Think I was "upgraded" from woods view to courtyard view today. Maybe due to the rooms out of inventory where the scaffolding is? Very, very loud during the pool party. Thankfully DD2 is napping through it. Unfortunately, I cannot.

We didn't mind the "noise" at all. My husband slept through the pool party one day when he decided to nap. But I guess it depends on your preference. I liked it!

Wow the crowds have cleared out!!! We were there 2 weeks ago and there were 3 or 4x that many people in the pool. Next year - Labor Day!

Sorry about the noise. I don't care for it either but the kids loved it.

How are the crowds around Labor Day? My son doesn't start school until the Monday after Labor Day and thought maybe that would be a good time to go - hoping we get a good BB offer!! Or would second week in June be better?

Hello everyone

We are planning a vacation to here from the U.K. October 2015 and have a few questions.

We are going to book a woods room but was wondering if people have been upgraded free at this hotel? Or can we upgrade when we get there if we want to as for some reason with the company we are going with can only get woods view at the moment. Can you upgrade to club level and if so what is the difference in price? Is it a lot?

Do they have laundry facilities ??

Are the boats easy to use? How about buses between parks etc.

What are your views on the on site restaurants?

I think that free upgrades from standard to woods view and from woods view to courtyard are fairly common, since there are so many more courtyard view rooms than the other two types. A courtyard view room costs about $10 more per night than a woods view, and a club level room costs about $75 to $100 more per night, but that will vary by season. I don't know if you'll be able to upgrade your room type upon arrival. :confused3

Yes, there are laundry facilities located near the elevators and Roaring Forks.

The boats are very easy to use, coming about every twenty minutes. There is one boat that is direct to MK and another boat that travels between the WL, the Contemporary and Fort Wilderness. We really like using the boats. :)

The bus to MK takes about five minutes and is very convenient. The buses to the other parks is a little less convenient since they share with other resorts. But WL is the first stop on the way back from the parks.

Do you happen to know how early the boats start on EMH? We plan on doing that our 1st MK day and want to arrive at park by 7:30 AM. thanks.

The boat to MK starts running about 1/2 before park opening. But be there early because I've noticed that the lines can be long for the early boats and you might have to wait for a second boat, which happened to us once.

Are the boats air conditioned? If not, are they well-ventilated? We had a very bad experience on a HOT boat between YC and DHS last summer. Just wondering if the boats to/from WL are more comfortable.pirate:

They aren't air conditioned, however, they aren't hot like the Friendship boats at the Epcot Resorts. I prefer walking any day to taking those super hot Friendship boats, but even in the summer heat, I've never felt too hot on the MK Resort boats. The Blue Flag to CR and FW is an open-aired boat. The MK boat is more enclosed, but it's still less hot than the FB.

We love the WL. Have never had dinner at Artist Pointe but hear it is good. I liked Whispering Canyon but my DH did not. I don't think he liked how loud it was and our service was extremely slow. I really like the food court which many complain is too small. The food is always good. My DHs favorite. I cant count how many double bacon cheeseburgers he has put away there.

I have to say that I loved the quiet of our woods view room. We could hear/see Wishes at night and the Electrical Light parade when it by, and the occasional boat horn, but I don't know that my kids would nap with all the pool noise. They don't like to to miss out on anything! On the other hand, my husband would snooze right through it! :rotfl:

They have laundry facilities on the first floor. We used them on our last trip. There were 2-3 other people there doing laundry, but plenty of washers and dryers for all of us.

Boats are extremely easy to use. We took the Contemporary boat for our early ADRs without any trouble, but really liked not having to collapse the stroller for the MK boat.

We ate dinner at Whispering Canyon last trip. Super fun with kids and the food was great. Large portions. (More than we could eat and my boys can eat!) We had a last minute dinner at Artist Point. We had an extra credit to use and there was a really bad storm that day so cancelled our previous reservation and it was a pleasant surprise. Food was delicious and they were so accommodating with our very picky 3 year old. They made him a grilled cheese and the kids got Mickey straws, even the 13 year old. We ate a few meals at Roaring Forks including dinner on our arrival day, one lunch and a breakfast or two. Breakfast was nuts as the restaurant isn't that large, but the other meals were fine. Not too crowded and we all enjoyed the food. We have reservations for breakfast at Whispering Canyon for our upcoming trip.

We are here and we love the resort! We took a boat to magic kingdom this morning! We watched the fireworks from The Contemporary seating area last night.

Thank you everyone you have all been so helpful and convinced me that this is the right resort for us :) I'm getting close to booking dates and prices depending on the return quote offer x

Does anyone know about how long it takes to get to DTD from WL? We have dinner ADR's at Fulton's on our first night and want to be sure we allow enough time- thanks so much.

We haven't stayed at WL in quite a few years, but we decided to do US/IOA and then WL Dec 9-12 because I love the Christmas decorations here more than anywhere else we've stayed. We had the grandaughter at ASMU last October and a pre-cancer surgery trip to Yacht Club CL last February and I remarked both times about how much I love WDW in Dec, so we booked AoA last May and then decided to switch to WL with woods view today. So far we've booked ADR dinners at Raglan Road, Artist Point, and Cape May Buffet and plan to "wing it" with QS the rest of the time.

If I could stay off Dis Boards I wouldn't be going back so often!

I concur with KOOK!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 ...who, btw, seems to be missing a ticker?!?!?!?!??????:worried:

We were told the boats leave half hour before the MK park opens but there was a boat going to MK early this morning. We were planning on going to The Contemporary then walking. So that was great that there was a boat going directly to MK.
