Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

Thanks Hulabird,

Interesting. I called to make my Chef Mickey's ressie, got a so-so friendly cm, and asked her after I made the ressie if it was normal for a cm not to give me a confirmation number. She said that was not normal and that all PSs have a confirmation number. I gave her the time and the day, and she provided me with the confirmation number.

So it indeed existed, the CM apparently is diverting from the standard process in giving this information instead. I work in the service industry and know that you sometimes get a "free thinker" that believes that things should be done another way.

Anyway, thanks for your responses, and atleast we no now that this is not the standard.

Followed the instructions exactly and got our PS for the second day of our trip in August, the last table!!
WooHoo!

I got my reservation too! actually, i didn't do it right at 7am either. I really wanted Tuesday, Aug 24th, but I forgot to call; and didn't remember that I had forgotten (despite it being written in big bold letters on my calendar) until 9am. So then comes WEd. morning...and as I'm trying to get into work early..I suddenly remembered that I needed to try again...it was 7:20am and I thought it was no use to try....but tried anyway. So after going through all the "push 1"..."push 2"...etc. I was on hold for a few minutes...I thought I was toast...but then at about 7:30 a very nice CM came on...and didn't "laugh at me" when I asked if there was any tables left for CRT....because there actually was. I think that it helped that there will only be 2 of us. I had my pick of times...and picked the earlier time. But after speaking with the CM about bus transportation from the POP she thought the 8:10 might be cutting it a little close...so now we're going 8:55 on August 25th. Now i can plan the rest of our trip and PS's. I'm so excited!

So...bottom line...just because you don't call right at 7am...all may not be lost...give it a try anyway!

Thank you to everyone on this board. I'll admitt, that I was one of those people on my first trip who didn't know about the restaurant in the castle.....and i think it's sooo cool that we can go in there!

My friend just called me with great news - we have ps seating at the Castle for August 28, at 8:25 am.

I would like to make some ps myself for other rest. Does anyone have the 800 number? I can't seem to find it anywhere and my friend used the 407 numbers. Thanks in advance.

I read somewhere that they charge $10 per adult and $5 per child to your credit card.

Is this true? I had originally thought that this amount was charged only if you were a no show.

We will be using Silver Plan wishes and were going to use them for this breakfast. How does this work? I obviously do not want to be charged to my Credit card and also use wishes.

Help!!?!?

The will charge the deposit. When you tell your server that you are on the Silver Plan and using Wishes, they will credit back the charge on your card...

Thanks everyone for all your advice!!
I called this morning & got in at 7:00 exactly. I had bearly fininshed pressing the last #2 & the CM answered!!
I took the first available (8:05), to secure a spot, then changed it to a little bit later. I got my PS for 9:30! Of all the PS's I have to make, this is the one I really wanted most because it is my DD's 5th birthday. (& yes, I did inform the CM it is her birthday :) )I can't wait to see the look on her face that morning!!

PS. - I also made birthday dinner ressies at WCC. :D
princess: Thanks again everyone!!! princess:

thanks so much for the advice and encouragment. I never realized it was such a hard thing to do- so come Nov 12- I will be up bright and early trying to get reservations for breakfast at the castle for dd 5th bday. ::MinnieMo

We will be at VWL from 8/30 -- 9/03. I was able to get through each morning this week to book the breakfast. We will cancel the ones we do not need to use when we get closer and know what days we are going into the MK. We were there the same time period 2 years ago, and had similar luck. It pays to go during a less crowded time.

I thought about doing that for my trip for a couple of days but didn't want to deal with them holding $35 for each day I was able to book for my party of 5. Good for you if you can afford to do that!!:teeth:

So ... you're sitting on 5 reservations for Cindy's (one for each day) and you're not sure which one you will use. That bothers me. Others did not get their 7:05 am reservations because you snagged a reservation that you have a 4/5ths intention of canceling.

There is a better way that is more fair to all of us who try to get a reservation. First of all, pick a day that you will be at the MK before making any reservations. Second, grab the soonest reservation for your trip (so you have one in "the bank"). Then, try to get a reservation for the day you really want and cancel your back-up when you get it.

Hoarding Cinderella reservations just isn't right.

FWIW, I got my reservation due to the kindness of someone who canceled their reservation as soon as they realized they didn't need it. I messed up on my dates and when I checked I realized that I was supposed to call at 6:00 am that day for reservations for my daughter's 5th birthday. Oops. I ended up getting through at 6:00 pm and there was a spot available for me! I'm sure that someone who had multiple dialers canceled the ones they didn't need.

That person can give it to someone who forgot to call. I guarante it will not go to waste. Besides it was 1 a day.

Why can't she just pick her MK day in advance? One reservation per day adds up to 4 reservations she has no intention of using. That means that 4 people, in the know like us, tried to call at 7:00 am exactly 90 days out and were unable to get a reservation. The limited number of seatings and tables makes a single reservation very hard to get. That's why they are sold out within minutes! I know that the reservation will not "go to waste", but the whole thing seems rather selfish and inconsiderate to others who are trying to get that special breakfast. Your best odds of getting a reservation, as we all know on this thread, is to call right away in the morning. Your odds of calling at just the right time when she finally cancels her reservation are just about nil and reservations are not transferable.

Anyone notice it seems these PS's are getting easier to get?

I had a tentative trip planned in July, called first day, 2nd try at 7am. Got a 9:35 ressie for 6. (Ended up having to cancel.)

Definite trip scheduled in Aug, but I was on a cruise exactly 90 days before. I had someone call for me and they got it for the first day. When I got home from my cruise, I thought maybe a different day would be better. I called up (this is at approx. 83 days out), and they had openings on Wed Aug 25 and Mon Aug 21. I didn't even have to look further in the week.

Maybe I just got lucky, but it seems I really didn't have a problem getting these ressies for whenever I wanted to go.

I just cancelled the following PS's for CRT:

7/13 9:00 Party of 4.
7/14 8:30 Party of 4.
7/15 8:05 Party of 4.

Hope someone can use them...

This is my first time posting. This is our 3rd trip to WDW in 3 yrs and we've never gotten a PS for Cindy's! Does anyone plan to cancel a ressie for 7/8 thru 7/12? My daughter is turning 6 that week so it would be that much more special. Thank you!

Have you tried calling? You may be surprised and I would call evertyday even while there also show up really early cause they have walk ups open.
