We are staying off site, but would like to have breakfast at Chef Mickeys. Since we are not staying at the Contemporary, do they have special parking? Will we have to pay to park? If so, can we keep our car there and ride the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom?

Thanks for any help.

There is limited parking at the resort. You can park for free at the Contemporary to Eat or Shop. After you are done it would be proper to park the car at the TTC and take the monorail to the MK.
Or just park your car at the TTC in the morning and take the monorail to the Contemporary, and then to the MK after breakfast.

Typically if you book a restaurant at a resort, you can park at the resort for free for up to three hours. So, you really have two choices if you are going to MK that day:

(1) You can park at the contemporary for breakfast, and then one person can move the car over to the MK parking lot while the rest go to the park.

OR

(2) Park at the MK parking lot and take the monorail to the Contemporary.(4 stops from the TTC)

I would personally recommend #2. After eating, it would be a little quicker to walk to MK from the contemporary than take the monorail, because the resort monorail only goes clockwise...so MK is 4 stops after the Contemporary, or about a 8 minute walk.

I wouldn't recommend leaving your car there, as it could well be towed. Back in the nineties, they didn't enforce this rule, and we saved on parking this way - but now they DO enforce, so be warned.

If you park at the Contemporary at a busy time you will be given a 3 hour parking pass, so you couldn't leave the car there and go to MK. If you are going to MK you might be better off parking at TTC and taking the monorail to the resort.

When we were there in August it wasn't that crowded and we were given a 3 hour pass and we were staying on site. They don't want people parking there to avoid paying to park at MK

I would just park at the TTC, take the monorail over, eat and than walk over to the MK! It is a short walk and helps you feel better after a big ol Chef Mickey's breakfast :thumbsup2
