn't get into the room.
I think that the DSAs are so far from some of the cabins that the resort lets people smoke there until a DSA can be built closer by.
I honestly wish that WDW would designate a building or section at each resort where smokers could smoke on the balconies only. I would like to start a petition to send to WDW but have no idea how to do it.
