Childrens attire for dinner on the 4 day Wonder?

I have a 4 1/2 and 1 1/2 what are the expecte to wear to dinner? Can they wear nice matching little shorts sets.

My daughter wore dresses and capris for dinners since they do specify no shorts in the dining rooms.

We were on the 4 day Wonder Cruise 2 weeks ago...

I believe people can wear just about anything except jeans (very inappropriate!). Kids would look fine in a nice short set!!!

We are going in october 27-31 then 3 days ast DW.....have a great time and thanks for the info. I tend to agree the toddler have "dressy" short sets that would fine.

What about the teen dress code? We have a 14 yr old boy & 17 yr old girl on the Aug. 4 4 day cruise.

On my 4 day Wonder cruise I saw attire ranging from suits and cocktail dresses down to t-shirts and shorts - in the same restaurant. I am not joking. The first night at Tritons a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 teenagers - sauntered into the dining room in shorts and t-shirts. I saw one man wearing Dockers and a polo with black flip flops that night too I found the mix of attire that night amusing The shorts and t-shirts family did dress nicer the rest of the cruise so I guess they figured out that they might want to check out the dress suggestions in the navigator We had the late seating so they didn't have the excuse of their luggage not being delivered on time. I just wonder what they thought when they walked into the dining room and saw the majority of the people in jackets and dresses. If I was them I would have been totally embarrased and would have turned around and walked right back out.

Anyway back to your question - I think that short sets would be appropriate for your young children to wear to dinner. I saw children wearing suits and dresses too though so you might want to dress them up more for Tritons. Plus they take photos before and after dinner so they would be all dressed up cute for photos

I would have the teens dress like adults. The majority of teens I saw were wearing dresses and jackets/suits - to Tritons - and slacks, polos, skirts and capris to the other restaurants.

we're leaving in a few hours so i know exactly what my 18 year old daughter is planning to wear on the 4th of july 3 day cruise....
her designer jeans and a cute top.....i'm sure she'll look nicer in it than most of the people there....but besides....anyone with an 18 year old girl knows not to argue about minor things like restaurant attire...

as for sandals.....that's all i've packed so that's what we'll be wearing....we live in a very hot climate and that's what we wear here too.....on all occasions.......if people have a problem with it they can look elsewhere than at our feet.....

and hubbie won't be wearing a jacket.....a polo shirt and dockers exactly describes both his and my son's dinner clothing......
this is a vacation, and it's the 3 day cruise......no formal dinners....if it was formal we'd probably skip it entirely.....i've never been into playing dress up....certainly not on vacation, the sole purpose of which is to relax and enjoy being together as a family......i have enough formal events to attend (actually, to which i have to be dragged kicking and screaming) where we live.....on my vacation i'm on vacation....

as for toddlers.....cute short sets are entirely appropriate....they're children.....let them be children and look like children......

well....i sound a bit short tempered on this one don't i.....
but i get so annoyed about the whole clothing question.....it's so trivial and people get so worked up about it.....

anyway.....different strokes and all that...

Gee disneyholic family - Sorry if I offended you We personally enjoy dressing up sometimes and quite frankly I don't think that I seemed "worked up about it".

By the way I wasn't commenting on the fact that someone was wearing sandals - it was that they were actually cheap looking rubber flip flops that you would wear to the beach and they just looked silly with his other clothes. I wasn't being the fashion police or anything - it was just an observation.

Our DSs (age 7 and 8) wore long pants (docker-type) and short sleeve shirts (polo style or golf shirts) for dinner on the 4-day Wonder cruise and they were comfortable. We dressed up (DW in dress and I in coat and tie) for Triton's but other than that we wore casual clothes for dinner (no shorts and no jeans).

We had a blast - Enjoy yourselves and don't miss Disney Dreams!

We wore casual clothes too, my daughter (2) wore dresses and capris..no shorts and no jeans for either of us simply because it was requested that you do not wear shorts and jeans in the dining rooms...that rule didn't seem like such a big deal to follow no matter what yor age..

Disney sets up the expectations of what you should wear in the dinning room even before you give them $1. If you don't feel or want to dress up you do have other options other than eating in dinning room. I understand that it's your vacation, but you know what is expected from you before hand. I believe that dressing up is part of the fun.
