I finally had a chance to gather up everything {I was going to do it Tuesday, but the parents arrived early} and took the boy elf off this sled that is carrying a tree.

Only to find out 1-it's a GIRL elf and 2-she has no wires in her legs and 3-her posture is stuck in the sitting position.

I have no car this week. I am stuck homebound. I can't even go get a new one who arrives late to the training.

Now what??

Guess I better go make up a letter that says we didn't qualify for an elf this year.

Have her a sub for a day or two... Explain that the missing elf was held up in customs for not having the proper paperwork and the fact that his shot records were not current. That she will be subbing in until on the red tape has been taken care of by week's end...

Don't give up!!! Customs is a pita! LOL

I realized I am over thinking this whole thing.

Gamma Polaris or Ursa Merak be a girl elf's name. I figure out which one when I start tweaking the letter.

I remembered that one person uses a cute little figurine. Therefore my elf does not need to be completely movable. Part of the magic is she has to return to the same position each day.

Whew. I really need to be not so anal about things.

well I have an elf notebook for me. I keep elf ideas, the elf passports, reindeer shot records, craft ideas, websites that might come in handy, etc in this book. I got the idea from holiday magic which is a christmas message board like this one. they have a whole thing just about elves.

you can do this however you want. my elves don't return to the same position everyday since they are usually caught in some sort of mischief. Mine are also "touchable" because they are soft and non breakable. When kate was litte, she would take them to bed with her. It's pretty much whatever works for you. Just have fun with it.

I've got to finish filling out the names & getting a big file folder ready for the shot records for the reindeer..... everything, I believe is ready to go for their arrival if not, they'll have some things dropped off via USPS tomorrow while the kids are at school!

at one point there was a template online, not sure if it's still there. pretty much you just make it up. I still have my templates if you want them. I think I sent them to nan so she has them as well.

my elf agents are not looking very promising right now. They are being fitted with new clothes to coordinate with their humans.

And frankly I'm not really in an elfin' mood right now. I caught the Bah humbugs, very nasty illness. I don't want the elves to catch it.

I made small file folders (6.5" x 4" rectangles) folded in half... they are decorated and used for the elves to report their findings to Santa. However, if the kids would stumble across them, they haven't been written in but have a note stating that they are written in "magic invisible" ink that must be sprinkled w/ magic dust that only Santa has access too!

I have a big file folder (regular one from the store) for the shot records for the reindeer trainees we have accompanying our elves. It's just in case there is an emergency and we have to seek treatment for illness! (My kids are gonna love this one as I carry their shot records w/ me at all times).

Passport, I have passports from the embellishment aisle (Jolees) from the scrapbook stores. I've included our elves names, date of birth, and places they have been in the past 2 months! All ficticious places and used stamps I have at home for this year!
